The 10 Worst Songs That Hit #1
spike.com — You would think if a song went to #1 on the charts it would have some kind of redeeming quality. Even if it wasn ’t your favorite genre of music, I’m sure you could find one reason why everybody was raving about it so much. So how do songs that have with no originality or creativity what so ever hit it big with the masses? My only guess is stupidity

- bonyicecream, on 09/23/2008, -12/+9It's not a rickroll if you knew you were going to play it. So no.
via wikipedia: "The meme is a bait and switch: a person provides a Web link they claim is relevant to the topic at hand, but the link actually takes the user to the Astley video."- Garofoli, on 09/24/2008, -2/+20lol research.
- Reaktor5, on 09/24/2008, -22/+2lol, wikipedia considered a source.
- xxpor, on 09/24/2008, -0/+25I am 99% sure that Digg does not have a charter to act as a University, therefore Wikipedia is considered an acceptable source in the comments. In addition, most members of Digg would agree that for cases like this, it is probably one of the most accurate and in depth sources available. Hence, you suck.
- Zipko, on 09/24/2008, -1/+12Yes, by Spike TV of all places.
What would have been really funny is if all 10 videos played that song.- SilentRamble42, on 09/24/2008, -2/+3Or if it were sixth months ago when Rick Rolling still happened.
- Ramble, on 09/24/2008, -1/+1Didn't you see Youtube release figures for rickrolling?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBGIQ7ZuuiU
- OwdenBowden, on 09/24/2008, -0/+1You might want to all about 5 more zeros to the 10 because I can thing of a bunch that are crap.
- barfnugget, on 09/25/2008, -0/+3too many typos for me to handle
- OwdenBowden, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2"These ladies were no different than a bag of Doritos." Crunch we'll make more...'

- bonyicecream, on 09/23/2008, -12/+9It's not a rickroll if you knew you were going to play it. So no.
- redscofield, on 09/23/2008, -9/+149I disagree with number one... the Baha Men have to be number one on this list... sweet christ!? Who Let The Dogs Out is the bane of music's existence... and while James Blunt's track might be chessy to some, it's hardly one of the 10 worst songs ever to hit #1...
- The2ndAct, on 09/24/2008, -0/+22Music is the most subjective thing there is. This is more of a top 10 songs dsussman hates. ...but if it were possible to have an objective list... yeah, Baha Men would probably be on it.
- vallver, on 09/24/2008, -1/+1The most subjective thing is the most subjective think there is.
- Strunt, on 09/24/2008, -5/+18It is.
I want to hit things when I hear his falsetto little boys voice.
Over here in London 'James Blunt' has become rhyming slang for '*****'.- Soniti, on 09/24/2008, -2/+4I ***** hate that song so much. My girlfriends fat roommate in college had that as her ringtone and I figured it out. It's a song that utterly repulsive chicks listen to to make themselves feel better; to convince themselves that they're "beautiful".
***** no you're not, and turn off that Goddamn song. - Neekolazz, on 09/24/2008, -0/+4I don't know why you're being dug down soniti, I know two girls to back up that theory.
Dugg for truth. - redscofield, on 09/26/2008, -0/+1i did not know that...
still not as bad as Baha Men though... right?
- Soniti, on 09/24/2008, -2/+4I ***** hate that song so much. My girlfriends fat roommate in college had that as her ringtone and I figured it out. It's a song that utterly repulsive chicks listen to to make themselves feel better; to convince themselves that they're "beautiful".
- bbtweb, on 09/24/2008, -4/+13I agree with the baha men at number 1. James Blunt might not have the best song, but the message of the song is what saves it. The message is fantastic.
- zadadka, on 09/24/2008, -1/+1"...might be chessy ..."
That'll be cheesy, then?- mrgreenjeans9, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2checkmate!
- nickbertovich, on 09/24/2008, -4/+9Nah, James Blunt deserved the top. I ***** hate that song.
- hmunkey, on 09/24/2008, -0/+5I liked it until I heard it over 1000 times in a week.
- IHaveIssues, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2Baha Men did a pretty good remake of Dancing in the Moonlight.
- devilsadv81, on 09/24/2008, -1/+10I agree, Baha Men is the absolutely worst song I have ever heard. The worst part about it is that it will probably never die. It has endless rehash appeal.
One that missed the list (and I don't know if it ever made #1) is Barbie Girl. At the university I went to, they would have fundraisers where they played that song over and over until they raised the money they needed. It works... - MemphisExNoel, on 09/24/2008, -9/+1For god's shake what music does this guy listens too? OPERA?
Well whatever although I should agree at least half of them shouldnt ever number one in sales, its obvious that this guy lacks open-mindness.
Oh and yes Macarenna SUCKS lol- MagicHobo, on 09/24/2008, -0/+6It took you a whole two sentences to contradict yourself.
- MemphisExNoel, on 09/24/2008, -1/+0I just said that they shouldn't be number one not that they were the worst things ever heard like HE DID IN THIS ARTICLE.
And yes I hated some songs too but I was never offending anyone who liked them
phrases like "This goes to prove that Midwestern housewives should not be allowed to buy music" or even worse "The sheer fact that people spent their hard-earned dollars on this record is unbelievable. I’m really convinced that these douchebags had Corky from Life Goes On ghostwrite this for them. Die!" Just seems so offensive that makes me sick of it even if I have the same opinion about some of these songs... (did I say Macarenna sucks?)
- morgino, on 09/24/2008, -0/+6I was in Hawaii with gfriend of mine and that Blunt song came on over the radio. Just as I was about to tell her how much I hated it I saw her crying. Her mother was dying at the time and it reminded her of there relationship. Now that song means something different to me, that's how it works
- serif69, on 09/24/2008, -0/+8I disagree. It's a disservice to songwriters everywhere that not only is "Whoomp (There It Is)" not #1, it's not even on the list.
- Ajajadude, on 09/25/2008, -0/+1Try working in a retail store that played it all the time and tell me it's not the #1 worst #1 song.
I'm going to have nightmares about this tonight.
- The2ndAct, on 09/24/2008, -0/+22Music is the most subjective thing there is. This is more of a top 10 songs dsussman hates. ...but if it were possible to have an objective list... yeah, Baha Men would probably be on it.

