- bixby1, on 07/16/2008, -3/+199Yeah, I'll admit it, I got the chills.
- superal1394, on 07/16/2008, -16/+54I got chills... of fear that they are going to continue to rape an amazing movie and destroy its credibility.
They should have stopped at 2.- jimmiss, on 07/16/2008, -10/+17Yeah but the TV series rocks. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if they ruin it like The Matrix.
- Chompy, on 07/16/2008, -1/+133 wasn't as bad as it could have been, and Bale can be a damned good actor, but come on.. ***** McG? How the hell is he still working after Charlie's Angels 2?
- mediaphile, on 07/17/2008, -5/+19@jimmiss:
You must be joking.
The TV series is one of the worst bastardizations of an intellectual property ever created. Even the Robocop TV show had more integrity.
They seriously tried to pass off sexual tension between the (unnecessarily) female cyborg and John Connor.
Someone's taking the piss with that one.
Also, I hate McG as much as the next guy, but I think he will do better with a movie about killer robots than he did with the kitschy remake of the kitschy 70's show about sexy bubbly female spies. A movie is only as good as the script, and John August blows. On the other hand, the new Terminator movie is written by the same guys that wrote T3, so maybe I shouldn't hold out much hope after all. - honesttussey, on 07/17/2008, -4/+10"Yeah but the TV series rocks."
forgot your sarcasm tag. - tony23, on 07/17/2008, -5/+3T3 actually brought the story full circle. The thing is, T3 ENDED the story.
But since hollywood can't come up with NEW ideas, they have to subject us to this crap. - MacSuxWindozSux, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2There's nothing wrong with using old ideas. The problem only develops when all you can do is old ideas.
So I won't complain just because a sequel film is being made.
I mean hey if they stopped at "The Fellowship of the Ring", I would have been disappointed. - rpgmaker, on 07/17/2008, -3/+1@mediaphile: I completely agree with you, the TV show should have never passed quality control. I glanced at it the other day and notice the sexual tension between the female cyborg and John Connor, it was ridiculous, that kind of thing was never intended in the Terminator universe. Also, the number of females on the show demonstrate how the entertainment industry has changed in the last few years. T3 demonstrated this too, I liked the movie tho but I agree with tony23, for me, everything ended with T3 and it was a good ending, I was surprised to find people that didn't like it on digg, it wasn't better than the previous versions but it was good.
- Kanten, on 07/17/2008, -2/+7>T3 actually brought the story full circle. The thing is, T3 ENDED the story.
No, actually, T2 ENDED the story.

- dn11, on 07/17/2008, -0/+9ok, I'm kind of interested now. I'm getting kind of an Aliens meets Black Hawk Down vibe from this. Not much to see here - but it sets a tone.

Christian Bale is awesome
But it's directed by the guy who produced the OC (McG)?- tetraelement, on 07/16/2008, -10/+3AND McG made Fast Lane... seriously that was the best show fox had, other than Firefly
- mlvassallo, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2Are you thinking of Chuck? That is one of my favorite shows.
- Killwize, on 07/17/2008, -16/+1Christian Bale is the worst modern actor, Period!
But I do love McG ...Full Throttle Baby!
Every movie he has been in is *****! - Phil1ip123, on 07/17/2008, -0/+5I guess you forgot about Arrested Development.
- jmpeagle, on 07/17/2008, -0/+4yeah because the guy in the $6000 dollar suit has to remember all of Fox's shows....COME ON!!
- Avaseal, on 07/16/2008, -11/+2I'm with you on that one. Terminator 3 somehow pulled off staying close to the same integrity as the 2nd one, But I'm skeptical that this one will be anywhere near as grounded. On the other hand Christian Bale has a knack for starring in good movies so I'm eager to see how this one turns out.
- RabeiUsura, on 07/17/2008, -4/+1Dude,
You forgot equilibrium. - HubrisDeadPan, on 07/17/2008, -0/+8Some of us liked Equilibrium.

