Windows' Genuine Disadvantage -- Vista kill switch removed
badvista.fsf.org — When you install Vista, you consent to being spied upon by Microsoft, through the "Windows Genuine Advantage" system. This system tries to identify instances of copying that Microsoft thinks are illegitimate. This system included a "kill switch" which allows Microsoft to remotely deactivate your copy of Vista.

Or slipping a kill switch into XP tp force you to upgrade to Vista?
In my case,Microsoft 'forced" me to move to Linux over two years ago...Thank you Microsoft.
best decision i ever made.- adamkmccarthy, on 01/18/2008, -0/+2lol - if m$ were that stupid (to insert something like that into their successful products like XP) they would have far more issues than monopoly practises in the market place. I hear you though. First thing i did when vista came out was buy a mac.

They must be desperate, maybe it's time to call 2008 the year of desktop Linux?- Phocion55, on 01/18/2008, -1/+6It's amazing how someone can spin something like WGA as "good" as well.

You can argue all day over what WGA does and does not do, but at the end of the day, WGA brings NO VALUE to the consumer whatsoever. - Sirocco, on 01/18/2008, -1/+6DRM only serves to hurt legit users.
