- reflex768, on 06/13/2008, -24/+11Looks like they might finally have gotten it right.
- Rikkochet, on 06/13/2008, -1/+6Ugh, no it doesn't. It looks like Dolph Lundgren 2.0.
- badjoke, on 06/13/2008, -2/+1Meets the Boondock Saints.
- Rich711, on 06/13/2008, -1/+5Hey reflex768 I agree with you atleast, I thought Thomas Jane's was wimpy. Looks like big fun.
- Gravey9, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1B movie at best
- Rikkochet, on 06/13/2008, -1/+6Ugh, no it doesn't. It looks like Dolph Lundgren 2.0.
- Griny, on 06/13/2008, -8/+14The punisher is one of the comics i’ve always collected, so naturally i was bummed with the last movie, it reminded me of the Hitman trailer and we all know how great that movie was!
- RiGiD, on 06/13/2008, -11/+2The Hitman movie wasn't great. As a movie it was descent but as an adaptation it strayed way to far from the character and feel of the games. Let's hope this movie stays a little closer to the source material.
- gkskillz, on 06/13/2008, -1/+7whoosh
- jaynemother, on 06/13/2008, -3/+50I actually liked the 1st punisher movie. Tom Jane made a nigh perfect Frank Castle. This trailer scares me though, the Punisher isn't all flashy like that, he doesn't hang upside down on a chandelier shooting people in a 360 degree arc, he just goes in and kills people and he does not resemble Stephen segaul! I'm really worried about this movie, it feels almost like a direct to dvd
- Nightfall, on 06/13/2008, -0/+8To be accurate, that wasn't the 1st punisher movie. Dolph Lundgren played the first Punisher way back in the 80s. That movie sucked to be honest. Thomas Jane played almost a perfect Punisher I must agree. Everything he did in the movie is what would be represented in the comics. This Punisher just looks too flashy.
- ZenMojo, on 06/13/2008, -0/+2Except they camped up the origin story and 60% of the movie was an episode of Punk'd.
Still, when he finally started the killing at the end it was righteous. - puppetj, on 06/16/2008, -0/+1Dolph Lundgren was way better in that punisher film then that the crappy wimpy bs of a movie that was made!!!!!!
- ZenMojo, on 06/13/2008, -0/+2Except they camped up the origin story and 60% of the movie was an episode of Punk'd.
- rezzy333, on 06/13/2008, -0/+5I didn't mind Tom Jane's Punisher either. This film worries me.
- thirteenthcor, on 06/13/2008, -3/+1Not Tom Jane.
I'll get it from The Pirate Bay.. Maybe
I don't care what the excuse is, if you can't keep continuity of actors from sequel to sequel, your no better than the 80's movies who flopped doing the same thing. This COMPLETELY kills movies for me.
THE ***** LEAD CHARACTER LOOKS DIFFERENT! And I'm supposed to be able to get into the movie? Same with Edward Norton in the new Hulk. I love Edward Norton as an actor, but *****!
FTL- raynar, on 06/13/2008, -1/+4its not a sequel, *****. its a different take on a slightly different storyline.
- thirteenthcor, on 06/23/2008, -0/+1Oh, so that makes it ok then? its still the same character ya douchebag!
- jgtg32a, on 06/13/2008, -0/+2I like the Tom Jane also, but I never read the comics so maybe that's why
- Nightfall, on 06/13/2008, -0/+8To be accurate, that wasn't the 1st punisher movie. Dolph Lundgren played the first Punisher way back in the 80s. That movie sucked to be honest. - eraofk00l, on 06/13/2008, -2/+2I also liked the first one because of the same reason jaynemother said.
Hitman was like totally lame. Trailer hyped you up a little bit but movie totally blew.
Hopefully it doesn't turn out as bad as Hitman - priegog, on 06/13/2008, -1/+1thirded on jaynemother. I actually had never heard someone say they didn't like the first one, let alone it be "naturally so". What I am bummed about is this new actor. The last one was great, anybody know what went on there? I mean I know hollywood makes random decisions for stupid reasons, but one would think making a decision that would end up making them more money would be in their best interest. But then again maybe a lot of people DO think like Griny and want MORE action, MORE guns, MORE blood, no need for not stinkin' scripts.