- Avaseal, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2I like Equilibrium..just to clarify, I wasn't dogging Christian Bale.. American Psycho was awesome
- RabeiUsura, on 07/17/2008, -4/+1Dude,
- Oddjobber, on 07/17/2008, -0/+12He also directed Charlie's Angels, I and II.
- dalittle, on 07/17/2008, -1/+3That is not saying much.
- iamnobody8614, on 07/17/2008, -1/+5I think that was an argument going against him dalittle.
- stonebone4, on 07/17/2008, -2/+13He also directed the video for "Pretty Fly For A White Guy."
Oh, *****. - phooldyou, on 07/17/2008, -1/+8MacGyver?
- loganrapp, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2McG isn't Uwe Boll, so I'm content to give this a shot.
- wogfella, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2supernatural? others?
- lamiaconfitor, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2For that reason alone, I am going to wait for reviews, and depending, forget he is in it at all.
- Trav3133, on 07/17/2008, -3/+2producers do nothing except get their name in the credits.
- havokdu, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2Keep in mind that James Cameron specifically recommended McG for this movie.
- Morrison1002, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2jj abhrams did felicity, why not, maybe those guys do the BS shows so they can get there name known then they do the good stuff
- tetraelement, on 07/16/2008, -10/+3AND McG made Fast Lane... seriously that was the best show fox had, other than Firefly
- FZero68, on 07/16/2008, -16/+192I'll just say one thing, pg13, that is all.
- chocobomog, on 07/16/2008, -6/+107Terminator 1 would be PG-13 by today's standard (they may have to remove a F-bomb here and there). Heck, even Aliens violence is mild by today's standards.
There are some great, violent, sci-fi/fantasy movies that get away with a PG-13: Lord of the Rings, Transformers. Beowulf, Star Wars Ep 3, Fifth Element, etc. It won't have "Saw"-level gore, but you can see humans and terminators get seriously torn up in war in a PG-13 movie. Hell, The Dark Knight is supposed to be devastatingly brutal at PG-13.
If the studio gives a movie a bigger budget (which = more Terminators) because it is PG-13 and will have a larger audience, then so be it. Just show me some damn terminators and humans blowing each other away in a gritty, nuclear winter, future.
Also, R rated doesn't automatically make it "good". See: Matrix sequels.- EverTheCynic, on 07/16/2008, -6/+5Great and Star Wars Ep 3. One or the other doesn't belong in your comment.
- c0baltfish, on 07/17/2008, -0/+14Ghostbusters was PG and Bill Murray called someone dickless.
- Scaryclouds, on 07/17/2008, -7/+2@EverTheCynic
Of the prequels Ep 3 was definitely the best, maybe even as good or better than Return of the Jedi (which was the worst of the original). I guess I would agree with you saying Ep 3 wasn't a great movie, but I would definitely say it was a good movie and a couple of changes could have made it great. - jgtg32a, on 07/17/2008, -1/+4I haven't seen the matrix in a while but I don't remember that one really deserving the R rating either. One of my friends who was most likely full of it said that the Trinity shooting the agent at point blank ("dodge this") was added and was what threw it to R
@Scaryclouds
RotJ was the not the worst of the holy trinity - mimigins, on 07/17/2008, -0/+3The 2nd Matrix movie had some naked Trinity. The movie sucked, but I'm pretty sure that's the R rating.
- Andrewe1, on 07/17/2008, -0/+4Beetle juice was rated PG and theres the word "*****" in it.
- rpgmaker, on 07/17/2008, -5/+4***** you, I liked all of The Matrix movies, they were really good.
- Kanten, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2>Just show me some damn terminators and humans blowing each other away in a gritty, nuclear winter, future.
This is exactly why the Terminator series became so horrible. The basic theme of Terminator is FATE, not jugga robot battles. - Rikm, on 07/17/2008, -0/+1Jaws 3 was PG and that had a severed arm in it, in 3-*****-D. Scarred me for life.
Considering what the likes of Pirates of the Caribbean have been getting away with, I'm not bothered that T:Salvation is PG13, I'm pretty sure there'll still be lots of people getting their ***** messed up.
As others have said an R (18) rating nowadays just means there will be ***** and/or drug references, so all we can deduce from the rating of this film is that there definitely won't be a scene with lot's of people high on some post-apocalyptic form of E in an underground rave, intercut with two people ***** smack-bang in the middle of the film for no reason.
This is a good thing. - bakatrinh, on 07/17/2008, -0/+3Terminator 1 had sex and ***** and a dark scene of Arnold's penis. Definitely PG13 material
- SirBruce, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2It's true. That man had no dick.
- Scaryclouds, on 07/19/2008, -0/+1@jgtg
Ewoks
- kinseyincanada, on 07/16/2008, -1/+14the rating systems have very little to do with violence, look at the last Die Hard that was only PG13, just means there will be little sex and swearing.
- jgtg32a, on 07/17/2008, -0/+6I don't seem to remember there being any blood in that one either, IMO Die Hard 4 was a power ranger movie compared to the others.
- jonnyeh, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2Die Hard 4 sucked, there ya go. While an R rating is not sufficient for a good movie, it is necessary when the movie is a sequel to an R rated movie. Also see Aliens vs. Predator (a PG-13 movie based on two rated R franchises) for another franchise that got degraded, it hasn't recovered.
- russ3, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2The R-rated dvd was way better considering his catchphrase is yippi ki yay *****
- Jhiaxuz, on 07/16/2008, -1/+17In Canada we are more lenient in regards to the rating system. A good example of this would have been Saving Private Ryan in that it was only rated PG-13 here while it had a R rating in the USA. So, ratings are only generally limited to certain regions and we're not all shocked by PG-13 as the American public. It would seem like sex and drugs carry more weight on the rating board than violence these days.
Think of the most violent act in T2, which was rated R. To me, it was when the T-1000 took the form of the security guard and his finger pierced the other security guard's skull. Nothing to extravagant or graphic, but it served it's purpose to show that the T1000 does not ***** around. Compare that to what we have now and it seems pretty common and even a little calm.
In this movies case, I think the name of the director alone trumps any other worry that this film will tank. Although I sincerely hope it does not.- leetdood, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2Uh, dude, Canada doesn't have PG-13.
- IllBeBack, on 07/17/2008, -5/+1The MPAA and their rating system does not represent me and I am an American citizen.
***** the MPAA up their corn-filled assholes. - Uranium118, on 07/17/2008, -0/+1Most violent movies are rated 13+ here. It has to be really gory to get a 16+ rating. The last movie that comes to my mind is Saw. 18+ is only reserved to movies with sex and nudity.
- Rapter09, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2We may not have an EXACT thing called PG-13 in Canada, but we have the equivalent. In Canada - for those of you who wish to know - it's broken down by province. Each province sets its own ratings system, but they generally follow somewhat of an unofficial standard. In some cases certain provinces don't have ratings at all, they just follow another provinces board. Newfoundland and the Northwest Territories are a good example of this. I think NFLD follows the Maritime Film Classification Board; they're not actually a member of the MFCB but they do generally follow their guidelines. Where I live its broken down like this:
G (All Ages)
PG (12+)
Adult Accompaniment (14+), unless you're under 14 then you have to be accompanied by an adult.
18+
XXX - mmm pr0n
E - Exempt (kids cartoons, instructional videos, etc.)
Dark Knight is rated PG up here in Canada. - jonnyeh, on 07/17/2008, -0/+1There's no Canadian rating system, it's done by the province.
Ontario rates films differently than Quebec, etc.
Quebec tends to be very lenient in its ratings, which is cool. I've never seen a movie there with a rating higher than '13+'.
In Ontario, an 'R' rating means no one under 18 is allowed. It's pretty extreme, worse than the American NC-17 (which limits people under 17). It's not nearly as common as the American 'R' though.
I remember that 'Freddy Got Fingered' and 'The Cell' were R, I'm glad that I wasn't allowed in.
- fowleryo, on 07/16/2008, -1/+14The Dark Knight is also PG-13
- Sk8SkaNJ, on 07/17/2008, -2/+2Batman = Doesn't kill people
Terminator = Designed to kill people
does this really need to be pointed out? - Goblin, on 07/17/2008, -2/+1Batman doesn't kill people? I need to watch Batman Begins again before going to see Dark Knight, but I would have sworn several goons were offed in the container scene.
- Samg85, on 07/17/2008, -1/+2Batman kills a lot of Joker's goons in the original Batman. When he blew up Axis Chemicals, there were some people in there.
- Sk8SkaNJ, on 07/17/2008, -2/+2Batman = Doesn't kill people
- dn11, on 07/16/2008, -0/+12big studios can just pay off the MPAA to get the rating they want. the more money and clout the studio has the more feedback they get on which 1.4 seconds needs to be edited out in order to get the rating they need. and of course as long as it has no sexual content you can pretty much do anything you want. decapitations? sure. disembowelment? why not? nipple? OH *****! R! we wouldn't want anyone under 17 to know what a human body looks like, that is perverse
- gcnaddict, on 07/17/2008, -0/+1*sigh*
Airplane got a PG rating back in the 80s, and they showed a full pair of exposed, perfectly formed *****.
- gcnaddict, on 07/17/2008, -0/+1*sigh*
- nascentia, on 07/16/2008, -0/+5McG said that the PG-13 wasn't true this month.
- kolinkoolface2, on 07/17/2008, -3/+1i think it will be rated R. All the other terminator movies are rated R if i am not mistaken.
- Thefatheroftime, on 07/17/2008, -0/+3Noooooooooooo!!!!!
- oliversan, on 07/17/2008, -3/+4Just because McG has directed bad films and TV shows doesn't mean that he is a bad director. Alot of people seem to think the director has complete creative control over every facet of anything they work on. I for one will save my judgement until I see the film for myself.
- jonnyeh, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2If thie film quality was out of his control, he should've signed his name as 'Alan Smithee' in order to not take credit.
- TheGreatBelow, on 07/17/2008, -0/+7You know, I don't even care man. Christian Bale man. Bale yo.
- Dwebtron, on 07/17/2008, -1/+2***** bale. he's already batman, i don't want him as John Connor too.
Besides, he's too manly. John Conner is supposed to be a bit of a pussy who's pushed around by robots. Bale is too manly to have that happen to him
- Dwebtron, on 07/17/2008, -1/+2***** bale. he's already batman, i don't want him as John Connor too.
- rhepark, on 07/17/2008, -0/+0I'm sure ratings would be subject to change as the actual release date approaches. They probably haven't even CG'd all the gore yet anyways...

