You can't say ALL indian movies are like this... Have you seen them all? Don't forget that Indian film industry is bigger than hollywood or any other film industry in number of films produced and number of tickets sold.
      BTW this video is from southern indian film industry which isn't exactly bollywood

    This is popular in both the India and US. Indians love it. Just consider it one of those 'different culture' kind of things. That's what i do, and i'm Indian. I can't really take it, so i don't watch it. It's not a joke/hoax/fake/whatever; people aspire to be in movies like this.

      I tought I was the only one, I cant stand the weird dancing which apprear from no where inbetween a movie.
      Also, all Indian movies have about the same plot line, its unbelievable people support that industry.

      I get so pissed when my parents ask me to watch an Indian movie, I say "its the same ***** over and over again, how do you guys watch that?"
      No offence to other indians here, indian movies are well over dull.

      and oh yea, you guys have to watch some low level actor dance moves or some old movies, hilarious

    They take all the good from our music culture, and they pass it through their own filter making it something completely unique.

    Its as if they see out entertainment industry as its meant to be seen, not mass produced and market tested, but simply people dancing for fun. It retains a sort of kitsch "American dream" ideal, where we feel better about ourselves when we hear about it from someone who aspires to become it.
  • Berkana, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Indian music videos are always great comedy. I saw a clip of an Indian Jesus movie called "Dayasagar", and I swear, it was one of the funniest things I had ever seen. Unlike the somber western depictions of Jesus, they choreographed the scene where Jesus enters Jerusalem ahead of passover with crazy Indian music and dancing that can only be described as Indian. I can just imagine an Indian remake of Titanic, or Brave Heart. Imagine what they would do to "the Last Samurai".
