- griffindj, on 05/08/2008, -6/+7The show John did was 'John Mayer has a tv show" and it was on VH1. I can't look up the youtube video because I'm at work but just search for it.
He's also pretty funny at his live shows and for those that don't know he's trying his hand at stand up comedy.
/gaycrush- danwallace, on 05/08/2008, -3/+11Buried for knowing too much about John Mayer.
- DaHuuuuuudge, on 05/08/2008, -1/+5It's okay, his gaycrush qualifies him.

- mrblonde314, on 05/09/2008, -0/+8John Mayer is kinda like a Jonny Depp in the sense that he didn't want to be labeled as a 'Teen Idol' and wants to be taken seriously with his music. He kinda fell off for a while to do music HE actually wants to do, which is very respectable in today's culture. If you've ever listened to his blues and jazz sessions you will realize that this kid is a ***** talent. Download some John Mayer Trio, cause trust me when I say, I USED TO dislike him too.
- Forsakenmantra, on 05/09/2008, -0/+6Does anyone remember when he was oh the Chappelle show skit?
- jasonk74, on 05/09/2008, -0/+0I didn't like him either until I saw him on the Chappelle show. Now I'm a fan of all of his music.
- chawkie, on 05/08/2008, -53/+4I hate John Mayer...
- ostracize, on 05/08/2008, -6/+58I'm comfortable enough with my masculinity to say John Mayer is awesome.
- sarixe, on 05/08/2008, -0/+5funny how people who aren't comfortable with their masculinity have picked up on the common usage of this comment. not insinuating anything here, just sayin'
- ayeroxor, on 05/09/2008, -1/+4I don't understand why one would have to preface a statement about liking a musician with whether or not they think they are truly representative of their gender.
Unless you're gay.

- OrbitalFX, on 05/08/2008, -14/+2The video wasn't funny. Apatow can do better.

- spect3r, on 05/08/2008, -3/+178John Mayer is awesome. Too bad all the soccer moms listen to him and I look like a total douche when I listen to him.
But really, I like Hendrix & Stevie Ray Vaughan - and I can't help but admire Mayers talent in emulating/shadowing these greats...- rogueyak, on 05/08/2008, -0/+13Watch the Austin city limits of Mayer. He plays with double trouble and Buddy Guy. Pretty amazing.
- crawf061, on 05/08/2008, -0/+6I love his live shows. It is really something to see him wailing on his guitar.
- Franey97, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2Ive seen him twice live now. Hes simply amazing. My friend always leaves with a bewildered look saying "Why do I bother playing? Ill never be that good."
- duster, on 05/08/2008, -2/+25rational discussion on John Mayer on the internet? what's the world coming to?
/huge fan - Szandor, on 05/08/2008, -1/+23Soccer moms are a plague upon our society.
- doublebummer, on 05/08/2008, -11/+2John Mayer is awesome? Really? Have you heard that "Waiting For The World To Change" song? White, apathetic softrock.
- cleverdiggname, on 05/08/2008, -2/+3In his defense that was my least favorite song on the album, but I doubt if you already don't like him that an argument over the internet is going to change anything. I wouldn't use apathetic either, because the song is talking about whats wrong in the world and how we need to change it; this is obviously not apathetic because apathetic means you don't care or are indifferent to something, so he wouldn't care enough to write a song about the world changing is he was truly apathetic. Now you may find it lacking, half-ass, monotonous, or lacking depth and it would be a solid opinion that I would disagree with, but it would be a lot harder/impossible to prove you wrong.
- freeth1nker, on 05/08/2008, -9/+2For the love of Zeus...comparing him to Hendrix?! He's not THAT great a guitar player or songwriter.
- bosko1983, on 05/08/2008, -1/+10Let me be the 1,000,000 th person to say... just go see him live. THEN tell us what you think.
- freeth1nker, on 05/08/2008, -5/+2So basically he's a decent guitarist live but in the studio he's sandbagging? That makes a lot of sense.
- KMartSheriff, on 05/08/2008, -2/+6***** you, non-believer.
- LETHARGICpirate, on 05/08/2008, -1/+4If you watch his performance of Gravity at Crossroads 2007 you will see that he is way better than decent. Most of the people who listen to his songs on the radio don't want to here a fast, powerful and technical solo when they are listening to relaxing music. In his live performances he can have more dramatic build ups, longer songs and more advanced solos.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=xr2ehE2Pf-I
Here is the video. The solo begins around the 4 minute mark but it gets really technical at around 4:50.
- freeth1nker, on 05/08/2008, -5/+2So basically he's a decent guitarist live but in the studio he's sandbagging? That makes a lot of sense.