- WarMachineWCLH, on 07/16/2008, -0/+30That would be awesome. Really what you want then is basically the opening to Saving Private Ryan, only with Terminators instead of Germans and a bombed out Southern California instead of beaches of Normandy.
- anagoge, on 07/16/2008, -0/+17You had a Terminator that was Austrian, what more do you want!
- EverTheCynic, on 07/16/2008, -1/+8I'll take it!
- EverTheCynic, on 07/16/2008, -1/+4I'd love to see a good ten minute battle shot without cuts. I love a good ten minute shot without cuts and a battle with terminators would make it an amazing logistical nightmare.
- LilRabbitFooFoo, on 08/11/2008, -0/+4You saw that in the final Matrix crapfest film. Without solid character development with stakes we are invested in as an audience and a director who can pull it all together, 45 minutes of action won't have any lasting impact whatsoever. So, while I hope this is better than T3, McG has not shown in the past he even has the faintest idea of what I'm talking about here.
Oh, and with the same amateur hour writers as T3...and a rewrite credit by over-rated ultra hack Paul Haggis...
Have low expectations. VERY low expectations.
Looks like this was a paycheck gig for Bale. :(- BigW, on 07/17/2008, -0/+1Speaking of the writers, there's rumored to be a MAJOR plot twist at the end. If the rumors are true (and I will find out before spending a dime on this movie), I will NEVER see this film. I made the mistake of just going to see Alien 3, I will not make that mistake with Terminator.
I think very low expectations are in order for this film.

