5 Types of People Who Go See Pixar Movies
my.spill.com — I know, I know, everyone goes to see Pixar movies. They put nitrous in the theater air vents or something. Whatever it is, their movies are always fantastic and you can count on a huge audience turnout. Still, keep an eye out when you go to see WALL-E and I think you’ll discover…

- mejaredme, on 06/27/2008, -8/+2Discover....
- sanskover, on 06/27/2008, -15/+3top Pixar movies in order:
Toy Story 2
Toy Story
Incredibles
Vastly overrated and cutesy: Finding Nemo
Great opening and then interminable: Cars (someone kill that two truck)
Didn't see: Ratatouille- mummbleswers, on 06/28/2008, -1/+1Sorry you're getting dug down, but someone needs to tell you (IMHO) Ratatouille is one of the best. Brad Bird is friggin' awesome.
- Apocalyptic0n3, on 06/28/2008, -0/+1Yes. Because Wall-E, A Bug's Life, and Monster's Inc. definitely WERE NOT Pixar. I applaud the brilliance of this comment.
- mummbleswers, on 06/28/2008, -0/+1It's called an opinion, and I'm not saying you did, but whoever dug me down for telling someone who never saw it that Ratatouille was brilliant, and that Brad Bird is a genius - You're a dick.
- Seaseme, on 06/28/2008, -2/+34It's pretty pathetic that this is the ***** that makes digg's front page these days.
- beahmad, on 06/28/2008, -4/+1This is said on every single less-than-superbadass link. I'm disappointed that I didn't join digg early enough so I could talk about the days of yore when every single link was ***** amazing. I got screwed.
- Seaseme, on 06/28/2008, -1/+1Yeah. I was a reader for years but I never really had a need to register. Now I'm a registered complainer too!
- SpillReviews, on 06/28/2008, -1/+2Sorry? I guess some people thought it was entertaining. As long as you had fun bashing the article then it still served a purpose.
- Seaseme, on 06/28/2008, -0/+1Hey, you just did your job. No need to apologize to me. Have fun with your mediocre list site. :)
- chicoer2001, on 06/28/2008, -0/+14The Average Joe? What does that mean?
- Apocalyptic0n3, on 06/28/2008, -1/+2The billions of other people one possibly could not list in such an idiotic attempt at pageviews.
- louiemantia, on 06/28/2008, -1/+34Terrible article.
- cheech794, on 06/28/2008, -1/+11Just saw Wall-E and it went straight to the top of my pixar list.
- Frogee, on 06/28/2008, -2/+9Wall-E is just so damn adorable.
- therealfoz, on 06/28/2008, -2/+9What a pointless list. Whoopdy frick
- Teradoc, on 06/28/2008, -1/+10Wow I don't know if they could have made that article any worse....
- MasterGrief, on 06/28/2008, -0/+1Neglecting the censor bars on the cartoon porn.
- trumasamune, on 06/28/2008, -4/+2I feel like the only person who dislikes these cookie-cutter, predictable, cliche movies. The characters and scenery changes (and I guess looks better graphically with each new release), but the plot is always the same.
I'll pass.- Swarms, on 06/28/2008, -0/+1How is the plot the same as anything they've done?
- funkytommyman, on 06/28/2008, -0/+1Too many filmmakers think they can replace actual plot with fancy animations. There's not nearly as much work put into it as classic Disney movies. For example, Madagascar, which had a total running time of 86 minutes and an apparent lack of humor and Robots, which also lacked in the funny department yet had amazing animations.
- Halsfield, on 06/28/2008, -0/+1if by the same plot you mean good things happen in the end , i think that is what most children's movies try to do. Even with that said, nemo had his mother dying from a rather dark scene in the beginning of the movie. I think you need to pick a new argument for why you dont like these movies. How about, "i dont like things that are popular because i feel like a rebel" ? If i missed the mark lets hear a better answer because the plots are not anything alike.
- AKBryant54, on 06/28/2008, -0/+1Apparently this one might also have a good sci-fi plot, like what an Asimov fan would like.