- RiGiD, on 06/13/2008, -11/+2The Hitman movie wasn't great. As a movie it was descent but as an adaptation it strayed way to far from the character and feel of the games. Let's hope this movie stays a little closer to the source material.
- NaCl, on 06/13/2008, -13/+1Fun
- louiebaur, on 06/13/2008, -16/+1This is probably going to be a good movie from the looks of things.
- LewP, on 06/13/2008, -18/+1Dugg and submitted to today's DDD.
- leonidas333, on 06/13/2008, -14/+9for the love of god I hope it is better then the last attempt.
How the hell do you screw up the Punisher any way?
Hes like the oldest archetype character in history and you don't need special effects. - darkchild82, on 06/13/2008, -2/+63meh. I don't understand why Avi Arad doesn't take this franchise seriously. It's one of Marvel's coolest characters but the movies all have been B-grade.
- plaing, on 06/13/2008, -0/+24nice to see steven seagal come out of retirement to make this one.
- bjs3171, on 06/13/2008, -8/+1there has been exactly one movie.
- tewcewl, on 06/13/2008, -1/+5No. There was another one before the Thomas Jane version with Dolph Lundgren. Check imdb before you say something like that.
- GrandmasterB, on 06/13/2008, -21/+8Glad that Thomas Jane won't be returning as Punisher. They guy's a decent actor, but he's no Punisher.
- bobsander87, on 06/13/2008, -0/+12I really liked him in that role..
- Thefascist, on 06/13/2008, -3/+2he did pushish me with the first fifteen minutes of his movie.
- manstein01, on 06/13/2008, -0/+5Thomas Jane was excellent. It was the direction/script that ruined the movie.
- fadetoone, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1I liked Jane. I'm not sure if I like the new guy... maybe it is just conflicting me because it's different.
- sweaterjon, on 06/13/2008, -1/+83To be honest, this looks like a straight to DVD movie, but a little shinier.
Really was the chandelier all that necessary?- BillMoocho, on 06/13/2008, -3/+3Are you kidding me? This movie looks incredible.
- Nexiec, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1I miss Jane, but this actor and this style looks more like the comics then the last one. Even if I enjoyed the last one more than I think I will this one.
- tRANIS, on 06/13/2008, -0/+2Also thought Jane did a great job.
I am also anxious to see how 'ol Pulo can pull this off.
He does look and sound the part and yes I agree why with the chandelier
/waiting.- raynar, on 06/13/2008, -0/+2THIRTEEN!!!!! THIRTEEN!!!!
/obscure HBO "Rome" reference.
- raynar, on 06/13/2008, -0/+2THIRTEEN!!!!! THIRTEEN!!!!
- tomatogoodness, on 06/13/2008, -2/+36ROME! COME BACK!
- e36wheelman, on 06/13/2008, -0/+8My dedication to Rome and everyone associated with it is pretty much the only reason I'm seeing this movie.
- xtinamo, on 06/13/2008, -2/+2Rome is tied with Extras as the best show to come out of HBO.
- jaynemother, on 06/13/2008, -3/+2Extras came out of the bbc...
- xtinamo, on 06/13/2008, -0/+3It was actually co-produced by both the BBC and HBO..so hah!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extras_(TV_series) - jaynemother, on 06/13/2008, -0/+2My bad.
- raynar, on 06/13/2008, -1/+1dont forget entourage, six feet under, curb your enthusiasm, oz...

- e36wheelman, on 06/13/2008, -0/+2What about Band of Brothers...?
- MaynardJK, on 06/14/2008, -1/+2The Wire is/was better than anything else on tv... except Dexter.
- JoeRW, on 06/14/2008, -1/+1Jeez, Dexter better improve massively from the first 3 episodes to come anywhere near the Wire.