- poidh, on 07/16/2008, -11/+41The film is going to be PG-13, which means it won't be realistic at all. How can you have a Terminator film without ultraviolence?
- Jhiaxuz, on 07/16/2008, -3/+14I think you have a narrow interpretation of what ultra-violence is and how Terminator was not the most violent movie around then and especially now.
- Pixelante, on 07/17/2008, -8/+3Most Diggers have never watched "A Clockwork Orange" because their ages are still in the single digit figures.
- poidh, on 07/17/2008, -0/+1Ultraviolence does not mean that the film is the most violent one out there.
The original Terminator was "ultraviolent" in the sense that it showed a man having his heart ripped out and the indescriminate killing of humans, in line with the terminator's programming.
- jgtg32a, on 07/17/2008, -2/+2which means it won't be realistic at all.
Um? - mrshickadance9, on 07/17/2008, -2/+2It's a movie about killer robots in the future. How can it be realistic?
- poidh, on 07/17/2008, -0/+3It can be realistic enough to immerse the viewer in the film.
- HaMMeReD, on 07/17/2008, -0/+4With slightly toned down language T2 would probably pass as pg-13 nowadays.
As long as there isn't excessive gore or suffering, and with terminator there is a lot of robots so it's CGI mostly and you can do all kinds of tearing them up without breaking the pg limit.
It's just when humans start getting their arms ripped off, and blood is very noticeable that it starts to go to R nowadays, or a titty, one single female titty will get you a R rating instantly.
- Jhiaxuz, on 07/16/2008, -3/+14I think you have a narrow interpretation of what ultra-violence is and how Terminator was not the most violent movie around then and especially now.