whats wrong with soccer moms? - 0zzy, on 05/09/2008, -1/+2Stevie Vaughan endorsed Ron Paul and played at some of his rallies.
[/required ron paul reference]- dougbarrett, on 05/09/2008, -0/+4Really? That's interesting since Stevie Ray Vaughan has been dead for almost 20 years.
- bosko1983, on 05/21/2008, -1/+1I'm pretty sure he's kidding
- STARTSOMETHING, on 05/09/2008, -3/+1I like disturbed, godsmack, and slipknot. But I also like a little mayer.
- DharmaTurtle, on 05/10/2008, -0/+3Meh. I listen to an artist based on his music, not on who else listens to him. If soccermoms like what I like, sweet. We're all humans on this world; sharing likes ain't a bad thing.

There's a whistle for about half a second in Paradise City. Hahah.
- travbrack, on 05/08/2008, -0/+5"Smithers, have the Rolling Stones killed"
- toasterweasel, on 05/08/2008, -2/+150John Mayer is actually a pretty cool guy. Some say he's a douche but I would say not so fast *****. He lacks a number of douche qualities, such as the inability to laugh at oneself. He's just doing what any guy would be doing in his situation, banging every hot chick he can get his hands on. Who can blame him?
- ngmcs8203, on 05/08/2008, -4/+31The dude dropped out of Berklee because he thought he was too good for it. If that's cool you can call me Miles Davis.
- subscriber, on 05/08/2008, -31/+11You misspelled Berkley, Miles.
- mciampa1214, on 05/08/2008, -0/+29um, no he didn't it's Berklee College of Music

- SuminderJi, on 05/08/2008, -3/+22Meh, hes seems to be doing alright for himself - are you going to call Bill Gates a douche too?
- williamlee, on 05/08/2008, -6/+2Bill's not a douche but kind of a tool.
- nosecohn, on 05/08/2008, -1/+32Contrary to what parents would have you believe, being a college dropout doesn't doom you to a life living under bridges and begging for food. There are some motivated people for whom the university pace is just too slow and the focus not refined enough. Below is a list of the education levels of the top 10 richest people in the world, as ranked by Forbes in 2007:
1. College dropout
2. Masters in Economics
3. Undergraduate degree in Engineering
4. No higher education
5. Undergraduate degree in Commerce
6. City college dropout
7. Bachelor's degree in Engineering
8. High school dropout
9. High school dropout
10. Master's degree in History
Only one MBA in the bunch, and one with an undergraduate business degree. Fully HALF have no university level degree at all. Best of all, three of them didn't even finish high school!
I'm not suggesting that kids and young adults shouldn't stay in school, but it's not that unusual to meet really successful people, such as John Mayer, who just thought that college wasn't for them. - dacrazydude, on 05/08/2008, -7/+2Maybe he just dropped out because he thought Berkeley was a ***** hole. Which it is.
- ZannaDiosa, on 05/08/2008, -0/+7BERKLEE! In Boston! Not Berkeley, in CA!
It's ok, we're used to it. :(
- ZannaDiosa, on 05/08/2008, -0/+7BERKLEE! In Boston! Not Berkeley, in CA!
- sarixe, on 05/08/2008, -0/+2Hi there, Miles.
- DrMonkeyLove, on 05/09/2008, -1/+1I remember hearing him say he dropped out because he wasn't interested in the technicalities of music and just wanted to play stuff people liked to listen to. Fair enough. Also, I vote not douche. He reminds me a lot of myself, only not as good at the guitar...
- subscriber, on 05/08/2008, -31/+11You misspelled Berkley, Miles.