- MaynardJK, on 06/14/2008, -0/+2@JoeRW
I think you are a bit behind buddy. Dexter has had two full seasons already and they were both awesome.
- jaynemother, on 06/13/2008, -3/+2Extras came out of the bbc...
- Scopitone, on 06/13/2008, -0/+5THE THIRTEENTH!
- NyteStarNyne, on 06/13/2008, -0/+8Titus Pullo FTW
- diggB, on 06/13/2008, -0/+9The gladiator fight near the end of season 1 was the best seven minutes of television I've ever seen.
- sgtpppr, on 06/13/2008, -0/+7I would do just about anything to get a few more seasons. It was easily the best written and acted show on TV. Unfortunately, it cost a ***** ton of money to make and HBO didn't want to pay for it anymore.
Imagine all the future espisodes...Nero, Caligula, building the Colosseum, circus maximus, etc.. - RocksOFF, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1Titus Pullo vs. Jimmy McNulty.
Nice.
- jnava121, on 06/13/2008, -2/+29Jane played a pretty realistic former SF soldier. There were a few discrepancies but overall it was ok.....Especially compared to lundgren or this clown on the picture lol... I love those gangsta weapons too in this pic... I might pick up a 5 dollar copy in the bargain dvd bin in a few months !

If this link is true I believe he actually bailed out on the sequel due to the script being so crappy and what not...- Apocalyptic0n3, on 06/13/2008, -1/+6Except for the fact that this isn't a sequel. It's a different storyline. Never read the comics but rather enjoyed the first movie (apparently I am one of the few) but did the comics follow the usual Marvel route of there being 50 different characters for each superhero? (Like Nick Fury, Spiderman, The Hulk, Green Lantern, etc.) If it did, then there's your explaination right there. This is another storyline based on a different incarnation of The Punisher. Rest assured, though, this is not a sequel at all. And not a franchise restart like they were so smart to do with The Hulk.
- jnava121, on 06/13/2008, -0/+4ah , good explanation thanks !
- jaynemother, on 06/13/2008, -2/+3Firstly, you don't know what you're talking about, second this does seem like a reboot of the franchise and the trailer implies that they've swapped out the origin they made up for the first one (his entire extended family being killed because he busted John Travolta's son or something) and replaced it with the original one where He, his wife, and his daughter stumble onto two hitmen who kill his family, which fits the whole idea of the punisher more since a big theme is random violence. The Film itself however doesn't look so good.
- cesclaveria, on 06/13/2008, -0/+4The Punisher started as a Spider-Man character (he blamed spider-man of killing Gwen Stacy), so it is natural that may be some cameos of other characters or maybe some shield related stuff.
- jgtg32a, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1I thought it was because of the physical requirements he didn't want to have to work that hard.
- EmperorAwesome, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1Well, yay for integrity. This should let everyone know to never ever ever check this ***** out, seeing as he wanted to be the punisher again so badly. The script must suck all manner of ass to cause him to bail.
- ZenMojo, on 06/13/2008, -0/+2Clown in the picture? It's ***** Ray Stevenson, Gaius Catullus ***** Major.

- lordewoks, on 06/13/2008, -10/+3I'm waiting for the Punisher vs. Spiderman crossover movie....
- h0ser, on 06/13/2008, -2/+15It's pulo from Rome!!!! The best character on television. I'm glad this guy was able to get a job after Rome. He had a short stint on a pilot revolving around zombies, but havnt' seen him since.
- xtinamo, on 06/13/2008, -0/+5Pullo was such a badass..

- sycsix, on 06/13/2008, -12/+7Fool me once...
The only way I'll see this is if i get a check back for the first $7.50 i wasted on the original. - pascalosti, on 06/13/2008, -9/+4first one was crap, this one looks like it will follow. Might be worth downloading.
- revmhatt, on 06/13/2008, -1/+15I love The Punisher...which is why I hate this *****. Pulo is awesome, Punisher is awesome but this movie looks like crap.
At least it'll have an R rating this time around. Maybe gratuitous violence will cover the crap like cinematic newspaper on the carpet of my eyes.- plaing, on 06/13/2008, -1/+4nice metaphor!
