filmschoolrejects.com — And while we could not get an official statement from the studio, we did get the scoop from a very reliable source close to the production. And according to what we ’ve now been told, the film is in trouble, but all is not lost. Here is the rundown of what we now know:

- dedmond29, on 07/28/2008, -1/+3I can't say I have seen the sneak peek trailers or anything but the sheer fact that the first Punisher moving was so horrible had me blatantly ignoring coverage of this one. If this one was going down the same - or similar - road, then I am glad Marvel and co stepped in.
- lokee73, on 07/29/2008, -0/+1You can find a copy of the trailer here. Go watch it...I'll wait.

New actor playing The Punisher makes it look a bit odd at first, but really the movie just looks generic. - macshaggy, on 07/29/2008, -0/+1Ray Stevenson looks more like the Punisher from the comic book. But I really liked Thomas Jane in the first one. It doesn't hurt to be pretty and a badass. The only thing that disappointed was John Travolta never understood that bit of casting. Nonetheless, I want to see this one but I know that the studios have been having problems with it. I think the material may be too adult for them.
- GregIsLegend, on 07/30/2008, -0/+1This has "Straight to DVD" written all over it.
- strikethemdown, on 07/30/2008, -0/+0Having seen the latest red band trailer, its shaping up to be "Violence, The Movie"