Happy Holidays!
- Shuk, on 05/08/2008, -8/+44John Mayer is an awesome BLUES musician. He could be the next Hendrix/SRV if he really tried but unfortunately he sticks with all the "sensitive" pop music. This guy just needs to let it rip and play what he really knows! He's also got a great sense of humor. I love his routine with Dave Chappelle as well.
- MattB123, on 05/08/2008, -2/+18Yeah for all the haters out there I say "not so fast ***** - listen to the John Mayer Trio live album".
The sappy pop is just so he can be a gazzionaire and then play the music he likes. - chicofaraby, on 05/08/2008, -1/+21Mayer responds to the hype about himself here....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YfYBudVXXw- themonkman, on 05/08/2008, -0/+12"Who Did You Think I Was" is a kickass blues/rock song. Mayer needs more music like this.
- aelias, on 05/08/2008, -9/+3He will, in all likelihood, never wail like SRV. He's simply not that good, and he's to old to ever GET that good. He's got chops, and some sweet licks, but almost no improv abilities. I don't hold it against him, just sayin'
/the next Hendrix? Are you high? Name one boundary that Mayer has pushed. Ok then.- Rikushix, on 05/08/2008, -0/+8Hendrix was high.
- kcirtap6075, on 05/08/2008, -0/+6he really is that good though.. i saw him last summer and his improv is really really good.. he does a blues set in the middle of his shows and i suggest going to see him, but download his john mayer trio cd try, if you don't like the poppy side of mayer's music then you will like try
- Rikushix, on 05/08/2008, -1/+5Random trivia: Mayer considers Stevie Ray Vaughn as his idol...so much so that he has "SRV" tattooed on his shoulder.
- 33PercentGod, on 05/08/2008, -0/+2What the ***** does John Mayer have to be blue about?
- Liability, on 05/09/2008, -0/+9Getting old, dying, being crazy, being shallow.. all the stuff you can't buy your way out of.

- bosko1983, on 05/08/2008, -2/+5no.. you're a dumb teenaged boy, AND you're not funny. at all.
- kratsnitram, on 05/08/2008, -2/+17I wish I liked his music as much as I like his humor.
- TROY7, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2I didn't realize he was so funny...

- doctordrew89, on 05/08/2008, -0/+9Not a damn thing, now if only he'd occasionally remember he's a musician and record some. Funny stuff though; the one episode he had on VH1 sometime ago was damn funny too.
- Szandor, on 05/08/2008, -0/+6I like the part when he's in the bear costume outside the venue and he keeps saying John 'Meyers" and the soretitty girls are: like, OMG, it's Mayer.

- dredpir8roberts, on 05/08/2008, -0/+51Everyone commenting on how they don't like John Mayer's music, give his blues stuff a shot. Check out his John Mayer Trio- Try! album. Or check him out playing Crossroads with Eric Clapton http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zh4n1bZi4d8
- MattB123, on 05/08/2008, -0/+6Yeah, the Trio rawks!
- Wugie, on 05/08/2008, -4/+3I like John Mayer but Claptons solo whooped his.
- Adamlite, on 05/08/2008, -0/+10I was at that concert and during the final night, when at least 5 of the most important guitarists of all time were on stage, Mayer came out and didn't really play for about 10 minutes. Then, at the urging of Buddy Guy and Eric Clapton, he stepped out to the front, played the ***** out of his guitar and nearly blew everyone out of the water. Clapton has been grooming him as a successor of sorts for some time now. Now if he could write good music all the time instead of writing music that gets him lots of celebrity (and otherwise) pussy...
- Wugie, on 05/08/2008, -0/+2I know he's good, but that specific song that was linked Claptons solo was way better. That's all I'm sayin'.

