- YodaJones, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1That's cool. I would have figured he used Debian or one that was more "techie" and required more compiling.
Personally I like Fedora 9 also and I had it installed on a partition, but I tend to lean towards Ubuntu.- 4DFX, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1Torvalds said in an interview that he doesn't want to be bothered with compiling and configuring. He wants to go straight to his work.
- MattBD, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1One of the main reasons people often have for trying harder distros is to learn more about Linux. Linus doesn't really have to do that (after all, he created the kernel) so I figure he doesn't really need to spend time on something more complex. I personally like Ubuntu, but I prefer KDE so I go for Kubuntu, although I'm very enamoured of Sidux at the moment.
- n4cr2k, on 07/22/2008, -1/+3Slightly inaccurate title. There is no longer a Fedora "Core". Version 6 was the last.
The biggest difference between Fedora Core 6 and Fedora 7 was the merging of the Red Hat "Core" and Community "Extras" repositories,[34] and the new build system put in place to manage those packages.

- vallum6, on 07/31/2008, -0/+0I prefer Fedora 8 with KDE 3.5.9...(or OpenSUSE)
