- ultimate_ed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I haven't been with Netflix since they added most of the features described. We switched to Blockbuster becuase they were cheaper, shipped faster, and the in store rental coupons for last minute/impulse rentals make a nice bonus.
I already participate in enough forums where I can get movie recommendations, I don't need another. - Leftyshields, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I signed up for Blockbuster when it first came out. Movies too a week to cycle. I guess they improved their fulfillment. Bottom line is that Netflix is a lot more aware of user interaction and the importance of building a community. And they ship super fast!
- Squeegee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0About Blockbuster . I had been a customer of
Blockbuster for a few months and use one location in Sunyvale.
I was always charged late fees for videos that were turned in
before they were late. It got to the point that I would have the
employee's SIGN the orginal receipt when I turned in each video. I
learned my lesson about turning the videos into the "drop slot". I
would bring in the signed receipt EACH time I would bring in videos
or DVD's or "got the call". I was surprised at how easy it was for the
Blockbuster clowns to wave those fees when they had signed proof in
front of them. It made me wonder if it all was just a scam.
Then, I went in after 6 months of not using them and they wanted to
charge a fee because I did not use our membership for the last 60 or 90
days.
A week later I started an account with Netflix. - redwingsfan19, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i know this is a little late being 1 year after these comments but Blockbuster Online is improving and starting in November will be giving you more free rentals and a new web site. You will be able to return your online dvds to your local blockbuster store and exchange them for a free in-store rental, one free rental for each return. Once the online dvds are checked in there, your queue is freed up so your next online movie(s) is shipped out. this starts next week (nov. 2nd) and you can still sign up for a free 1-month trial of Blockbuster Online up until the 1st of Nov. after that they will only be offering 2 weeks free. to get the free month you have to go to www.blockbuster.com/trial and enter a promo/gift code when you register, the code is - 26901
