      The option would be that the username/password is stored somewhere, but they didn't mention it in the video.

      Download the script & read the man page. It's all covered in there. You create a personal config file that contains your username, password, default toppings, etc.

      aplardi: If this is too hard then this script is not for you. Sadly, it's not for me either since dominoes doesn't do online orders in Canada. One day I will order pizza from the command line.

      Uuuuuhhhmmm - NO??!!! I mean it takes you AT LEAST 60 seconds to call and talk to some guy (here in California probably speaks little/broken English) or to go to a website, get to the order page and finalize your order. I can do this on the commandline in less than 10 secs. Hey, it can be 1 second if you set up a bash script with your favorite pizza selections :-)

    The script doesn't use SSL (your Domino's password can be sniffed) and it places your base64 encoded password on the command line (it can be read by other logged in users on the same machine via ps and other methods). There's also some interesting commentary on that page:

    I believe it may now be in use internally at a large number of corporate organizations (primarily by hard-core coder types who are too focused on the task at hand to get up and go out to get a pizza -- or even to lift up the phone to order one), and installations can also be found on the public Internet.

      But yeah, Domino's has that, fake taste to it. It literally feels like card board when lifting a slice. I'd like to see Connie's, Home Run Inn, and Gino's East get an ordering system similar to Domino's.

Since it's a command-line tool, this opens up a myriad of possibilities. For instance, a web-based frontend. Or a GUI frontend (using something like zenity or kdialog to produce the GUI). Or even a cell-compatible frontend, going through another server. Wow, just imagine the possibilities.

    Too bad it's not available in Canada. :(
