- SeaweedWater, on 07/08/2008, -1/+12Bring plenty of gaffa (duct) tape if you plan on camping..wouldnt have gotten through Roskilde without it..
- cheezintern, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3don't forget enough ganja for you and your friends...
- qwertydvorak, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1all you need. http://www.marijuanaseedbanks.com/images/marijuana ...
- benbur, on 07/16/2008, -0/+0It's called gaffer tape or gaff tape... and no it is not just duct tape. Gaffer tape is a cotton cloth tape that is similar to duct tape in terms of strength usability... but definitely not the same as duct tape.

- webman77, on 07/08/2008, -2/+11Yeah! It is finally festival time :D.
I enjoyed to read this article. Thanks!- willster580, on 07/09/2008, -1/+2It has been festival time for a while now.
- jonmlm, on 07/09/2008, -1/+1it's pretty much over
- jodofashodo, on 07/08/2008, -2/+5Ahh, yes, I still fondly remember trying to see a band every time slot at Lollapalooza 2005 and running out of steam pretty quick...at any rate, Weez!
- digits12, on 07/08/2008, -3/+3finally festival time thanx .
- novoare, on 07/08/2008, -5/+0Great tips for festival going-- and plenty you probably never thought of.
- HuskyPuzzle, on 07/08/2008, -4/+11M.I.A might be the hottest woman on the planet.
- Huskeypuzzle, on 07/08/2008, -2/+0There are some good summer fests coming through San Francisco this year, Outside Lands in Golden Gate park should be a blast...and Treasure Island music fest too.
- RegularJohn, on 07/08/2008, -2/+22 beer six-packs and a lot of partying always makes a good concert.
- narcofiche, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1Yeah, but a lot of beer isn't a good thing to have at these outdoor festivals. It's super hot outside and water costs a fortune.
- CoffeeJoost, on 07/08/2008, -3/+1It is summer and festival time. Good read, be prepared and you will enjoy your event a whole lot better.
- lhodsdon, on 07/08/2008, -1/+2pack the liquor and grab some friends. and prepare to sweat!
- starskii, on 07/08/2008, -0/+6If it's anywhere in the UK, take a pair of wellies boots for the mud :)
- domfosnz, on 07/09/2008, -0/+4especially if you think it might rain .. which it will
- InSeverance, on 07/09/2008, -0/+2If you think it might rain?
It doesn't matter what the BBC says, you bring wellies.
Or really really ***** shoes...Primarkage...- borez, on 07/09/2008, -0/+2Took the words right out of my mouth. I forgot mine at the weekend ( Beatherder festival ) and spent the day with bin bags gaffa taped to my feet.
Not a good look really.

- aquadoguk, on 07/09/2008, -1/+4EARPLUGS for sleeping
(i promise you will thank me....) - byahman, on 07/09/2008, -0/+4That article told me nothing I didn't already know about the festival experience and quite frankly the best advice you can give is bring lots of water.
- narcofiche, on 07/09/2008, -0/+2Not these days, with a lot of festivals making you leave your water behind to charge you $5 for a small bottle.
- jonmlm, on 07/09/2008, -0/+2$5? not at most and better ones have refill stations now
- narcofiche, on 07/09/2008, -0/+2Not these days, with a lot of festivals making you leave your water behind to charge you $5 for a small bottle.
- InSeverance, on 07/09/2008, -0/+7READING FESTIVAL!
However, a fairly awful guide that states every obvious decision sub-consciously made by EVERY festival goer, regular or not.
Key items for 2008 festivaling:
1. Excessive amounts of glow-paint!
2. Some insane colourful sun-glasses!
3. Ghettoblaster! (to provide a Mobile-Rave)
4. Wellies!- borez, on 07/09/2008, -0/+21. Excessive amounts of glow-paint!
2. Some insane colourful sun-glasses!
Oh, that was you was it?
- borez, on 07/09/2008, -0/+21. Excessive amounts of glow-paint!
- bld1777, on 07/09/2008, -2/+0 i didnt think coachella had camping
- jonmlm, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1i hope you're joking
- bld1777, on 07/09/2008, -0/+0some article i read about it mentioned that once you leave the festival area you cant re-enter for that day and that everyone went back to their hotels
- jonmlm, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1well you can't re-enter, but there is onsite camping and plenty of other camping in the area.
- jonmlm, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1i hope you're joking
- outsidethebox, on 07/09/2008, -3/+1***** yeah Pemberton! NIN, Coldplay, Jay-Z, Death Cab, and Tom Petty within 3 days time:)
- bipolarruledout, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1Can't say you don't like to mix is up.
