Ok, 8 first people who shout me an e-mail address to send them an invite get one. (I've set shouts private and will delete them afterwards)- mickstephenson, on 06/02/2008, -2/+2Thanks, I'm sure alot of people will be annoyed they didn't get there in time!
- TheRedCoat, on 06/02/2008, -1/+6I have a handful - 5 or 6 I believe. same deal as t2t2.
- t2t2, on 06/02/2008, -1/+6My invites are gone now.
- rxbudian, on 06/02/2008, -1/+2darn... I was going to send you a shout but a colleague interrupted me...

- buu700, on 08/26/2008, -0/+3Cool thanks for the invite! I'll use it as soon as the Linux client is released (can't register with invite online, and it doesn't run in Wine).
- klank, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2All of my invites are now gone.
Enjoy people! - lovecss, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2I have 10 invites available. Awaiting your shouts! :)
- fmorel90, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2@lovecss: I'd love to send you a shout, but I have to be your friend to shout to you.
- t2t2, on 06/02/2008, -2/+8*sigh* I guess i could give away some invites...
- inajeep, on 06/02/2008, -1/+6If your looking to read about it you'll have to watch the video to learn what this is.
- HonoredMule, on 06/03/2008, -0/+4Short version: It's rsync with a slick interface to integrate it with your Mac or Windows file browser (and I guess now Linux soon) and a cloud-storage back end so you don't have to run your own storage server.

- HouseCentipede, on 06/02/2008, -0/+15Thanks for the context. Since, you know, the story doesn't have any.
- canthraxp, on 06/02/2008, -0/+35"why do you keep sending me this crap?"
- Ciryon, on 06/02/2008, -1/+3Thank you for the info, I needed this software yesterday. I have a .mac account but surely this thing will work much better.
- Audacitor, on 06/02/2008, -2/+8Dropbox does indeed kick ass. Transfer between my box and their servers is faster than you would think.
- niczar, on 06/02/2008, -13/+2This crap is pure spam. Buried.
- bitterbug, on 06/02/2008, -0/+6But it's spam for a product I could want and use, that isn't just a scam to prey on people's insecurities.
I wish more spam was like this.
- bitterbug, on 06/02/2008, -0/+6But it's spam for a product I could want and use, that isn't just a scam to prey on people's insecurities.
- ianam, on 06/03/2008, -6/+1Yet another person who has no clue how the internet, or software in general, works. The rate of transfer depends on the "tubes" between you and the server, exactly the same as any other transfer. And you can't tell how fast the transfer is to the dropbox servers because you don't know when the data arrived there. Nor can you tell how fact the transfer from dropbox is, if they cache data on the local machine, which they likely do.
- liquidpele, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1Because it probably only stores the delta of the changed files. Hell, it looks like just a huge customized subversion repository...
- niczar, on 06/02/2008, -13/+2This crap is pure spam. Buried.
- spence798, on 06/02/2008, -0/+9notice the "keira knightly oops Hot!!1.jpg" file update message in the upper right hand corner during the explanatory video on the getdropbox.com website
- blapierre, on 06/02/2008, -1/+7They got a GUI for SVN on Linux? Amazing!!
- nmnnotmyname, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1lol...
Well, To be fair, I do use KDESvn, an SVN GUI and it's definitally not even near the same thing as drop box.
- nmnnotmyname, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1lol...
- jgtg32a, on 06/03/2008, -0/+9That link was very helpful because the pic didn't look like anything.
- newwatch51, on 06/03/2008, -0/+3Yeah I thought it was just a file manager at first.
- DragonForce4, on 06/03/2008, -0/+4damn TPS reports
- mohamedmansour, on 06/08/2008, -0/+1Dropbox is just automatic "update", "commit" for repositories ... Nothing new, could do the same with SVN right now just make it auto update/commit
- weizbox, on 06/02/2008, -3/+11you have an account??? i wants invite! :)
- mazza558, on 06/01/2008, -1/+20Hopefully it'll be just as easy to use as on Win/Mac. How will they deal with different file managers? Will it be just nautilus?
- trogdoor, on 06/02/2008, -1/+15They could easily just mount it to a directory like any other *NIX network share, so the only thing that would be needed ( from what I could tell, I have never actually used the service ) would be a little script which takes the file name and appends it to the appropriate URL ( for sharing with others ) and possibly some visual notification that a change was being 'synced'. But even without those you could still get basic functionality from any file manager / program.
- Modestexcuse, on 06/02/2008, -2/+5That feature is already built in. You can offer URLs from your public folders very easily. It's only a right click away. (PC)
- trogdoor, on 06/02/2008, -2/+3My comment was about how Dropbox could be supported in file managers other than nautilus.
- ianam, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1The feature you're talking about has nothing to do with this.
- ngmcs8203, on 06/02/2008, -1/+5It is very easy to use one pc/mac. I've had my office testing the PC/Mac version for the last 4 weeks and it's been super seamless.
- niczar, on 06/02/2008, -0/+5You can do that with sftp, just type an sftp://user:password@host/path in Nautilus address bar (or ^L).
You can also connect to a Webdav server. - ianam, on 06/03/2008, -1/+0"They could easily just mount it to a directory like any other *NIX network share"
That would make sense, but then there would be no point in a screenshot. They have some sort of browser add-on, and thus your comment is off target.
- Modestexcuse, on 06/02/2008, -2/+5That feature is already built in. You can offer URLs from your public folders very easily. It's only a right click away. (PC)
- n0odles, on 06/02/2008, -1/+20It would be gross to be forced to use Nautilus in KDE for Dropbox.
- mazza558, on 06/02/2008, -4/+1I'm betting it'll be Nautilus and Dolphin.
- Stonekeeper, on 06/02/2008, -0/+7Non cross-DE apis FTL :(
- mazza558, on 06/02/2008, -4/+1I'm betting it'll be Nautilus and Dolphin.

