Also, Rainfall is indie, and I don't see Nintendo licensing to a small place to make a movie that should be so big.

        We'll see how it holds up when I get to hear the performances. It just might lose something.

And IGN easily has enough money to make a movie. I'm not saying its not a joke.... but it could just as easily just be a bad release day/bad movie. Got any other proof?
          • DaManDOH, on 04/01/2008, -0/+4Go to any Gencon, E3, Comicon, or similar conference and see just how much effort -- and occasionally money -- cosplayers put into their hobby. It's damned surprising what a creative mind can cobble together when it's inspired. It's entirely possible IGN merely cattle-called cosplayers for performances/costume work and did this whole thing on the cheap.

            As for the CGI, it's passable, but there are never any overlays or creature animations, which are the toughest and most expensive aspects. Anyone with a tablet pad, a decent desktop, plenty of patience, and an eye for details could render a 3d rotoscoped version of Hyrule.

Have you seen the trailer for 'teeth'? who would have thought that was actually real, but there it is. Real. Or an indie film? Maybe its an internet release only movie? Where the standards for special effects are lower. I'm just saying, don't shoot it down as fake until you know for certain it is just that, fake. Anythings possible. it's the 90s or so.

            That's the group that made the trailer. As you can see, the credits are listed there, so unless you think that small amount of people can produce, write and star in (notice the cast is a total of 7 people) a feature length movie then it is confirmed that no full-length zelda movie is in production, at least not related to this trailer.

            Oh yeah, and the trailer happens to come out on april fools while also saying that the movie will be released next april 1st? Why would you need any proof beyond that?

I'm just playing devils advocate, i just don't want to say. FAKE! until, i read something credible saying its fake, and not just a misguided attempt at another videogame movie. Think mario brothers, the production values on that were..... if you saw it you john-lame-guazamo know.

I've never seen a single movie without any "Guy with Bag" "Other Guy with Bag" "Peasant" etc... etc... You'll also notice that in all those shots there were no people in the background of the shots, only the main characters. If you truly believe the cast of a feature length movie consists of 7 people than you need to go watch more movies. And get your head examined. Healthy skepticism is fine, but you seem to take delight in taking it to extreme levels. I wish the president had had your level of skepticism about the Iraq WMD intelligence.

            If bush waited for PROOF, instead of jumping to conclusions based on his closest circle and inferior judgment skills, we wouldn't be in this war. The same holds true for you, if you had some proof, we wouldn't be in this.

            I really didn't hope this is a real movie, because it looks awful. But now I hope it does, just so i can shove it in your condescending face.

The majority of Americans were against the war and the majority of digg users agree this was a hoax. I'm all for making your own mind, but it seems like you're disagreeing just to disagree. I can agree that you're probably right about the list of actors, but you still didn't say anything about the rest of my arguments (no background extras, and I mean none, the trailer release date and the film release date both being april 1st (unlikely unless the film was about fools/tricks or something), or even that the group that made it haven't made a film that has been released in theaters, and nintendo is unlikely to allow them to use the zelda license if they couldn't make any money or get it into theaters).

            Oh, and btw, IGN admits it's an april fools joke, so, *cough* there's your proof.

    Although the girl did look like Princess Zelda, LINK WAS AWFUL! I personally always thought that Legolass in lord of the rings would make a good link..as far as that goes, Peter Jackson would be the best director for the film...sure it would get comparisons to Lord of the Rings, but atleast I could breath a sigh of relief that it would be done correctly. When are movie studios going to get ideas of their own and stop regurgitating past pop culture?
