oreillynet.com — O'Reilly Linux Dev Center blogger Caitlyn Martin describes a change in the fontconfig package in many current Linux distributions that effectively disables many popular fonts. The fonts are actually installed but applications cannot see them or use them. Ms. Martin provides step-by-step instructions on how to re-enable the popular fonts.
