  • basye, on 10/06/2008, -0/+13What made me feel old is when our teenage son began buying cd's of groups/people from the 70's and we still had original albums in a box in the closet. Of course when he wanted to confiscate them and sell them on Ebay, we put our foot down.
    Ugh.

But I think it's cool they're discovering the Kinks, Otis Redding and the Byrds, while also listening to Animal Collective and Radiohead. And no, I don't feel old; just listening to Hank Williams or Sam Cooke makes me feel like I'm 21.

  • implicitmemory, on 10/06/2008, -0/+10I don't think it's a matter of feeling old. Maybe it's just that our musical tastes have diversified over time. I am all about loud music (still), but speed metal with cookie monster vocals just doesn't get played like it once used to.