- daftman, on 06/02/2008, -10/+21I just looked at the site. It lists all these features such as easy of use and blah blah but missing the most crucial, security.
No go for me.- Ramble, on 06/02/2008, -5/+3What do you need?
- daftman, on 06/02/2008, -0/+13+ built in encryption.
+ be able to sign my files so that only people within my organization can read it.
+ better access control e.g group policies that integrates well with my OS
What is the difference between this and simply setting up a ftp server?
Fast is extremely relative especially that they are new and don't have that much load.
Nice GUI? With things like FUSE it's not that hard to implement an integrate file system. See GoogleFS for example.- Angostura, on 06/02/2008, -0/+12From the FAQ:
1. How secure is Dropbox?
We take utmost care to ensure Dropbox is secure. All transport of file data and file metadata occurs over SSL. Files are encrypted with AES-256 before being stored on our backend.
2. Can I specify my own private key?
We plan to eventually allow users to provide their own privates key but for usability reasons (e.g. being able to view files from the web) we haven't done this yet. Some users have mounted truecrypt volumes in their dropboxes to handle this concern.
- Angostura, on 06/02/2008, -0/+12From the FAQ:
- daftman, on 06/02/2008, -0/+13+ built in encryption.
- ngmcs8203, on 06/02/2008, -4/+3I don't know how secure technically it is, but so far it's been secure enough for our standard office use. We use it, however, mainly to just send and receive files with clients and publishers, so it isn't like we're transporting highly classified materials over an unsecure network.
- niczar, on 06/02/2008, -2/+7"but so far it's been secure enough for our standard office use. "
WTF does that mean? It's secure because you haven't been hacked .. yet? By that account, russian roulette is very secure, you don't always /die/ on the first try! - ianam, on 06/03/2008, -1/+0"I don't know how secure technically it is, but so far it's been secure enough for our standard office use."
That's a mindbogglingly stupid comment. How the eff would you know if it /wasn't/ "secure enough"?- obelisky, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2maybe he isn't the actual 'IT guy' you ***** retards
- niczar, on 06/02/2008, -2/+7"but so far it's been secure enough for our standard office use. "
- Drizzit, on 06/02/2008, -1/+14Security is as follows.
Files are transmitted via SSL to the servers and back and on the servers themselves they are AES256 encrypted.- ianam, on 06/03/2008, -1/+4"on the servers themselves they are AES256 encrypted."
And the key is secured how?
Who the heck are these people, that anyone would trust them with their files?- mohamedmansour, on 06/03/2008, -1/+3Exactly, even if the server is encrypted, the key is secured how? Are we really sure it is secured? We should be able to assign our own AES256 key to encrypt our own data, I don't trust that company to do a global key for everyone!
A AES key per user would be benefical to encrypt data on server and we are the only ones that could encrypt and decrypt ... And we send the data encrypted, not decrypted. Then I will like this service cause it will add another layer of security for us. - HoratioHellpop, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1same issue i have with google, skydrive, etc. ... this is fine for files you could care less about, but I'd *NEVER* put business or personal files on anyone's server, other than my own.
- mohamedmansour, on 06/03/2008, -1/+3Exactly, even if the server is encrypted, the key is secured how? Are we really sure it is secured? We should be able to assign our own AES256 key to encrypt our own data, I don't trust that company to do a global key for everyone!

