- AussieCynic, on 04/23/2008, -1/+2Totally Agree and yes I do Eddie has had his day
- kp2575, on 04/23/2008, -1/+1I really want him to do like one standup comedy special again or something so he can redeem himself.
- frooo, on 04/23/2008, -0/+4The original article is missing Pauly Shore..... although Pauly Shore should never have been allowed to make movies in the beginning, so maybe that excludes him from the list - I dunno.
- kp2575, on 04/23/2008, -0/+3I don't think the original list included people that were dead like Pauly Shore, Chevy Chase, and ... wait... they aren't dead? Just their careers?
- meghanl12, on 04/23/2008, -0/+0I still have faith in Bill Murray. But now he is only funny when he isn't playing the funny guy.
- kp2575, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1His performance in Garfield was... sigh.... nevermind
- plainOldFool, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1He wasn't *terrible* in Osmosis Jones (even through the movie sucked) and I think he was great in Groundhog Day. Things took a turn when he decided to do the *serious* and *cerbral* comedies like Lost in Translation and The Royal Tenenbaums. Don't get me wrong, I think he acted well in these films, but it is a far departure from the Caddyshack / Ghostbuster days.
- kp2575, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1Don't forget Stripes
- plainOldFool, on 04/23/2008, -0/+2Well Stripes is old school 80's .... definitly kick ass old school Murray (and Ramis and Candy).
- kevlar58, on 04/24/2008, -0/+0I love old school Bill Murray as you do; yet, I dig all the quirky work he's done with Wes Anderson... (Haven't seen The Darjeeling Limited tho'. I'll have to queue it up on my Netflix list.) I get a kick out of his role as Steve Zissou in The Life Aquatic.
- kp2575, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1Don't forget Stripes
- followfocus, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1Yes add Pauly Shore to the list! he blows!
- dave122, on 04/23/2008, -0/+0not really, does he even exist anymore?
- 1verse, on 04/23/2008, -0/+2I think someone else said Chris Tucker and his role in Friday, thats it. The Rush Hours never really interested me, but its hilarious how Hollywood thinks that pairing a black man with another race is always funny.
Food for thought, Jamie Fox has done excellent while steering away from his comedic roots and its seems frightening when Robin Williams plays serious roles as well. Not everyone can be funny.- kp2575, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1It is probably better that Jamie Fox did stay away from comedy because he isn't all that funny
- Terr01, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1Robin Williams is scarily good in certain "serious" roles, mainly because it's extremely easy to believe he is slightly insane. (Believe it or not, that's praise.)
I refer to 24-Hour Photo and August Rush. I think he did passably in Man of the Year, although I was really let down by the plot, where I had hoped for more of a "Dave 2".- plainOldFool, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1I thought he was great in 'Death To Smootchy'.
- plainOldFool, on 04/23/2008, -0/+2Dude, Chris Tucker was awesome in The 5th Element.
- drastic8, on 04/23/2008, -0/+2John Leguizamo's Freak was hilarous - his second one (Sexaholic) wasn't as good but that was because he was forced to edit the good stuff out. Eddie Murphy WAS funny as hell on his first standup shows.
- JasonPuppy, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1Hopefully old comedians will start taking each other out like rappers:)
- senorcool, on 04/23/2008, -1/+11I disagree that Larry the Cable Guy is a comedian.
- kp2575, on 04/23/2008, -1/+1The term was used loosely
- dave122, on 04/23/2008, -2/+0GIT R DONE!!!!!!!
yes he sucks and that phrase makes we want to hit people. In fact I will slap myself for good measure just for writing that.
- TomK88, on 04/23/2008, -1/+1Artie Lange needs to make more movies. Beer League was genius.
- kp2575, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1didn't he leave the stern show? he'll have the free time now... and beer league was genius because of ralph macchio
- Jsmuli2, on 04/23/2008, -0/+2Chris Rock has made some damn good films, especially Pootie Tang.
Dane Cook was meant for chick flicks, not stand up.
The other three were right on.
Cole me down on the peti stai!- kp2575, on 04/23/2008, -0/+2I gave him props for Pootie Tang
- pepemt, on 04/23/2008, -0/+2wada tai... wada tai...
- KraftDinner101, on 04/23/2008, -0/+2Don't tippie tai on my capitoowwwn
- Jsmuli2, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1My peddi tais, were hurtin like a whammy, but my dairy tairy, WAS TIGHHTT!
- FukUrCouch, on 04/23/2008, -0/+0Pootie Tang will draw you a picture of how he gonna kick your ass, then mail it to you ten days in advance. The picture gets there right? You're goin', "What the hell is this?" and then Pootie Tang knocks on your door, Promptly kicks your ass and you still won't know what happened to you!
- Guinnessguy, on 04/23/2008, -0/+0You can't forget CB4... that movie is a classic
- Marist, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1I agree with every single one of these choices. Chris Rock makes terrible movies.
- plainOldFool, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1At one point there was supposed to have been a Ghostbusters 3 which would have Chris Rock and Ben Stiller as young recruits being trained by Murray, Ackroyd, Ramis and Hudson. I'm sure it would have sucked but I still would have paid money to see that.
- macwac, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1I wanted to say this name since i was a kid.. (goes for TV shows) Bob Saget!
- cheesejaguar, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1I'm so glad Dane Cook was on that list. He's not even that funny, and he sucks at acting.
- djsim, on 04/23/2008, -1/+2This list was way too predictable.
- kp2575, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1like all of their movies?
- kp2575, on 04/23/2008, -1/+1So you are on the infamous bury brigade... outstanding...
- FukUrCouch, on 04/23/2008, -0/+0I agree with most of them except with eddie and chris rock. Chris is best at writing and eddie has made some good movies...except norbit...
- HezzLissy, on 04/23/2008, -0/+0Dane Cook leaves me sort of in a daze at times.
- ajohns3, on 04/23/2008, -0/+0I just saw a preview for Eddie Murphy's new Movie. I've lost so much respect for him now.
- franchisepick, on 04/23/2008, -1/+1Kevin:
Sorry to disagree, but Larry The Cable Guy, Dane Cook & Cedric were never good enough to provide the anguish and disappointment of the once great but who now just go through the motions and pick up the check:
Eddie Murphy - Every time he does that stupid laugh I want to hurt someone.
Steve Martin - All of me, The Jerk, My Blue Heaven were classics. Boring fatherhood stuff… on Letterman last week he seemed heavily sedated.
Chevy Chase - never, ever funny. Vacation movies were hilarious, but he wasn’t acting.
Woody Allen - They should have imprisoned him for the Soon Yi thing and made him make movies like Love & Death & Take the Money & Run a condition of his parole.
Robin Williams: When people praised sentimental crap like Dead Poets and Good Morning Vietnam they created a monster. He’s the worst, since a Fisher King will set you up for five losers. Unless Jeff Bridges is in it, it will only bring you heartache.
www.franworst.com - defendernancy, on 04/24/2008, -0/+0I don't get Dane Cook.... good looking , but not funny
- tomdeplume, on 04/24/2008, -0/+0No comedian depresses me more than Eddie Murphy. His descent into bland PG13 comedies is awful. No one seems more disinterested in making quality pictures than Eddie. At this point, I think I prefer his brother, Charlie.
- cnt24, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1But I like Eddie Murphy. Remember "You don't got no ice cream"? And who could forget the hamburger skit? I haven't seen Larry's movie, wait is there more than one? Movies if there is. His stand up really gets me going. Gotta love the walking farts thing...