- blogosphear, on 07/16/2008, -0/+8Apparently to accept his new found fanbase with americans he will be speaking in an american accent whenever he can. He did this during his interview on HBO first look for the Dark Knight. I was like wait a minute where did his accent go?!
- EverTheCynic, on 07/16/2008, -0/+9I seem to remember him saying that he knew he was portraying what was essentially an American icon and he didn't want to ruin that for the fans with his normal voice, not even during interviews. Sounds like a pretty good dude overall.
- inefekt, on 07/17/2008, -10/+3***** Americans are so unbelievably sheltered. He needs to speak in an American accent just so they accept him? That's ***** pathetic, not for Bale but for his yank fans...........

- Wildthing, on 07/17/2008, -0/+4I had mixed feelings about T3, but I don't think it'll be the same to me without Arnold...this series was made for him. Mechanical sounding voice, not much talking but short and cheesy one-liners, and last but not least, blowing everything up.

- thrillki1l, on 07/16/2008, -1/+30I'll see it but I hate how the terminator message has been changed so much. the first 2 movies were about how we can change our future and don't have to end up killing each other. But the 3rd movie completely changed it and said the future is unchangeable.
- scubaman5000, on 07/16/2008, -0/+61I thought the message of the 3rd one was that there was still some cash that could be milked from the Terminator franchise.
- thePTS, on 07/16/2008, -2/+5I thought I heard a message along the lines of "come on.. just do it.. get out of the theater.. this is the most boring 45 minutes you've had in months"
- gaqua, on 07/16/2008, -0/+19Which is kind of the bleak reality. The machines' plan should have worked. John Conner should have been killed by the machines. There's no reason one person going into the past should have prevented that. Their plan in the 2nd should have worked, too. The T1000 was much, much more advanced.
The overall message has always been the same. You can change the details, but the events still occur. There's nothing more disconcerting than knowing that you have to work your ass off to fight to maintain the status quo of future events.- BenKenobi88, on 07/17/2008, -0/+6Which...doesn't really make any sense.
They could have sent a robot to kill him while he was still in the womb...heck it could have gone to kill his great great grandmother...while SHE was still in the womb! They could TOTALLY change the past, it just wouldn't be a good movie. - Chigurh, on 07/17/2008, -0/+4You make a good point, but they did actually go back in the first one to kill his mother before he was even conceived.
- iamvahe, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2Though the act of sending a terminator back to kill his mother caused him to be conceived. So many loop holes. Its as if the machines could've done nothing and he would not have existed.
- BigW, on 07/17/2008, -0/+1What you say is true about the first two movies, but its also a paradox. If skynet isn't in the future, then John Connor can never exist.
- BenKenobi88, on 07/17/2008, -0/+6Which...doesn't really make any sense.
- polygons, on 07/16/2008, -0/+4Humans continously ***** up and don't learn from mistakes or Hollywood wants our money?
- youralbatross, on 07/17/2008, -0/+5I thought the message of the first movie was that we cannot change the future - that any attempt to change the future will create the very future we were trying to prevent.
- LilRabbitFooFoo, on 08/11/2008, -1/+3The people who created Terminator 1 & 2 are not involved in these schlock fest sequels. T3 and T4 are just cash cow studio pieces. It's why there are only bad writers and bad directors attached to these. No one worth a damn would take these garbage gigs.
- iamvahe, on 07/17/2008, -0/+1I agree with you about T3. But I'll reserve my judgement about T4 as somehow, I have faith in Christian Bale not to take on a project unless its good.
- scubaman5000, on 07/16/2008, -0/+61I thought the message of the 3rd one was that there was still some cash that could be milked from the Terminator franchise.