- MistaMatt90, on 06/02/2008, -2/+21Excellent, I'm just waiting for more sincere pricing information... being a Linux user and all....
*Crosses fingers for free*- Chrysaor, on 06/02/2008, -0/+9It will be free for 1GB storage. Beta testers will get to keep their 2GB quota for free. If you want more storage, it will cost money.
- SgtBlue, on 06/02/2008, -1/+62GB? That must have been used later in the beta testing stage once demand picked up, I've got 10GB. Weird.
- SteveColebourne, on 06/02/2008, -0/+7Yup, 10GB for the earliest, 5GB for a second wave, and now for the final batch of testers 2GB.
- zumpiez, on 06/02/2008, -6/+3My account has 5.
- TheJalu, on 06/09/2008, -0/+2I have 5GB =)

- dshPls, on 06/02/2008, -44/+10Welcome to Windows 95, redone again for no apparent reason.
- wontstoptalking, on 06/02/2008, -3/+21I'm telling you right now, you are going to get buried. Let me start this off for you.
- Sammi84, on 06/02/2008, -0/+16Are you referring to the theme in the screenshot? As a long time Linux user I must agree with you. It's butt ugly. Don't know of any Linux distro that defaults to such an ugly theme.
You know there are pretty themes for Linux too, right?

- talonstriker, on 06/02/2008, -1/+14You realize that this is a software that allows you to save files in a remote location right?
- mohamedmansour, on 06/03/2008, -1/+1already been done...
rsync, groove, sharedfolders, google, msn, online storage, etc ... ... .... ... this isnt' new technology or anything innovative ...
All this is a better eye candy then others. Where I give them props cause it is a good interface. But who knows how the backend is like ... And don't rely on a third party security that the user will not have the private key. If they allow us to encrypt (before transmitting) I will be happy.- specialK16, on 06/03/2008, -0/+4What the ***** are you talking about?
- wanzedk, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1This has absolutely nothing to do with eye candy, it's the opposite, actually, they're trying to integrate it into your OS, so that you'll almost forget you're even using it. It's makes synchronization a lot easier.
- mohamedmansour, on 06/03/2008, -1/+1already been done...

- Sammi84, on 06/02/2008, -2/+39Seems more and more stuff is coming to Linux these days. Wasn't there a story about the Source engine coming to Linux just yesterday?
- wontstoptalking, on 06/02/2008, -2/+11Wasn't it Valve? I may be way off.
- solistus, on 06/03/2008, -0/+5Huh?
Valve is the company that makes the Source engine.
- solistus, on 06/03/2008, -0/+5Huh?
- iXneonXi, on 06/02/2008, -1/+18This is why we get dupe stories hitting front page every day. Diggers have serious memory corruption issues.
- Unlgued, on 06/02/2008, -1/+4More of a stack underrun, imo.
- amphoterous, on 06/02/2008, -0/+5ERROR. Out of memor...
- Prod_Deity, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1Gabe hates Linux. It's well known. He's just a fat, lazy bastard. If it's not DirectX, it's too hard.
- wontstoptalking, on 06/02/2008, -2/+11Wasn't it Valve? I may be way off.
- Kingoftherings, on 06/02/2008, -8/+3Looks kinda neat, but I don't really have multiple computer to share files between, it would be nice to transfer data between two OS's on the same computer, but meh.
And the with the friend thing, I don't want someone dumping huge files on my computer without at least asking me if I want it.- dcherryholmes, on 06/02/2008, -0/+9If you are running linux, transferring data between the linux and windows partitions works. Going back the other way, from Windows to linux? I hear there are 3rd party tools that do that, but I've never used them.
- allywilson, on 06/02/2008, -0/+7Yeah, there's a 3rd party DLL for windows to allow access to ext2/3 partitions. I ain't used it in years (I went through The Change) though.
- Biznarie, on 06/02/2008, -0/+5This tool is useful for ext2 drive in windows (http://www.fs-driver.org/) It creates an icon in the control panel and it displays all the ext2 drives and gives you and option to select a drive letter and mount them. Note it does not work with RAID arrays formatted in ext3, not for my RAID1 anyways.
- Kingoftherings, on 06/02/2008, -0/+3Yeah I use Linux to copy files off my Windows drive, but it would be nice to sync them every once in a while with Dropbox or something.
- iDe1337, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1Actually, Wubi (sorry, ubuntu-only) (http://wubi-installer.org/), lets you be able to put linux on the same partition and have an "Ubuntu" folder on your main partition that you can go into through Windows.
- allywilson, on 06/02/2008, -0/+7Yeah, there's a 3rd party DLL for windows to allow access to ext2/3 partitions. I ain't used it in years (I went through The Change) though.
- AutoTom, on 06/02/2008, -3/+3you can just get rid of the public folder..
i was lucky enough to get a beta code.. its just so.. straight forward.. its like theres 1 folder thats always available on all your computers so seamless you never think about it - Syphon8, on 06/02/2008, -0/+1Uh... That's what he did in the video, transferred things between a virtual Vista PC on a Mac, and the Mac.
- dcherryholmes, on 06/02/2008, -0/+9If you are running linux, transferring data between the linux and windows partitions works. Going back the other way, from Windows to linux? I hear there are 3rd party tools that do that, but I've never used them.

