- metalhead3767, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4Why do we need segregation like this?
- Lordtedbear, on 08/16/2008, -0/+0Its not segregation. Its a place to meet gay with a similar that isn't Madonna, hairdressing or how to look as womanly as possible without being a woman. ha ha I'm just kidding all those gays are cool too and happy in their own way. But its hard hard to come across an out gay linux nerd. So where better to look for one than on the net.
- metalhead3767, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3Its the same thing with the women who use Linux group. We do not need segregation like this.
Were the people in the regular Ubuntu chat room being mean to them because they were gay? Or do they want to make Ubuntu as gay as possible? (Maybe share some desktops with an Ubuntu logo and a penis.) - mbthompson, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3ridiculous
- dDuk, on 10/25/2007, -4/+6Hey if you guys feel left out just use regular Str8buntu, it's a real mans OS, comes with a wallpaper of naked MILF and the system messages say things like "Kernel has been ***** updated dude - YEH! Wanna give this ho a restart?" etc.
This is stupid. stupid stupid stupid. Dugg down for being LAME. - shrewduser, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3this has got to be some sort of weird slightly disturbing joke...
- FirefighterBlu3, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6segregation? why do you have a distro named "Ubuntu", why not just call it GNU/Linux so we don't isolate certain users. why do we have geek websites? why do we have websites that focus on a certain programming language like .. http://php.net/
there isn't any segregation, it's just a website that wants to attract a gay/bi userbase. other users definitely aren't prohibited.- metalhead3767, on 10/25/2007, -7/+3Because a person's sexuality has NOTHING to do with an operating system.
The metaphor that you are trying to make between php.net and Gaybuntu is ridiculous! PHP is it's own programing language and should have a separate web site. Gay people who use php should not have their own web site. They could just use the regular php site like everyone else.
But they don't want to be like everyone else so they'll make there own site. Its the same reason why they're ***** dudes when everyone else isn't. They just want to be different.

- towsonu2003, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Interesting. Those who are burying this, thinking that it's "ridiculous" or "segregating" should note that oppressed groups can be drawn to a new community easier if a group that specifically supports them is already present.
Also, I am (not) stunned by the ignorance on oppression here. "Segregation" is "segregation" only if the oppressing group segregates the oppressed group. Examples:
1. If women are cast by men to their homes: that's segregation. Women are oppressed by men...
1.a If women decide to form a "national organization for women": that's not segregation.
2. If blacks are cast by whites outside public spaces: that's segregation
2.a If blacks decide to form a "black power" group: that's not segregation.
3. If linux users cast gays and lesbians away from the community by labeling them (and others) as "*****" or "tomboys": that's segregation
3.a if gay linux users decide to form a "gaybuntu" group: that's not segregation
For those who still don't get it: 1, 2, and 3 are forms of oppression; 1.a, 2.a, and 3.a are efforts of resistance against the dominant group / culture. It's also a means of founding a secure place to go to.- metalhead3767, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3You write like a textbook and try to sound smart.

Do Gay people need Gaybuntu to feel accepted because they feel unaccepted in the regular Ubuntu forums?
Here is the definition for segregate: to separate or set apart from others or from the main body or group; isolate
It does not mater who is doing the segregation. No matter what, it is segregation.

Were you really being resisted in the regular Ubuntu forums? - dDuk, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2"3. If linux users cast gays and lesbians away from the community by labeling them (and others) as "*****" or "tomboys": that's segregation

Guess that's something I've missed on the system messages, wallpapers and man pages in Ubuntu. WTF r u talking about, Ubuntu users aren't regularly bashing gays! Is there a version of OS X for gays because there are a minority of people in the community who are anti gay? U r a moron and ur arguments sux.

- frant1c, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Hmm, now when I look at it, that logo does look kinda gay (;
- thaineth, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Hi,
I just wonder, if someone can help me out of this.
As i just start with Kubuntu, i got a problem on the next page (18+ !!!)
www.chatboy.nl
There are three buttons on the left, and in Windows it says: klein, middel, full screen.
But with Kubuntu it shows only three blue empty buttons, without the text in it.
Can somebody tell me what i have to install, to get the text in the buttons as well?
Many thanks in advance,
heian - sirlagalot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1wow... GAYBUNTU??
