- 1516 diggs
- digg it
- bonk2k, on 10/12/2008, -0/+11I had never seen that The Thing poster. That's amazing. And what's more is that its a poster for a showing at the Alamo Draft House which is probably one of the best theaters on the planet.
- alexkball, on 10/13/2008, -27/+1It's Drafthouse, not Draft House; stay away from Austin, just because you like our theaters doesn't mean we want you here.
- bonk2k, on 10/13/2008, -0/+12You want me to stay away from Austin because I put an unnecessary space in the name of a theater I visited 3 or 4 years ago?
- Mudbeast, on 10/13/2008, -0/+5@bonk2k
Don't listed to that guy, please visit often so our already awesome local economy can have your tourist dollars. Ol alex might live here but most people here aren't from here. Most of us are nice and we're happy to see you. - alexkball, on 10/13/2008, -4/+1yeah most people who live in Austin aren't from Austin, that's kind of the problem in the first place.
and it's listen, not listed. - bonk2k, on 10/13/2008, -0/+2@Mudbeast
Thanks man. Every time I've visited Austin its kicked ass. - alexkball, on 10/13/2008, -3/+1it's
- Xviper78, on 10/13/2008, -3/+0That poster is hideous.
- rpgmaker, on 10/13/2008, -0/+1O-*****-K. I didn't knew about 'The Spirit' movie. It seems that it is being filmed with the same effects and style as Sim City. I love Frank Miller. Can't wait :)
- WhiteHamster, on 10/13/2008, -0/+1It will be cool, i just hope it different enough, so its not the same movie, you know?
- alexkball, on 10/13/2008, -27/+1It's Drafthouse, not Draft House; stay away from Austin, just because you like our theaters doesn't mean we want you here.
- muslax27, on 10/13/2008, -2/+86automatically dugg for being on one page
- MarrowMan, on 10/13/2008, -0/+5agreed
- john2kx, on 10/13/2008, -3/+21..which also guarantees that their server will die after like 15 diggs.
- chewties, on 10/13/2008, -14/+1automatically buried cause content sucked
- indubitably, on 10/13/2008, -0/+3i didn't think the technology existed until now.
- WhiteHamster, on 10/13/2008, -0/+2Its government funded, they have one bug they're working out where if a list contains 60 or more things on one page, the internet explodes.
- louiebaur, on 10/13/2008, -2/+17Pulp Fiction
Using a picture of Uma Thurman on a bed with a smoke. Priceless! - implicitmemory, on 10/13/2008, -0/+6I think the Mean Streets poster is a classic, and of the course the film is brilliant.
- matador0, on 10/13/2008, -12/+2Missing blood diamond. http://www.impawards.com/2006/posters/blood_diamon ...
- halloweenkat, on 10/13/2008, -8/+15I wouldn't call them beautiful.
- darthjure, on 10/13/2008, -0/+2That's a pretty broad definition of beautiful.
- twodollars, on 10/13/2008, -0/+7These are awesome. Im surprised I didnt see 2001: A Space Odyssey or Silence of the Lambs.
- Dagreenman, on 10/13/2008, -1/+6Dugg for the awesome The Fountain posters.
- unluckier, on 10/13/2008, -2/+5The posters may be good, but the movie was awful.
- rpgmaker, on 10/13/2008, -1/+3Agreed. A total letdown...
- unluckier, on 10/13/2008, -2/+5The posters may be good, but the movie was awful.
- johndajap56, on 10/13/2008, -4/+32Cloverfield? Forrest gump..C'mon
- Delta009, on 10/13/2008, -3/+2Hey! I have the Cloverfield poster hanging in my bedroom. It's awesome.
- happyfundave, on 10/14/2008, -0/+1You're right, some of the posters on this list really aren't that great. There are even some better poster options for some of the movies shown. For example there are much better posters out there for The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly
- TheWorm, on 10/13/2008, -3/+1The one article I would have preferred to be separated among a couple pages. 50 image pages load pretty slowly under heavy traffic.
- DavidFromCanada, on 10/13/2008, -1/+4Slow site...
- socoolisme, on 10/13/2008, -8/+2Cloverfield FTW.
- thorak, on 10/13/2008, -1/+7site dead...
- nbabasketball, on 10/13/2008, -1/+2Cool overview of movie posters. It's an interesting collection and not exactly what I would have thought. If you're a movie fan, check it out.
- dar5139, on 10/13/2008, -4/+1The poster for the new Incredible Hulk is pretty amazing, as is the one for I Am Legend.
- maretten, on 10/13/2008, -12/+3I'd bang the ***** out of Miley Cyrus' face.
- jordantneff, on 10/13/2008, -1/+0http://www.atalude.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/ ...
- temujin2012, on 10/13/2008, -2/+2Not only awesome posters, but the movies they are for are awesome too!
- T8erT0T, on 10/13/2008, -7/+1Who is the glue sniffer that decided the Zodiac poster is beautiful? Not only a cinematic turd but a completely forgettable and unimpressive poster.
- jjpertusch, on 10/13/2008, -0/+5really? i think the Zodiac poster is one of the most strikingly beautiful posters i've ever seen. it also matches the mood of the movie very well. i reallllllyyy like that poster.
- T8erT0T, on 10/13/2008, -0/+3You must be a Bengals fan too.
- tattertech, on 10/13/2008, -0/+3I thought Fincher did awesome with the movie personally.
- seantubridy, on 10/13/2008, -1/+5Nothing is loading. They all look like the Beatles White Album.
- ATLChris, on 10/13/2008, -4/+3This list is total crap! 2 Dark Knight posters c'mon
- Xviper78, on 10/13/2008, -0/+1Just because the movie was hugely successful and recent doesn't take away from the artistic quality of the posters. Both are great, but the "why so serious" poster is brilliant.
- rpgmaker, on 10/13/2008, -0/+1The 'why so serious' poster was good but the other one was necessary, c'mon.
- Xviper78, on 10/13/2008, -0/+1Just because the movie was hugely successful and recent doesn't take away from the artistic quality of the posters. Both are great, but the "why so serious" poster is brilliant.
- t3hmyth, on 10/13/2008, -3/+4I really like the original poster for "Chinatown"