- culbeda, on 06/02/2008, -2/+4FTW? That's a paddlin'.
- Thomaschaaf, on 06/02/2008, -1/+19This is in the dropbox forums.. not exclusive at all!
- clesch, on 06/02/2008, -12/+4like I care about a gui for linux... just make a decent cli-client too please. :/
- Daniel0, on 06/02/2008, -1/+3Then you might as well just use SVN or CVS...
In my opinion, what makes Dropbox good IS the GUI.
- Daniel0, on 06/02/2008, -1/+3Then you might as well just use SVN or CVS...
- oliver75482, on 06/02/2008, -2/+15Here's another screenshot from the same Dropbox account:
http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/5143/db-screenshot.png - KevinJim, on 06/02/2008, -1/+4Ok, I see why this is good new. But for me it's much easier just to remote control my Desktop, Notebook, whatever... or even sftp to my folders.
- gavdog2020, on 06/02/2008, -8/+26I love the Windows 95 skin! (it's '08, time to update yo graphics)
- AutoTom, on 06/02/2008, -23/+3oh yes, lets all get ourselves a vista skin and waste 250mb of ram and 25% of processing time ( on 1.83ghz core 2 duo ( actual benchmarked time for general operation of vista aero )) to the ugly interface of vista
i dont want to sound like an irrational OSX fanboy but please - if you have not tried OSX.. TRY IT! and i dont mean go into an apple store for 5 minutes use a mac for 3 weeks.. you'll be converted.- Firehed, on 06/02/2008, -0/+12As a Mac user, I'd like to point out:
1) Those specs for Aero are ***** (FAR lower consumption for me on a lower spec machine), and my OS X kernel and the Finder take a solid 300MB of RAM on my MBP. I'll ignore the dozen instances of httpd taking another hundred megs as that's probably my fault.
2) The interface is obviously a personal choice. You couldn't pay me to put up with that Linux skin, but I don't find Vista's that appalling either
3) Not all Mac users feel the need to fellate Steve Jobs at every possible opportunity. Which is to say, we do NOT all feel the need to try converting people. I give my advice when it's asked for and leave it at that.
- Firehed, on 06/02/2008, -0/+12As a Mac user, I'd like to point out:
- Krissam, on 06/03/2008, -7/+2yea, that guy uses a windows 95 skin so?
gnome is still much nicer than aero will ever be- HoratioHellpop, on 06/03/2008, -6/+1Gnome is Gcrap.
- Modestexcuse, on 06/02/2008, -1/+3I've been using DropBox on my PC for a few weeks (Beta Tester) and have had an easy time using it. We transfer files interoffice more easily, and can offer a url/link to customers for sales brochures etc. Many of our clients use Mac and Linux, so this is a great benefit for us!
- Skitals, on 06/02/2008, -1/+3Cant wait for the linux version! I have it on my mac... was sad I can't use it on my laptop, too :(
- Aero347, on 06/02/2008, -2/+3You had me at shared content.
- iRelinquish, on 06/02/2008, -1/+29I think every digg submission is going to have LEAKED and EXCLUSIVE in the titles from now on!