(the 'R' rating newspaper didn't cover the giant deuce that shyamalan dropped in the middle of the living room in The Happening, though) - jgtg32a, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1The Happening was bad?
Would you be kind enough to go on just reply to me and go on?
--Possible spoilers Below for The Happening--
but most likely flames and links to http://*****.com/
- plaing, on 06/13/2008, -1/+4nice metaphor!
- DarksiderUK, on 06/13/2008, -2/+5I can honestly say that I haven't really got any confidence that this will do the comic justice or be a good film. It's got GHOST RIDER written all over it.
- eggballs, on 06/13/2008, -11/+0Yay for more violent movies!!!
Evolve already.- Synyk, on 06/13/2008, -1/+3human DIGIVOLVE INTOOOOO.... EGGBALLLLLSSSSS!!!
- eggballs, on 06/13/2008, -1/+0For case in point, see above.
- Synyk, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1violence is entertaining.
Humans can't evolve from their primitive roots in less than a century buddy. We like violence, no matter how smart we claim to be. It's in your ***** genes. Snap out of denial.

- bicyclethief, on 06/13/2008, -8/+2Chow Yun-Fat as the Punisher would have been an interesting twist on the comic book character.
(Yeah, any crazier than Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury?)- TheUnlearn, on 06/13/2008, -1/+10Considering Ultimate Nick Fury was modeled on Samuel L. Jackson? yes, crazier.
- bicyclethief, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1Why do you hate asians?
- TheUnlearn, on 06/13/2008, -1/+10Considering Ultimate Nick Fury was modeled on Samuel L. Jackson? yes, crazier.
- Thefascist, on 06/13/2008, -7/+2the one with dolf loundren has yet to be beaten, that includes this latest piece of garbage. Everything is just so toned down now adays, now violence no nothing. ***** THING SUCKS.
- Apocalyptic0n3, on 06/13/2008, -2/+6I actually liked Jane. He showed too much emotion for the part, though, I think.
- eblondee, on 06/13/2008, -0/+0I don't know if it was too little emotion...more like the right emotion never really came through. I feel like he didn't seem "tortured" enough, I didn't have a wave of empathy for his version of the character. That's what I think about when I think of the punisher, someone pushed completely over the edge.
I liked the Tom Jane movie though, the fight scenes in it were well done. Just lacked substance in the end as a crime-drama / comic-book-hero crossover...- Apocalyptic0n3, on 06/15/2008, -0/+1Yeah, I have to agree. I liked Travolta and what's his face from Armageddon and Gone In 60 Seconds and like 50 other films. (I hate role actors. I can never remember their names. >.>)
- eblondee, on 06/13/2008, -0/+0I don't know if it was too little emotion...more like the right emotion never really came through. - Conwaysb0718, on 06/13/2008, -8/+5I always kinda thought vinnie jones, were he not the juggernaut (bitch) would have made a good punisher.
- N3k74r, on 06/13/2008, -2/+2I agree with sweaterjon about this looking like a straight-to-dvd film, I don't have high hopes for this.
- TomT223, on 06/13/2008, -6/+1Ray Stevenson was a good choice.
- Gbobrt4, on 06/13/2008, -6/+1And I quote, "Sometimes I'd like like to get my hands on God." /shrug..... who knows.
- CrackyJSquirrel, on 06/13/2008, -7/+2Third time is the charm I hope.. The other two stunk worse than an old hookers vagina..
- CrackyJSquirrel, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1So is it the vagina comment? Or are there really people who think the first two punishers were good?
- CrackyJSquirrel, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1So is it the vagina comment? Or are there really people who think the first two punishers were good?
- west7049, on 06/13/2008, -6/+32Tom Jane looked like a hitman, this guy looks like a garbage man with guns. :(
- SaladCactusKing, on 06/13/2008, -0/+9That's actually a step in the right direction.
- RobotKeaton, on 06/13/2008, -10/+6Is Punisher being played by Steven Segal impersonator?