- d3dm, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1Yoga? Journaling? Reading a book??? Please. What's happened to the world?
There was nothing in that article about getting baked by the sun, remembering to drink plenty of water, or to eat something once a day. Heck, at least he could have reminded you to bring some condoms. But by all means, do your yoga. LOL.- whyisntcakesin, on 07/09/2008, -0/+0someone needs to sit down and watch Woodstock
http://youtube.com/watch?v=XfS-Pgh02wY- bipolarruledout, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1It should be noted that the drugs were cheap and plentiful. Hippies seem to forget that.
- whyisntcakesin, on 07/09/2008, -0/+0someone needs to sit down and watch Woodstock
- SOMETIMESmovie, on 07/09/2008, -1/+1Nice article. Thanks!
- ybrugman, on 07/09/2008, -1/+2They definitely forgot to mention the quarter ounce of weed you need to deal with thee hippie fests...
- bipolarruledout, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1You don't intend on sharing?
- borez, on 07/09/2008, -0/+4In the UK, take your wellies, gaffa tape, a maglight and a waterproof jacket which is totally waterproof ( eg. a Northface jacket ).
Otherwise you can end up having a miserable time. - Owwmykneecap, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1I'm sitting in my camping chair in my room right now beer in and. playing Halo (that bit i won't be doing at oxegen)
Oxegen 10-14th my Birthday is the 11th. I don't plan on remembering it
I can not wait to see RAGE... - roffelmeh, on 07/09/2008, -1/+1all you really needs is alot of drugs
- soupr, on 07/09/2008, -1/+1are you dealing? on digg??
- bipolarruledout, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1Perhaps. But all the drugs in the world won't help if you don't have good music. I could just stay home a avoid A LOT of hassle. It just kind of pisses me off that some people get so ***** up that you KNOW they don't give a ***** about any of the bands.
- narcofiche, on 07/09/2008, -0/+4I could have written this article in 4 words: money, comfortable clothes, weed.
The most important step being: bring a ***** of money. You won't be able to bring anything inside so you'll have to pay a ridiculous amount for food and water. Not to mention all the merchandise you might want to buy, especially from local artists who generally have booths.- bipolarruledout, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1Cliff Bars
- imightbewrong, on 07/09/2008, -1/+2MIA!!
- bouche, on 07/09/2008, -6/+1don't forget to bring LOTS and LOTS of condoms for all the chick banging.
- roflmaololstorm, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3For anyone who was at Bonnaroo this year...they left out the part where you skip Kanye for a good show that started on time.
- soupr, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3I love Glastonbury. Afterwards you feel like you've been lost at sea for 10 years. But you're smiling.
- dannyknight, on 07/09/2008, -0/+4Umm... Bonnaroo & Rothbury already happened. Camp Bisco is in like a week... this article should have been made ages ago.
- jonmlm, on 07/09/2008, -0/+5coachella, bonnaroo, glastonbury.. uh. just in time digg
- getouttamyfog, on 07/09/2008, -0/+7L S D PLEASE
- tbrand86, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1rothbury kicked ass.
I think the person who wrote this is an amateur.
That is all. - mastern, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1Buried for being useless - having been at Sasquatch there is a lot more required at summer festivals. Earplugs (as someone mentioned above) are a must. Sunscreen - obviously - but also chapstick with sunscreen and a hat or bandana to protect your head. A lot of clean water if you can, because water tends to run out, at least at Sasquatch it does, and a solar shower if you plan on taking a shower. Definitely want a rain poncho as well. Binoculars may be cool if you're planning on sitting down - you can get a cheap pair for 10-15 bucks. Also, with higher security measures at festivals, I don't know what type of festival would let a cart in.
- ooooo, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1Im so disappointed that i cant go to Wacken this year.
- darylspong, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3"BONNAROO!!!"
- blurrie, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3drink plenty of water. don't worry about being drinking alch.. unless you wanna get smashed at night. find shade. rate bands and know that there are trade offs.. seeing every band you want is.. quite the accomplishment. find the oasis. (at coachella.. it is the heineken air conditioned tent)..
enjoy being alive and the experience with like minded people. - bipolarruledout, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3Don't take the brown acid.
- splinter09, on 07/09/2008, -0/+2Outdoor music festival are my life, i like the electronic music, I'm going to BOOM festival in Portugal now in August
Anyone coming? - deva14, on 07/09/2008, -0/+2Ahhh, summer festival season. I've still never made it to any of the big ones! Reading this reminded me to make it a priority... Still can't believe that the one summer I spent in the UK, Glastonbury took a year off. :(
- deetank, on 07/09/2008, -0/+2Really glad I didn't read this before going to 'Roo.
