Check This Out: More Dark Knight Sequel Fan Art
firstshowing.net — A couple of my comic book friends have demanded I feature these photos because they look so damn good and you all deserve to see them, too. Separate from the other fake fan created Dark Knight Returns poster that we ran last week, Australian artist Josh McMahon has designed numerous mock-up versions of additional Batman characters that could appear

- jmpeagle, on 08/22/2008, -5/+32I really don't know how they can top the most recent movie. You've already had a movie who wanted to pretty much destroy Gotham for the good of mankind and another pretty much for the hell of it/prove a point. What could they possibly do next that's even more epic? They could go the Die Hard route and expand (building -> airport -> NYC -> entire U.S.) but that would lose much of the batman feel as he is usually concerned with matter confined to Gotham. The villains in 1 and 2 both aimed to create panic in their unique ways, what's the 3rd villain going to do?
- Moskie, on 08/22/2008, -3/+18Who says they even have to go bigger or "more epic"?
I think the trick with the next movie is to do something more personal for Batman/Bruce Wayne. This is one reason I love the theory that the Riddler was introduced in TDK as a guy who figures out who Batman is. With that information, he could really do something that strikes at a very personal level for Batman/Bruce Wayne....- liongoesroar, on 08/23/2008, -0/+0Going bigger would fit in with the theme of "escalation" that Nolan's been doing.
- AManWithNoName, on 08/23/2008, -0/+5I think you're probably on the right track. I think the next (And probably final) of the Nolan Batmans could involve the Riddler and Harley doing something that would force Bruce to reveal himself as the Batman.
Although I disagree still that the guy who knew Batman's identity would turn out to be the Riddler...It was a bit role played by a nobody actor in TDK, and the character was way too meek to do anything like become a criminal.
- dweeb79, on 08/23/2008, -1/+3Bane will be introduced and break his back.
- dweeb79, on 08/23/2008, -1/+5I didn't force Raimi to do anything and how is that bad if Bane breaks his back? Bane is a great character and as I remember so was Venom. It's not my fault Raimi used a ***** script and overloaded the film. I'm guessing it's also my fault for Superman fighting a giant rock in Superman Returns.
- BrandonJM, on 08/23/2008, -0/+1I thought the same thing, but then I realized Raz Al Ghul / Scarecrow and Joker / Two-Face never actually targeted just Batman. The Joker is all about chaos, Batman just makes it fun, but they have yet to feature a villain focused on:
1) Rivaling Batman as a symbol for the other "freaks" (Joker doesn't count, he's the Joker, he is what he is)
2) Actually manage a focused campaign on finding out who Batman is and taking him down.
Plus, remember that many of the Bat villains are popular because people connect with them like Clay Face (the animated version anyway) and Mr. Freeze. So there's plenty to explore in how Batman deals with criminals who he may empathize with. - ekdevdas, on 08/23/2008, -0/+1I want the next villain to be like that old comicbook guy Deacon Blackfire. He is able to rally all of Gotham behind his fanatical movement as he exploits their fear of Batman/criminals, and attempts to profit off their fear by extorting high fees out of all the citizens, taking advantage of his esteemed position, and being very corrupt with infiltration into government and lots of criminal activity, e.g. drug-dealing, on the side. So this would be the 3rd way, where Blackfire tries to destroy Gotham for personal gain, but he's eventually stopped by Batman. It would also be a great commentary on modern times, with Blackfire symbolizing pres. you-know-who.
Then again, it may not be very flashy. Maybe they could add another villain in addition to this who complements Blackfire or is even a henchman.- GothAlice, on 08/23/2008, -1/+1A combination of Blackfire and the Riddler (not Dr. Who, for the love of christ) with a little Harley action on the side. I think that'd make a nice all-round 3 hour movie, don't you?
- Moskie, on 08/22/2008, -3/+18Who says they even have to go bigger or "more epic"?
- dukebball717, on 08/23/2008, -7/+2picture of the girl posing looks too much like a party city costume picture.

- harrison5394, on 08/23/2008, -1/+8Impressive, most impressive.
