- jbassfretless, on 07/02/2008, -0/+8I guess I knew this was going on but I'm still stunned by the apparent lack of work it took to make what looked like a fairly legitimate video. It's only of slightly less quality that something I would expect to see on MTV. If MTV still showed music videos that is.
- davidlitts, on 07/02/2008, -1/+10This is why music is dead.
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 07/02/2008, -0/+3nah, music isn't dead. This is just why I can never listen to the radio anymore. There's plenty of real music out there that is damn good, you just won't generally find it on MTV or on the top 40 stations.
- flashingcurser, on 07/02/2008, -0/+3Start going to local shows in small bars. Patron your local music scene. Revive garage music scene. This is where all of the good stuff comes from. The music industry has always been able to sell crap to the public. I understand that The Monkeys didn't know how to play their instruments when their produced their first album. They learned after the fact.
- glasnostic, on 07/02/2008, -0/+6i'm not surprised one bit..
and i doubt this sort of thing is limited to one genre. - DrCrankenstein, on 07/02/2008, -1/+6Saw this a while back. Pretty silly.
Music isn't dead. Pop music will always be poppy and ridiculous like this. As a matter of fact, I think the music scene is more alive than it's been a while, just stop listening to top 40.- seretta24, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1amen to that. there is plenty of good music out there, just not the crap you hear on pop and mainstream hip-hop stations.
- MCA2142, on 07/02/2008, -2/+3I haven't yet seen a dugg wordpress story that survives the first day.
It's 2008 already...- atomicflare, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1There are dozens every week. Maybe you just don't realize they're powered by wordpress.
- ZPWeeks, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1You have seen many. You just didn't know that they were running Wordpress. You've only noticed the ones on cheap shared hosting, which won't survive frontpaging even if it's static HTML.
- MCA2142, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2Thanks for clearing that up guys!
I'm starting to realize that these poorly hosted sites running wordpress are the worst thing going for wordpress in terms of PR and marketing.
But now I know.
- chrisfarley, on 07/02/2008, -1/+1This is how a server crashes... No clever 500 error page... No more bandwidth...
- Stormwern, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1It's a really old video, so they probably din't expect high traffic.
- cave, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1Mirror?
- slaizer, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1Made popular 1 minutes ago, and already it's down.
Good work, Digg. - dangerdooms, on 07/02/2008, -1/+0It's down...oh yea it's wordpress.
- mk3k, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1Website is dead not music.
- FearlessFreep, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1redundant
- BornWithRage, on 07/02/2008, -0/+8ffs, just copy the youtube link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irk3_p15RJY - bblex82, on 07/02/2008, -5/+4Thats why i dont listen to pop *****... Rock is so much better. Take chevelle for instance, when you go see them live they can actually sing and play the way they sound on CD.
- mchisari, on 07/02/2008, -1/+3
That's funny. - cotaskmemalloc, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2Worst example ever. Do you really consider Chevelle to not be pop music? Because man, if you do, your musical tastes must be pretty lame.
- insanecee, on 07/02/2008, -1/+3read the headlines i wouldnt consider chevelle a group based on looks... duh jus because you may have heard one song doesnt consitute you as an expert. the genre of chevelle is rock not pop.
They (being rock groups in general) no how to put on a good show because they are singing they're own *****. ashlee simpson can lipsync all day, u have fun with that.
- insanecee, on 07/02/2008, -1/+3read the headlines i wouldnt consider chevelle a group based on looks... duh jus because you may have heard one song doesnt consitute you as an expert. the genre of chevelle is rock not pop.
- MCA2142, on 07/02/2008, -0/+3"Take Chevelle for example..."
Almost fell off my chair. That made my day.

- amauldin71, on 07/02/2008, -2/+0Ironic that a site calling itself hight3ch.com crashes that easily.
- mlbwebdesign, on 07/02/2008, -4/+0Thanks, Captain Obvious
- Tyrghast, on 07/02/2008, -0/+5Dear hight3ch.com,
We're sorry we borked yer site. In any case, welcome to the Internet, and you might need more bandwidth.

Digg - Scopitone, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1Stupid people keep buying into it?