- slangmann, on 10/13/2008, -2/+3why the ***** are those all on the same page? its impossible to load (probably b/c of digg effect...)
oh the irony - cyclopssmiley, on 10/13/2008, -0/+1Smashing magazine used to always be on digg, I miss those days.

Say what you will about the movie, but this poster is awesome.- btschul, on 10/13/2008, -1/+2No it isn't. Shia Laboof is on it.
- Jackson0909, on 10/13/2008, -0/+2Dude................ seriously.
- Bigtruck, on 10/13/2008, -0/+1Photoshop had really changed the look. Interesting contrast from the older to the newer posters.
- GerudoX, on 10/13/2008, -0/+2Say what you will about all the hype around Dark Knight, but the posters were fantastic. Also, the Grindhouse posters are done so well with the retro design.
For some other really sweet posters check out these Polish posters of U.S. films. Some of them are better than the originals.
http://digg.com/movies/50_Incredible_Hollywod_Film ...- zerogeist, on 10/13/2008, -0/+0i agree, the grindhouse posters are amazing. I worked at blockbuster when they released them and was offered 50 dollars for the poster on numerous occasions.
it decorates my wall now (the 1st of the 2 posters shown)
- zerogeist, on 10/13/2008, -0/+0i agree, the grindhouse posters are amazing. I worked at blockbuster when they released them and was offered 50 dollars for the poster on numerous occasions.
- psion01, on 10/13/2008, -0/+6I'm surprised they didn't include this:

- jfujita, on 10/13/2008, -0/+2My favorite poster:
Pierrot Le Fou
http://store.criterion.com/product/show/28286 - Spartandog, on 10/13/2008, -0/+1All good choices, but that Empire Strikes Back poster is pretty tacky-looking. Wasn't there a better one than that?
- topgigmedia, on 10/13/2008, -0/+1this posting aside, I must admit that Smashing does tend to post interesting and useful things in general.
- imightbewrong, on 10/13/2008, -1/+2dugg for Amadeus

- pootpoot, on 10/13/2008, -0/+1Wtf? Deuce Bigalow? If you're serious, you sir have completely invalidated your list.