- TheJalu, on 06/09/2008, -0/+1Or both! =)

- TylerM, on 06/02/2008, -0/+4Dropbox is a file synchronization tool. It's not available for Linux yet... but soon, very soon. This will allow for amazingly quick syncs between Linux, Macs, and Windows PC's.
- ianam, on 06/03/2008, -2/+0"amazingly quick syncs"
No, maroon, they take longer than an ftp because they have to go to the server and out.- kirkeskov, on 06/12/2008, -0/+0Could you help me? I forgot how to make automatic ftp-syncing between these 3 different platforms.
- ianam, on 06/03/2008, -2/+0"amazingly quick syncs"
- Acglaphotis, on 06/02/2008, -13/+3Buried for Emacs.
- l800LEMMINGS, on 06/02/2008, -2/+2this does just about none of us any good for (the moment) i'm on the beta waiting list and have been for @ 6 months. This will be awesome once they finish the beta or let everyone in on it
- TheRedCoat, on 06/02/2008, -4/+2Shout me your email address. I have a few invites.
- ry4nsm1th, on 06/02/2008, -0/+6I don't see what is so special about this screenshot, you knew it was going to have green check marks by the files in Linux too.
- albiniak, on 06/02/2008, -2/+1dropbox is awesome. awesome awesome. and for the security concerns? read the FAQ. aes256, not bad.
- duckyinc, on 06/02/2008, -0/+7Q: How much use will this be in real life?
- 1timeuser, on 06/02/2008, -1/+14A: IT'S OVER 9000!!!!
- jwalk81980, on 06/02/2008, -2/+7What?! 9000?!!!
- AbstortedMinds, on 06/02/2008, -3/+5dropbox has made my life so much easier
major props to these developers!- niczar, on 06/02/2008, -5/+3Oh yeah, secure remote copying of files ... that's so f'in awesome ... it's not like I can do this from Nautilus (or KDE) already, with the sftp://... virtual filesystem handler ... Well it's only been available for 8 years, what do you know.
This one's Web 2.0. Or something.- MrTsLoveChild, on 06/02/2008, -2/+2this is why linux will never have a reach beyond hardcord nerds.
you just don't get it. this is easy to use. that's why it's exciting.
i know, i know...shell commands are SO EASY. not for most people. look outside your circle of nerdom.- ianam, on 06/03/2008, -1/+5Nautilus and KDE aren't shell commands, maroon.
- h0m3styl3, on 06/03/2008, -0/+3and neither are being able to restore revisions or deleted files, or only having to go to one site to find software made by the same developers with the same title for the software for all the major operating systems that will all behave exactly the same.
install - link with account via website - done.
Your files are being synced, with revision history, and undelete ability.
ps - sftp is available via command line as well..so his comment wasn't that off target. Why flame when he has a valid point - cross-platform usability?
- MrTsLoveChild, on 06/02/2008, -2/+2this is why linux will never have a reach beyond hardcord nerds.
- h0m3styl3, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2I agree - makes life a lot easier.
niczar - can you randomly go back to any revision of a file that you've set up to sync with sftp or scp? no, not unless you have some other processes in the background keeping revisions, or you write your script to save a new copy of every file that's sftp'd/scp'd...
the point behind this software is that it's smart enough to find the delta of the files, and only transfer that, and then allow you to visit their site, and restore any previous version of that file.
comes in VERY handy when writing documents. You change a paragraph, save, and then realize you liked what you had before better next time you come to edit the document...or maybe you just want to see how you progressed? Either way, entirely possible with dropbox. Not possible with a plain jane sftp/scp file transfer.

- dropbox, on 06/02/2008, -3/+0Mine, :)
- xqb4dpx, on 06/02/2008, -0/+3anyone else noticed the dropbox cache folder? (on windows) i dont know if it exists on a Mac, but in Windows, there's a dropbox cache folder that takes up a ***** load of space (14gb here).
- ianam, on 06/03/2008, -1/+1Like duh. People seem beyond clueless about how this works. That you can see the data in the dropbox folder immediately after putting it there isn't because they have miraculously spend up round-trip internet times.
- melink14, on 06/02/2008, -2/+1Dropbox keeps getting better and better. But I'm not surprised.
- l800LEMMINGS, on 06/02/2008, -3/+1your shouts are set on private

- TylerM, on 06/02/2008, -2/+1I've got some invites, I could hook some diggers up;
tyler.a.mills [at] gmail [dot] com- TylerM, on 06/03/2008, -0/+5They're gone, but if you requested one I'll email you and ask if you still want one if they refresh me.
- modusop, on 06/02/2008, -1/+4Is this an inside joke that I'm not getting? This looks hella old.
- superjamie, on 06/02/2008, -2/+2Dugg for Tay Zonday. Even though the author didn't **move away from the mic to breathe.
- gavdog2020, on 06/02/2008, -1/+0+1 for making me laugh, but wtf are you talking about?
- SatansSpatula, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1How could that make you laugh if you don't understand the reference?!
Are you one of those people who goes, "aahahahahahahhahahaa! wait... what?" a lot?