- RomanThommassen, on 07/02/2008, -1/+1bill hicks on the "musicians" of today
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzZOOkvbVzA&feature ...
sais here on you're application, you have no talent... yet you wanna be a star. I think something can be arranged... pew, OOOOOH, AAAAH.
(*****) epic Bill Hicks video.
muse see. - SOS84, on 07/02/2008, -1/+2Brittany Spears (white trash), the Simpson skanks, Beyonce (ghetto trash), headline a group of talentless hacks whose only talent is shaking it and looking good doing it.
- DrCrankenstein, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1I think Britney's ability to shake it and "look good doing it" is debatable at best.
- SOS84, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1Sorry, I am still stuck in the year 2000.
- DrCrankenstein, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1I think Britney's ability to shake it and "look good doing it" is debatable at best.
- scottsolo, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1http://beforethemusicdies.com/
- Amadeus2490, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1The artists don't get paid *****, but the writers and producers make a few hundred thousand off of each song like this. If you can consistently write catchy music and sell it to other people, you'll be rich.
- Hefelumpman, on 07/02/2008, -1/+1http://youtube.com/watch?v=irk3_p15RJY
link to vid - sandiegodude, on 07/02/2008, -2/+2My ears were ready to bleed when she was singing from her being off-key so badly. My ears began to bleed when they played the video they made with her "corrected" audio and it still sounded like *****. In key sure, but still obviously manipulated to the point where it sounds awful.
Psh. See Maynard from TOOL or (gasp) Jared Leeto from 30 Seconds to Mars. Seen them both in concert, LIVE and they were both amazing singers, no digital "enhancement" necessary. - scuczu, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2And i just bought a new documentary....
http://www.beforethemusicdies.com/blog/own-it - JasonHaley, on 07/02/2008, -1/+1It's all just about how you watch it:
Pop Songs: Watch these videos with the volume on low. Because while my ears realize this is garbage...my eyes aren't lying that that's one hot girl.
Rock Songs: Turn up the volume and forget about the video. Because who cares what some drugged-up, over-sexed, musical genius looks like? - RomanThommassen, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1here anyother video of billh hicks on music...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCbVkX7jdAM&NR=1
Bill Hicks on malls, R.Astley, Jimi Hendrix, etc.
i like this one even more. - goddessophia, on 07/02/2008, -4/+1And if I wanted to go on a crazy religious rant I could use something from Revelations : 17:1 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and spoke with me, saying, “Come here. I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who sits on many waters, 17:2 with whom the kings of the earth committed sexual immorality, and those who dwell in the earth were made drunken with the wine of her sexual immorality.” 17:3 He carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness. I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet-colored animal, full of blasphemous names, having seven heads and ten horns. 17:4 The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of the sexual immorality of the earth. 17:5 And on her forehead a name was written, “MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF THE PROSTITUTES AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” 17:6 I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. " hmmmm... Does this make any sense to anyone else?
- TheEclipse, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1I saw this a ways back; it's still great.
And ***** Herbert Gans and other academics that try to legitimize bad pop culture. - OliversDigg, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1MTV News, you hear it first!
- samson7842, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2This is very misleading. Number one, a lot of the so-called "real artists" out there use ghost writers. And, I'm not talking about pop stars. I'm talking about rockers. Secondly, the song in this video is crappy. The production is sloppy and the arrangement is at best, mediocre.
Third point: the girl they are using has no delivery, no charisma or charm. She actually has zero talent. As much as people like to bash Brittany, she has a delivery all her own. No one else sound like her. Plus, she has tons of charisma. She has that "it" factor. That is a talent also. Either you're born with it or not. She has that "thing" that makes people, who like that style of music, take notice.
Trust me when I tell you, it isn't that simple. Even if the artist doesn't write his or her own music, and can't "technically" sing that well, he or she still has to have something special to make the music work for that person. You still have to deliver a "feel" on the track. There is no amount of coaching, software, or other fakery that can accomplish that. - depro9, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1long live the underground aka the interwebs. ;)
- CTRaider, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2THAT song would be a hit. : (
- cotaskmemalloc, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1Chevelle is run of the mill pop rock ***** in the same vein as most late 90's early 2000s rock *****. They are just as produced as the pop queens you hate.
- leakus, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2I prefer the guitar version with just the guy.