Now if he could write good music all the time instead of writing music that gets him lots of celebrity (and otherwise) pussy...
- christianbusch, on 05/08/2008, -1/+29Also great:
John Mayer records a song with Kanye West: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_z-shZL1KU- mciampa1214, on 05/08/2008, -0/+16"Go back and listen to daughters, bitches!"
- Szandor, on 05/08/2008, -6/+2Please don't taint JM, Kanye.
- cleverdiggname, on 05/08/2008, -1/+1Thats actually a good song called "Bittersweet Symphony" which, correct me if I'm wrong, was a bonus track on Kanye's album "Graduation" released solely in the UK. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDUbYDZoku4&feature ...
- frieddonuts, on 05/08/2008, -0/+5Goddamn, that was funny.
- mhuggins, on 05/08/2008, -0/+2Holy crap, I'm so glad you linked that. Seriously, hilarious!
- Dandelyons22, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1The folks are gonna love that!
Quite possibly the best video I've seen in a long time.
(Laughed harder than I did at the dugg video.)
- Modestexcuse, on 05/08/2008, -1/+3I honestly didn't know he had a sense of humor. That was hilarious! Dugg for coke scene.
- mizuhri, on 05/08/2008, -0/+7Great video and is it sad that I know who the girl is wearing the "My body is a wonderland" t-shirt? It's Ashley Parker Angels wife.
- tomjm5000, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1yes// that's a shame
- captainhorseboy, on 05/08/2008, -1/+14John Mayer is a champion of men. He is hilarious and has a self-awareness missing in many celebrities.
- The2ndAct, on 05/08/2008, -1/+9Say what you want about his music, John Mayer's a funny guy.
- secondfiddle, on 05/08/2008, -20/+1Mayer...Don't quit your day job, better yet maybe you should. Its called music John, not stealing every riff known to guitar kind, Crikey!
- soupnrc, on 05/08/2008, -1/+5You lose
- Szandor, on 05/08/2008, -0/+3Show us your axe skillz or stfu. I've been in music for a long time and nothing says poser or newb more than thinking that playing an instrument is a pissing contest.
- soupnrc, on 05/08/2008, -0/+3Sadly enough, it really is for some people. I've known people that are PHENOMENAL guitarists/musicians in general. However, they were stuck up and thought they were cooler than me cause they were better at guitar than I am. Those people tick me off.
- theawesomeness, on 05/08/2008, -6/+1I like the Spill Canvas more than John Mayer, but John Mayer apparently makes funny videos now. Props.
- coyoteblue, on 05/08/2008, -0/+2buried for saying you like the spill canvas.
- Princeamor, on 05/08/2008, -6/+1Wow he reminds me so much of myself...
- CommissarVlad, on 05/08/2008, -0/+9Except he isn't a self inflated douche.
- lordbuddylove, on 05/08/2008, -4/+1Is it just me, or is the audio coming out all "scrambled" for anyone else?
- Rikushix, on 05/08/2008, -0/+7It's just you.
- bigbill780, on 05/08/2008, -1/+2John Mayer brings the ruckus to the ladies.
- howdareyou, on 05/08/2008, -0/+8Dugg for J.B. Smoove (Leon from CYE) he really needs to be in a lot more stuff.
- einrobstein, on 05/08/2008, -0/+3By "a lot more stuff" I hope you meant "everything".
- mortey, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1Leon: Next time a man calls you a ***** *****, you get in that ass, Larry! Know what I mean? You get in that ass, Larry! That's what the ***** you do!
- cjmal, on 05/08/2008, -2/+19"Sir can you watch your language? There's a ***** baby in the room!"
- PapaZit, on 05/08/2008, -7/+3OMG LOL TELLING SOMEONE NOT TO CURSE BUT THEN YOU DO IT HAHAA
- tomtom13, on 05/08/2008, -26/+2John Mayer is a *****.
- chris4404, on 05/08/2008, -0/+2What are you lost?
- Szandor, on 05/08/2008, -0/+11So how did his dick taste?
- 883XL, on 05/08/2008, -1/+2Takes one to know one
- ngmcs8203, on 05/08/2008, -4/+34To be honest, John Mayer should be the hero to most diggers. He's a music nerd who bangs hot chicks. He has a lot of money and drives fast cars. And the kicker?... he's a Ron Paul supporter that likes to debate it with The Mac Guy (Mac/PC commercials)!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrPCkMSTH9A