I have absolutely nothing to back that up though, and have not seen the movie. - MasterGrief, on 06/28/2008, -0/+1I'm not gonna attack you or anything, but as a lover of all Pixar films (besides Nemo), I must know, what is it in the plot that is so oft-repeated?
Also, how many Pixar films have you actually watched entirely? - trumasamune, on 06/28/2008, -0/+1I guess saying plot is a little vague, I mean the plot devices. They all go basically like this:
-Opening scene, main character and their "special ability" are introduced
-Plot thickens, you usually meet the "girl", "best friend" and the "villain" at the part, and there is some sort of problem or trouble for the main character and company to deal with.
-Main character goes on an adventure with however many compatriots, and has an overall good time. Whether it be some kind of competition or game, task to do in a certain time, or what have you, its accomplished with flying colors. More often than not theres some jovial music attached, if not total bursting into song by the characters.
-Climax, another problem develops, main character almost never succeeds, becomes depressed and is helped to realize what they need to do by some seemingly obscure reference or non-character. Main character goes off to either get the girl or beat the villain. Succeeds in whatever they do.
-Ending, usually another song/celebration. An overall happy ending.
Every animated movie is like this, mostly because it obviously works, and because its made for children. They can't deal with anything more complex than this. Nothing is wrong with this though, its the people that go see them that I don't understand, I suppose.
Oh well.- Halsfield, on 06/28/2008, -0/+0im sorry but that made no sense. You say the movies are childish , but thats ok, but you dont understand the people that see them? All of these movies have plenty of adult-only jokes, darker moments, intrigue, plot-twists. I watch pixar movies because they are breath-taking, some have pretty great jokes for older people, all around enjoyable. Is it the god-father? no, but its not cat-woman either.
Every movie has a climax, thats the whole point. You have introductions to the characters, villains, basic plotline, then you build up to the climax with action/problems/jokes/adventure, climax, and then ending and wrap-up. Thats 99% of all blockbuster movies.
Special ability? Again, i have no idea what you mean here. - trumasamune, on 06/28/2008, -0/+1There's a difference between calling something childish, and saying that something is made for children. One is an opinion, the other is a fact. I said the latter, you incorrectly stated I said the former. I don't really see how to argue that further.
If you go see these movies for the adult-only jokes, I guess that's your prerogative, I don't find them particularly entertaining. As far as the other things you mentioned, they are all predictable or overdone.
Also by special abilities I meant the traits or powers the main character possesses in every movie. Woody's got the cowboy bravado, Buzz has the wings and the astro-soldier personality, Mike and Sully have their scaring ability, and Light McQueen has his super speed compared to other cars. I wasn't making an argument talking about this, just saying that it's pretty easy to set up a plot tailor made for these things.

- trumasamune, on 06/28/2008, -0/+1I've also seen every Pixar movie besides Ratatouille, and obviously Wall-e.
- MasterGrief, on 06/28/2008, -0/+1Thank you for explaining yourself, I suppose I can see where you're coming from. It's nice that we can disagree without getting angry, I think, heh. As for Ratatouille and Wall-e, I'd tell you to go see them because they're great, but I suppose you wouldn't like them... So nevermind. Anyway, yeah, thanks, glad that's cleared up.
- mitch37, on 06/28/2008, -8/+2Only dugg for the Incredibles pron
- Shogi, on 06/28/2008, -0/+15Why the ***** did I need to see Dash going down on Violet?
- EvilJelloMan, on 06/28/2008, -1/+1Rule 34 on the incredibles pretty much saved this article.
- KingGorilla, on 06/28/2008, -1/+1Did not need to see that.
Why didn't they censor more????
- JBravada, on 06/28/2008, -1/+7This list is terrible-- at least there are some facts behind the Cracked.com top '5' articles-- i'm pretty surprised this made the front page-- (guy calls 50 friends)
- SpillReviews, on 06/29/2008, -0/+1no calling of friends. although hey SWEET IDEA!