- CarnivalOfDust, on 06/13/2008, -4/+4I actually loved the first movie. I wanted a sequel, damnit. But I must admit, this does look more Punisher-y. I'm excited!
- FrankTheTank17, on 06/13/2008, -8/+6Woa woa woa, why are people saying the first Punisher was bad? That was by far one of the best action movies I've ever seen. It's story is so deep and makes the ending that much better.
The trailer for this one looks like garbage. =- Radan, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1Hello, I am a wannabe German on steriods, conveniently named "The German". Nevermind me, I'm just here to bust your head in while your neighbours are dancing around to Beethoven. Did I say I was German?
I think that scene pretty much summed up everything that is wrong with The Punisher.- evilhomestereo, on 06/13/2008, -0/+2Do you mean "The Russian?"
- Radan, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1Perhaps he was, the scene was so bad that I got a blackout by it.
- evilhomestereo, on 06/13/2008, -0/+2Do you mean "The Russian?"
- jgtg32a, on 06/13/2008, -0/+2I'm guessing you didn't read the comics?

- ninjan, on 06/13/2008, -6/+1They should have kept Dolph as the Punisher. Seen that movie about 12 times.
- TheUnlearn, on 06/13/2008, -5/+0Is anyone else having trouble with IGN's ***** movie player?
- petethepanda, on 06/13/2008, -2/+12Wait... there are people who didn't like the Tom Jane Punisher, but think this looks good? Really?
- ZenMojo, on 06/13/2008, -1/+1Yes. There are.
- wallryan, on 06/13/2008, -6/+1wtf is with all the buried comments??/
- badjoke, on 06/13/2008, -1/+1Digg comments have gone to hell lately.
- bashnu, on 06/13/2008, -3/+6Whenever they do action movies scenes in factories you know it is going to be bad.
- ZenMojo, on 06/13/2008, -0/+2Because Shoot 'Em Up was ass^.
- bashnu, on 06/14/2008, -0/+1ok you got me there

- FranzySF, on 06/13/2008, -1/+4Looks horrible.
- bonesmile, on 06/13/2008, -2/+3I really dug the Thomas Jane Punisher...I agree this looks straight to DVD. It did have a few cool shots in it, though. I'll probably Netflix it, that's about it.
- bridow, on 06/13/2008, -4/+3why the name?
war journal > war zone - suttercain, on 06/13/2008, -1/+3I am a huge fan of the Punisher MAX series and I do like the look of this film, however it looks low in content. The entire trailer is shooting. I hope this ahs have some type of plot. I am in the minority and I really enjoyed the Thomas Jane Punisher. I liked the characters and I hope War Zone is good... but it appears it may not be.
- ZenMojo, on 06/13/2008, -1/+2It's a trailer. What, you want the entire movie spoiled for you like Iron Man and The Hulk?
- bluedragon1981, on 06/13/2008, -5/+6Burried since the movie looks terrible and they didn't keep any original casting...
- iamnobody8614, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1Ya, wtf happened to Thomas Jane. I thought he did an excellent job despite the script of the first one.
- ismschisms, on 06/13/2008, -0/+13Needs more Barracuda.
- SaladCactusKing, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1"Oswald, you a bad ass *****' gangsta!"
- thegoudster, on 06/13/2008, -1/+12I think this will make Hollywood 0 for 3 on Punisher movies.
- raynar, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1no love for drago?
"I will break you".
*****, wrong movie.
- raynar, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1no love for drago?
- Thezeppelin62, on 06/13/2008, -6/+1It looks better than the last one.
- gameyharp, on 06/13/2008, -0/+6Looks, meh.
- slashpslayer, on 06/13/2008, -5/+4Yeah give me the Lundgren version any day.
- Dreadnok, on 06/13/2008, -1/+4I'd watch this movie if it had Ray Stevens in it. Really though, it looks terrible.
- stigmataman, on 06/13/2008, -0/+3Uh, is it rated R? Looks like an awful abortion, but a Punisher movie that's rated R would rock the world.
