Vicarious, Jambi, Right in Two, and Intension are all outstanding songs. You could make a case that Lateralus and Undertow are better than 10,000 Days but not "by a very large margin" and there is no way Opiate is better than 10,000 days.

It makes the front page, brings attention, and voila! A 30 sec superbowl spot. While there's nothing wrong with this viral strategy, in fact looking at the other contestants, she probably deserve it, there's one flaw. Digg users hate myspace. Besides, what so good about being signed with a major label nowadays?

      She might be able to drop the label a few years down the line and keep her popularity, but that label is still step 1 with how our society functions.

      In fairness to her she has a very good voice and looks cute but the whole thing is staged and having giving the "web cam" earthy feel to the videos just stinks of Lonelygirl15 tactics.

      I wouldn't be surprised if the marketing came before she was noticed.

      Start your own label or sign with an independent label that will actually give you money. Then capitalize on music that actually gets you attention, like the digg song, not the "heartfelt" song. Sell music on iTunes, sell merchandise, hold concerts. As cool as being on the superbowl is, I don't think signing with a major label will be the best career move for an artist.