- SilentRamble42, on 07/17/2008, -2/+2Sure as hell isn't my Terminator, either. As far as I'm concerned, 3 and 4 are just high budget fan films.
- Biddypapa, on 07/16/2008, -7/+2I might actually have to see this. Hopefully it'll take itself a little more seriously this time around since you don't have a guy in his 50's trying to play the same role he did 12 years ago.

- anagoge, on 07/16/2008, -2/+2It's gonna be hard to be the lead role in two popular franchises. I do hope he's not typecast.
- Xihix, on 07/16/2008, -0/+6Christian Bale... typecast?
does not compute - Halsfield, on 07/16/2008, -0/+0i don't think its a bad thing to be typecast as a badass. Once he does enough action/thriller films he can do whatever he likes since he'll have truckloads of money after the completion of the batman series + all the other blockbusters he's been in: equilibrium, 3:10 to yuma, prestige, etc.
He's incredibly diverse in his acting, able to play many different kinds of roles(although most of his movies are action or action/thrillers) and really give the movies he's in a kind of credibility a lot of other actors just dont bring to the screen.
So typecast or not, i think he'll be alright- fredkreuger, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2"all the other blockbusters he's been in: equilibrium, 3:10 to yuma, prestige, etc."

- Wildthing, on 07/17/2008, -0/+1I dunno....I think he may be typecast as "badass". When people say "hey, we need a badass for this movie", they may call him. Just like whenever they need one guy against the world they call Will Smith (Enemy of the State, I Robot, I am Legend, Men In Black, Independence Day, heck, even The Pursuit of Happyness was him against the world)

One thing im curious about, is that he says its not the future his mother told him about, whats different i wonder? It happened just like she was told by the guy that got sent back in t1(forget his name) , machines took over, tried to wipe out humanity, now they're struggling to survive and being hunted by the assassination robots of the terminator line of machines. He could just mean its a lot worse than he imagined , but maybe there's more to it.- marx2k, on 07/17/2008, -0/+1"It happened just like she was told by the guy that got sent back in t1(forget his name)"