- mfdoomm, on 06/28/2008, -0/+4that realllllllly sucked balls.
- HeatherH88, on 06/28/2008, -0/+3Ratatouille was by far my favorite, but Wall-E was adorable too... It's pretty impressive to make a movie with next to no dialog that engaging! =)
- xerofilter, on 06/28/2008, -0/+1what about gay twenty-something animation geeks?
- quez, on 06/28/2008, -0/+4Buried for being lame, and for the really, really disturbing Incredibles porn.
- lukas88, on 06/28/2008, -0/+1I think you made this article just because you wanted to mention animation geeks and put up cartoon porn. The rest were obvious.
- l800LEMMINGS, on 06/28/2008, -0/+3Raising kids is tough. I can’t say I know from experience, but I owned a Tamagotchi once so I feel like I got the gist.... this is the articles highlight
- bonlebon, on 06/28/2008, -0/+3Another 5 kind of people who see Pixar movies:
Those who think Disney is behind Pixar success.
Those who think Steve Jobs is behind Pixar success.
Those who think George Lucas was a visionary starting Pixar.
Those who think anything with the Pixar brand is cool (think of the Jim Henson's syndrome)
And family and relatives of those who do all the hard work at Pixar.
Bonlebon. - thekms, on 06/28/2008, -1/+3Let me consolidate the whole article into one word: everyone.
- SpillReviews, on 06/29/2008, -0/+1yea pretty much, i kind of just thought the way it was written was hilarious
- beahmad, on 06/28/2008, -1/+1That was poorly written and not entertaining. It made it even worse that the author recognized that his own work was ***** and admitted it before signing off. I mean, the 'animation geek'? wtf kind of category is that? I really hope he doesn't get paid for that.
- DarkReign16, on 06/28/2008, -1/+3I went to go see WALL-E today with my brother, but when we arrived, the theatre was packed entirely of children and their parents (except for one really old creepy guy sitting in the darkest corner, no joke), so we left in embarrassment.
- KingGorilla, on 06/28/2008, -0/+6I'm sure he was just curious if those children wanted some Popsicles
- bwonder, on 06/28/2008, -1/+0I just like movies, man.
- MaddieCakes, on 06/28/2008, -0/+8Wall-E was ***** AWESOME. That's why I go see Pixar movies, because they're ***** awesome.
- jjcyber, on 06/28/2008, -0/+2Lol, No.3 right here. Planning on seeing film tomorrow. Though, I've no doubt it will be fantastic. No nitpicking here.
Will be interesting to see Rule 34 on it... - sharkbright, on 06/28/2008, -1/+5This article was so terrible I registered just to digg it down
- shiftless, on 06/28/2008, -2/+1This list is totally original! Wow, I'm crapping my pants in hilarity here! Wow. This is mindblowing *****!
- Rambus89, on 06/28/2008, -1/+3summary - Humans go to see movies
- Halsfield, on 06/28/2008, -0/+0nearly exactly what my comment was going to be, very bland article.
- roomforpanic, on 06/28/2008, -0/+1Comedy is a lot harder than it looks.
- Onion575, on 06/28/2008, -1/+3Terrible article... you make a few random groups up and lump everyone else into the last group. Double bury for the incredibles pron.
- orion846, on 06/28/2008, -1/+1awful... just awful...
- MsAntiSunshine, on 06/28/2008, -3/+1This article sucked.
But Wall-E is so freakin' cute I was compelled to Digg. : ( - GlitchEnzo, on 06/28/2008, -0/+2To be honest, I've never really been a Pixar fan. I can't really point out any major flaws or anything, they just weren't my type of movie. But I must say, WALL-E looks great and I really want to go see it.
- kjleftin, on 06/28/2008, -1/+2People who see Pixar animation movies:
1. Kids and their Moms
2. People who like animation
3. Everyone else.
wow... that was mindblowing. - alphabetagaga, on 06/28/2008, -1/+2I've actually only seen one Pixar film, Toy Story. On TV.