- MasterBeowulf, on 08/23/2008, -13/+3I'm more concerned about the fact that people are making fan art for the sequel to a movie that just came out.
- destron, on 08/23/2008, -5/+56Harley Quinn looks hot in an emo sort of way.
- imbob, on 08/23/2008, -1/+4P.L.U.R!
- MasterTroll, on 08/23/2008, -5/+3Harley Quinn wouldn't really work without the Joker.. and they wouldn't recast that part.
- D14BL0, on 08/23/2008, -0/+1Read up on how Harley met Joker.
- ShadowPhoenix11, on 08/23/2008, -8/+14Nobody can ever come close to filling Heath Ledger's role as the Joker.
- sugarazor, on 08/23/2008, -1/+12People said no one could ever top Nicholson's Joker... look how that turned out. There are a lot of talented actors who could pull that role off, they'd just have to make it their own.
- ciano, on 08/23/2008, -0/+3Well, in the interest of continuity I think they'd try to make it similar to ledger, but seeing as how they replaced Katie Holmes with Maggie Gyllenhaal so seamlessly that nobody noticed (a few of my friends were even surprised to learn she had been replaced at all), there is no doubt in my mind that they could pull it off.
- LuckyEMS, on 08/23/2008, -8/+4i noticed
Maggie looks like a horse - jmccgod, on 08/23/2008, -7/+3They both suck at acting so the face change didn't make much difference. I'm just glad she died.
- sugarazor, on 08/23/2008, -2/+5Maggie's a pretty terrific actress. Check out Secretary sometime.
- LocalDocal, on 08/23/2008, -0/+2@ Ciano
Well, what you say may be true, but take into consideration that Katie Holmes was playing a love interest, and not really a major character. Ledger's Joker, on the other hand, is a major villain second in importance only to Batman himself. Additionally, there had been a major marketing blitz that features him. One may be able to slip in Maggie Gyllenhaal without a problem, but people are definitely going to noticed a different Joker.
I suppose it also helps that everyone knows Heath Ledger is dead. - sugarazor, on 08/23/2008, -0/+3But the beauty of The Joker is he's whatever he wants to be. They played up the whole "multiple choice" backstory from The Killing Joke, so it wouldn't be too out there to just let someone new just run with the role and do it their way.
- sugarazor, on 08/23/2008, -1/+12People said no one could ever top Nicholson's Joker... look how that turned out. There are a lot of talented actors who could pull that role off, they'd just have to make it their own.
- SirChavez, on 08/23/2008, -2/+53Dugg for The Doctor (David Tennant) as the Riddler. Awesome actor.
- Apocalyptic0n3, on 08/23/2008, -1/+5I have said this numerous times... Paul Bettany needs to be The Riddler. I wanted him as The Joker but he couldn't have topped Ledger. But Ledger's former castmate would be awesome as the Riddler. The wickedness and cruelty he shows in The Da Vince Code and the humor and wit he portrays in A Knight's Tale? Yes, please.
- gfxlonghorn, on 08/23/2008, -3/+4Dr. Who is a fun show, and I do like it, but acting is not it's strong point. I just don't see Tennant playing a dark enough character to be in a Nolan film.
- GuitarHeroDenn, on 08/23/2008, -0/+7http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoUdPin-dhU
- LucerinRed, on 08/23/2008, -0/+7Tennant is a ***** brilliant actor. He was freaking Hamlet in a Royal Shakespeare Company production. with Patrick Stewart as Claudius. He could easily handle the darkness.
- rgon, on 08/23/2008, -6/+4The Batman and Catwoman picture is amazing. It looks like a screencap.
- dweeb79, on 08/23/2008, -9/+3For some reason when I look at the Riddler I think Harry Potter.
- threepm, on 08/23/2008, -7/+1Kristin Bell Say Whaaaaat?
- postmodernpilot, on 08/23/2008, -2/+22David Tennent would be an amazing riddler in my opinion! I really enjoy everything he has been in!