- mimigins, on 07/17/2008, -1/+11I hope Arnold at least makes a cameo... How can you have Terminator without him!
- fred0204, on 07/17/2008, -3/+4Sarah Connor Chronicles is doing a great job of it.
- geneticlone, on 07/17/2008, -1/+3Thats cus' there are two really hot chicks in it :-)
- dturnbull, on 07/17/2008, -2/+2That show is terrible.
- digu, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2"No Arnold = No Care"
That's what I thought first, until I heard Christian Bale was in the lead role as Connor. I think he could carry the film himself.
- CrimsonBlur, on 07/16/2008, -3/+23Normally I would agree, but Christian Bale more than makes up for the absence of Arnold.
- PRGUY85, on 07/16/2008, -0/+5Hmm...made to get you pumped but McG is the director here and he hasn't made anything I have liked (Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle...). Hope he has what it takes to take the Terminator "mythology" and make a good post-apocalyptic war movie. It's a gamble since the Terminator franchise is set with a horror/chase genre behind it and maybe the ever-looming future was not meant to be portrayed. That would make it a different movie all together and perhaps not what the story was made for which was a reason for the chase.
Having said that, the talent (Bale) and story is there to have a different sci-fi genre movie set against the backdrop of the Terminator future. Would have to see how the movie will do without the Arnold (or any Terminator) presence which was a core of the movie. And...hope McG proves me wrong but any guy that uses initials for his "artistic" name already is at a disadvantage in my book. Either he has one ugly ass name or he's a pretentious prick. Hope it's the former for all Terminator fans' sake.- jgtg32a, on 07/17/2008, -0/+1Putting a good actor in a bad movie doesn't make the movie good.
see: "I am Legend"- PRGUY85, on 07/17/2008, -0/+0You haven't seen this movie yet so give it a chance...
- jgtg32a, on 07/17/2008, -0/+1Putting a good actor in a bad movie doesn't make the movie good.
- gaqua, on 07/16/2008, -8/+3It'd be great to see a reboot of the Terminator franchise in about 10 years.
Take a 10 year moratorium, stop making Terminator movies, and start over at the beginning in 2018. Make it more distant in the future, beyond just 20-30 years, something more like 300 years. Send Reese back from the dystopian future, have more technologically advanced terminators, and produce it more as a horror/action film than an action/sci-fi. Think of how unsettling it would be if the terminator was mostly unseen and not just a big lumbering hulk.- blankoboy, on 07/17/2008, -0/+6By 2018 we'll be getting a "real life" version of this scenario so don't worry yourself just now.
- WarMachineWCLH, on 07/16/2008, -0/+9I'm confused... aren't the 4th movies in a franchise supposed to suck? I mean it's entirely too soon to tell for sure but didn't someone give them the memo?
- ShaneMcDeath, on 07/17/2008, -0/+13All the more reason to refuse to acknowledge the existence of number 3
- knifesideleft, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2Normally that may be true but usually the 2nd movie sucks more then the first but its arguably equal or better in this case so maybe t4 has a chance
- weston45, on 07/17/2008, -0/+9But you forget the exception when the 3rd movie of said franchise sucks.
- LilRabbitFooFoo, on 08/11/2008, -1/+2There is no exception here. Cameron and Hurd are NOT involved in these hack fests (T3 and T4). That is why they SUCK so mightily.
Pass. - skingers, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2Star Trek IV - non suck
- ShaneMcDeath, on 07/17/2008, -0/+13All the more reason to refuse to acknowledge the existence of number 3
- sark666, on 07/16/2008, -0/+5Of course they have the famous theme (dun dun dun da dun), but a sound I always loved is that repeating humming whirling sound you hear whenever the t1000 was on screen in t2. They gotta mix that sound in somehow.
- mark1881, on 07/16/2008, -6/+1WTF...they're making a T4 before making a Robocop 4! This sucks balls!
- gaqua, on 07/16/2008, -0/+5You actually think after Robocop 3 there's anybody who would touch that concept with a 10 foot pole?
- punkcat, on 07/17/2008, -0/+5how about after terminator 3?
- punkcat, on 07/17/2008, -0/+5how about after terminator 3?
- hkrob, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2you're only part right, the next Robocop has been mentioned already.
http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Robocop-Poster-9134 ... - PhillyMJS, on 07/17/2008, -0/+4I'd rather they make a fourth Robocop than remake the original Robocop, which is actually happening.
(Oh, yeah, they're remaking Red Dawn, too... that was mentioned in the same news article. The wallop of the combined news just about made me physically ill.)- skunks, on 07/17/2008, -0/+3Red Dawn 2008? I can see it now:
TITLE CARD: Al Qaeda takes over the world. America stands alone.
CUT TO: Dudes in sandals and turbans crossing the Mexican border.
CUT TO: A soccer field in suburban Tucson, where the Walmart Wolverines are playing a game against their arch-rivals the Target Tigers, when suddenly they spot the infidel invaders. Thanks to low prices and Chinese manufactured weapons, they drive Al-Qaeda back across the border and save the US.
- skunks, on 07/17/2008, -0/+3Red Dawn 2008? I can see it now:
- Br3ach, on 07/17/2008, -0/+3I think you forget how badly Robocop 2 and 3 suck balls compared to the first.
But, they are remaking the first one again!- Rivfader, on 07/17/2008, -0/+4Hey man you wanna try some nuke?
- punkcat, on 07/17/2008, -0/+3i'll buy that for a dollar.
- gaqua, on 07/16/2008, -0/+5You actually think after Robocop 3 there's anybody who would touch that concept with a 10 foot pole?
- snoobies, on 07/16/2008, -7/+2Yawn...
On the upside they didn't give the plot away. As long as it's not another terminator in the future going back in time to kill O'conner I'll go watch it. I wonder who is playing the terminator if there will be one. It's funny though how the previous O'conners were scrawny and this one is buff.- krd1979, on 07/17/2008, -0/+6It's just Connor dude.
- WallnutBoy, on 07/17/2008, -0/+3I think the future is nao. Hence the tagline 'The End Begins' or whatever it was... I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a glimpse of Arnie just before he gets sent back in time, or something.. that'd actually be pretty interesting =/
- shiftt, on 07/16/2008, -1/+9Out in summer of 2009?
What a ***** tease.
I get the feeling that at some point we're going to start seeing trailers for movies out in 2014. - ndseifi, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2Christian Bale = Epic Win. Everybody needs a slice.