- ObscuredCelery, on 06/02/2008, -0/+11Leaked? Sensational headline strikes again. I think they mean "released" all considering the so called leaked screenshot is hosted at the project's official servers.
- MrViklund, on 06/02/2008, -1/+3Agreed. This is ridiculous.
- MrViklund, on 06/02/2008, -1/+7Oooooohhhh leaked!!! Ooooohhhh!!!! Totaly amazing!!! leaked oooh!
Like this is some secret military project... - MMaster23, on 06/02/2008, -4/+1oohhhh wow a useless image faked in 2 secs which has no meaning WHAT so ever
- kipmartin, on 06/02/2008, -10/+4yawn. wake me when Linux is ready for us non propeller-heads.
- Hosalabad, on 06/02/2008, -4/+3Exactly. Dump this apt-get ***** and write something I can teach my mom how to use.
- bowens44, on 09/11/2008, -0/+1point and click is too difficult for her? You haven't had to use apt-get from the command line for quite some time.
- bowens44, on 09/11/2008, -0/+1wake up!!
- Hosalabad, on 06/02/2008, -4/+3Exactly. Dump this apt-get ***** and write something I can teach my mom how to use.
- fooyonghwee, on 06/02/2008, -2/+3Looking good! I've ben using Dropbox for about a week now and it's quite wonderful. Anyway, if anyone wants an invite..
http://www.thesecondpress.com/blog/dropbox-invites - fLUx1337, on 06/02/2008, -0/+1"Why do you keep sending me this crap?" - I thought I had seen dropbox before but wasn't exactly sure, until I saw that pop up in the IM window of the video @ http://getdropbox.com
Cool concept, glad its working on all 3 major OS architectures, as that just makes it so much more useful! - superyounan1, on 06/02/2008, -0/+2I wouldn't want secure and sensitive files shared this way. At home I have linux running, and from work I can quickly send files home with a mainstream sFTP client with no need for an in-between service provider.
- hardwarehank, on 06/02/2008, -0/+3So this is subversion for the clueless? I've been doing this for like 3 years...
On second thought, it's not too bad if you want all your changes synced instantly. The video doesn't explain what happens with conflicts...- SatansSpatula, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2svn for the *clueless*? Are you really that out of touch?
I use Foldershare currently. It's a POS. The encryption is incompatible between Windows and Mac versions.
I'd be pretty happy to use this. Seems a hell of a lot more slick than using svn.
- SatansSpatula, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2svn for the *clueless*? Are you really that out of touch?
- MacTyler, on 06/02/2008, -1/+2I have the beta version for mac right now! It is freaking awesome. Me and my friend use it to share uh.... yeah my sister reads digg, not taking any chances.
- SatansSpatula, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2Pictures of your sister?
- PsychTouch, on 06/02/2008, -1/+1can't wait
- SLockhart, on 06/02/2008, -2/+5Good grief that's ugly.
- aautopsy, on 06/03/2008, -1/+2Its un-themed. Its what GTK applications look like when they aren't being managed. It looks like hes using a minimal window manager.
Unlike windows or OSX you have a choice what you want them to look like. The default when they are managed is clearlooks, which topples anything on windows or OSX cleanness and readability wise.

- don79ny, on 06/02/2008, -0/+0Do I still have to put all my stuff in a single folder to use this? If not, when will they be like Syncplicity?
- Culyt, on 06/02/2008, -1/+1This looks like it would take a few hours for someone to code a nautilus script using rsync to replace most of the functionality.
Still its nice to see Linux supported.
And I like the HDDVD numbers in the screenshot and every other meme they managed to cam in there, although it would suck of they got sued by the hd dvd people =P
☢- ianam, on 06/03/2008, -0/+0Yeah, because a nautilus script can contain a multi-terrabyte backend server.
Maroon.