//I'm an Obama fan, but just thought this was funny.- cjmal, on 05/08/2008, -0/+17That Ron Paul argument wasn't serious. It was a scene that him and Justin Long put on for TMZ for ***** and giggles.
- ngmcs8203, on 05/08/2008, -0/+7Yes, hence the over-dramatic praise. It just was an intro into a funny video.
- zepfan221, on 05/08/2008, -8/+2I ***** Hate Justin Long. Seriously Roll over and die already. Your not funny, and no one likes your smug attitude.
- KMartSheriff, on 05/08/2008, -0/+3Someone needs a hug.
- MrTito, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1So... you're a PC?
- TygerTyger, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1"John Paul, help the homeless!"
- cjmal, on 05/08/2008, -0/+17That Ron Paul argument wasn't serious. It was a scene that him and Justin Long put on for TMZ for ***** and giggles.
- mpopek, on 05/08/2008, -0/+6Was that Leon as one of the song writers? Get in that ass, Larry!
- flapanthers87, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1JB Smoove is great. Leon is ***** hilarious!
- Lynxplus, on 05/08/2008, -2/+7"Some people say all the chords in music have been found, I say not so fast *****." LOL
- blahtastic, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1Thanks for your insightful input.
(Was a good line though, might have to add "Not so fast *****" to my list of go-to insults)
- blahtastic, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1Thanks for your insightful input.
- cmuwriter, on 05/08/2008, -1/+15When I grow up, I want to be John Mayer.
- R1ng00, on 05/08/2008, -5/+1No you don't he's a complete *****....
- Mutton, on 05/08/2008, -1/+13That Kirk Cameron sure is funny.
- Surferess, on 05/08/2008, -2/+1Loved how he was talking on the cell phone with his hands in the Prius, when the Prius is totally tricked out with Bluetooth from the steering wheel.
- Rhymenoceros, on 05/08/2008, -0/+14He had a show on vh1 and he dressed up as a bear. He then made fun of people waiting in line for one of his shows. It was awesome
- AmericanGunner, on 05/08/2008, -1/+11http://digg.com/comedy/John_Mayer_wears_a_bear_sui ...
- TommyBoy919, on 05/08/2008, -3/+12I'm an unabashed John Mayer fan, which since he's also loved by teenage girls and soccer moms, gets me a good amount of *****. But I'm a musician and respect him as such, so whatever. The man can shred like few others, gets loads of hot tail, and has a great sense of humor. There are worse people to admire.
- getbusyliving, on 05/08/2008, -11/+3There are BETTER people to admire too. Loser.
- linuxpenguin, on 05/08/2008, -3/+4I can't say I've ever heard John Mayer shred. And the sense of humor and getting loads of hot tail. . . well, having a sense of humor is a personality trait anyone can have, and there's plenty of famous singers and band members who get tons of hot chicks.
- LZeppelinJ0, on 05/08/2008, -0/+4Think what he's getting at is John Mayer is, or at least appears to be, pretty grounded and doesn't take himself too seriously rather than looking to be a tabloid train-wreck all the time. Sort of says "hey look! Insanity and fame don't HAVE to go hand-in-hand!"
- linuxpenguin, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Good point. I don't like his music still, though I did get a good laugh out of that bit he did on Chappelle's Show.
- LZeppelinJ0, on 05/09/2008, -0/+0I'm not a fan of the music either ;)
- linuxpenguin, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Good point. I don't like his music still, though I did get a good laugh out of that bit he did on Chappelle's Show.
- TommyBoy919, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1If you listen to the John Mayer Trio live CD, you'll hear it, or just search YouTube for "John Mayer Solo". He's a gifted guitar player that just happens to like writing pop songs.
- bryanricker, on 05/08/2008, -4/+3I'm pretty sure that this video ISN'T an exaggeration of what John Mayer is actually like.
- elambing, on 05/09/2008, -0/+3and im sure that comment ISNT an exaggeration of how much of a dick you are.
- Regulator980, on 05/08/2008, -0/+12If you didn't see this on Digg before, here's 2guys1cup with John Mayer.
