- melville248, on 11/18/2008, -0/+2I was surprised by the some of the prices. The tour support and artwork seemed low, while the marketing and publicity seemed high, very interesting.
- megapeg, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1I wouldn't say that those numbers are necessarily typical - in this day and age, the marketing costs are often lowered, especially for indie releases, and most labels provide zip for tour support. It'd be helpful to see median/mean expenditures on each of these categories for a variety of releases and labels.
- ClaMag, on 11/18/2008, -0/+0Many indie artists I know use a different way to market their art. It seems that David Rose is applying to Indie the same rules of the main Music industry. A big mistake on my point of view.
- oconnedk, on 11/19/2008, -0/+0Yep, the costs do seem high, but it's still a great article still, and this guy seems to know what he's talking about!
