Compiz Killed My Video Card
linuxjournal.com — Enabling Compiz on both ATi and nVidia gave a blank screen. So, I figured I needed to try the Windows solution: reboot. I shut the system down, unplugged it for a few seconds just to be sure and booted. And... still a blank screen, and I mean blank, no BIOS screen, no nothing.

"First I tried Compiz on an ATI card, but that didn't work, so I tried it on an Nvidia card, but then my Nvidia card stopped working, but now it's working again."