- TheWriteGuy, on 08/23/2008, -7/+2I'm in love with this particular depiction of Kristen Bell as Harley by the artist:
http://joshwmc.deviantart.com/art/Harley-Quinn-582 ...
She totally looks like she'd fit into the BatNolan-verse, alongside Ledger's Joker. - MrAlexanderZ, on 08/23/2008, -4/+30David Tennant as the Riddler looks incredibly plausible...
- LucerinRed, on 08/23/2008, -0/+3Incredibly ***** wicked as well.

- firebirdx01, on 08/23/2008, -1/+11That is a cool Harley Quinn outfit- the face paint/scars are dead on
- cadmiumpaint, on 08/23/2008, -12/+1some pretty good skills but still a waste of time.
i'd only spend that kind of production time on something if i was getting paid for it.
- MrAlexanderZ, on 08/23/2008, -5/+3Kristin Bell though... I wouldn't buy her as the deranged psychiatrist.
- sugarazor, on 08/23/2008, -0/+11Have you seen her on Heroes? She plays deranged quite well.
- defy, on 08/23/2008, -0/+1I like her, but she seemed out of place as that girl on Heroes.
- JeffH, on 08/23/2008, -0/+1I would have never seen Ledger as The Joker (10 Things I Hate About You anyone?), but he did it well.
- alphabetagaga, on 08/23/2008, -3/+2Hmm. The choice of Kristen Bell as Harley Quinn seems oddly inspired. I like it. The Riddler choice, I'm not so sure. But I do agree the Riddler needs to be in the next one.
- polarbeargarden, on 11/04/2008, -7/+2Can a sequel really have a sequel?
- D14BL0, on 08/23/2008, -0/+4Um, yeah. Look at Star Wars as one of the most successful sets of sequels upon sequels (upon prequels).
- TheWriteGuy, on 08/23/2008, -1/+29"However, it just doesn't logically make sense to have Harley if Joker is locked up, does it?"
Harley was a therapist at Arkham Asylum, who grew to sympathize with and fall in love with the Joker. She helped him escape. That's the original origin story for the character as conceived by her creator, Paul Dini. - saqer, on 08/23/2008, -15/+2Title correction. Check this out: More Dark Knight Sequel Loser Art. - jawdog, on 08/23/2008, -0/+5How about James Spader as Riddler? All they need to do is not let the Riddler be silly. Just make him autistic or something.
- okitasan, on 08/23/2008, -5/+1kinda gay
- quidpro, on 08/23/2008, -1/+3You don't even need to wait for Hollywood to destroy this series, fan art will do it in no time. Someone pass me more crackers for all this cheese.
- NumbersAndNoise, on 08/23/2008, -0/+14The middle design for Harley is passable, but the Riddler looks like *****. Way too over the top, and too close to the comic for anything in Nolan's Batman, not scary. If they do go with the Riddler, the Zodiac killer vibe that they had in that other fanmade poster that turned up seems like a much better choice.
- aznedy, on 08/23/2008, -1/+1Maybe in Nolan's storyline Harley Quinn could kill the Joker in Arkham. It would probably work. 1st scene of the movie... Quinn kills the perfectly re-created CG Joker, followed by what would have to be an EPIC monologue explaining her craziness/motive. Bell is a good choice, and the images are a great representation of what she could look like. I think she would do a great job.
As far as I'm concerned, if there is a TDK sequel, the Joker HAS to die within the first two scenes. I don't think Nolan will re-cast the role or commit to CG for an entire picture. After TDK I think there is an obligation to wrap up the Joker storyline in some way, either by continuing w/ Quinn or introducing another villain who truly TOPS Ledger as the Joker.- ParticleMan420, on 08/23/2008, -1/+2you know what would be cool?

- firebirdx01, on 08/23/2008, -1/+9Harley Quinn as a psychopathic worshiper of a dead/missing Joker would fit in with Bruce Timm's Quinn.
She could take up the Joker mantle, and team up with a darker serial-killer Riddler and that'd be a decent premise to me. - enzobot24, on 08/23/2008, -1/+5Someone needs to do a Crispin Glover poster - he'd make an awesome Riddler.