- Reaktor5, on 09/24/2008, -1/+64Did myslef enjoy it?
- Ki77erB, on 09/24/2008, -2/+7Thats called Rickurbating or Ricking Off (slang)
- synthoid, on 09/25/2008, -0/+2My mom walked in on me rickrolling once. It was SO embarrassing!
- BorsKaegel, on 09/23/2008, -14/+23Hey, you can't totally fault the Spice Girls... they proved once and for all that at least a handful of the British populace do indeed practice proper dental care.
- timusca, on 09/24/2008, -1/+2It's like how Yael Naim shaves her armpits. Amazing isn't it?
- ScarabLordCoral, on 09/24/2008, -0/+11Who?
- timusca, on 09/24/2008, -0/+1The chick that did the MacBook Air commercial song... she's French.
- Kylde, on 09/24/2008, -8/+5lol, just 'cause we don't bleach our teeth to unnatural extremes doesn't mean our teeth aren't healthy, "US teeth are sometimes whiter than it is physically possible to get in nature - there is a new reality out there. The most extreme tooth bleaching is terrifying, it looks like it's painted with gloss paint and has altered what people perceive as normal" http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7633254.stm
- Strunt, on 09/24/2008, -3/+3Word. Luminous white teethed freaks :-). Anyway - actually go to America and there teeth are more ***** than the english, they just don't end up on the TV. See 'em before they get their braces - terrifying!
- Spelvin, on 09/24/2008, -1/+3Hammond? We all know you did it stop trying to hide it.
- illegal_op, on 09/24/2008, -0/+1dude, do an image search for "British teeth"
http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&safe=off&q=b ...
See the whole world knows your teeth suck.- Strunt, on 09/25/2008, -0/+1Fact is because we have national health care, more Americans have rotten, uncleaned, bad teeth than the English because of lack of insurance. The problem with yanks is they seem to think their fictional tv and films are somehow representative of the whole population.
When I visited Poughkeepsie, man did I see some snaggletoothed 'summer' teeth (some-a yellow, some are brown ;).
A dentist once told me that black people have the strongest teeth closely followed by the Irish. I'm half Irish and have perfect teetth with no fillings at 37.
The average white smiled American will have a veritable metal shop back there. Narcissism beats health everytime.

- kamikaze87, on 09/24/2008, -0/+1Yeah, totally. I mean who doesn't like the Macarena?! This list is the fail!
/sarcasm

- AirRaven, on 09/24/2008, -0/+29Seconded.
"Never Gonna Give You Up" has no place on that list- at least it's catchy in a non-annoying way. - karbrino, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2***** that song!
- Kohaxx, on 09/24/2008, -0/+1The parody "I kissed a dude" is ten million times better anyway.
- ansatsu29, on 09/24/2008, -0/+1Third the motion here for I kissed the girl song that really sucked hard more than anything in the list.
- dreamlandburns, on 09/24/2008, -0/+0Jesus yeah I would listen to the Macarena every day if it meant I could wipe that song off the face of the earth.
- BabyWookie, on 09/24/2008, -1/+1@Kohaxx:
I like that "I killed a girl" parody too:
I killed a girl and I liked it!
I wore her face as a mask on my head! - iruel, on 09/25/2008, -0/+1"I liked it"
- redscofield, on 09/26/2008, -0/+1u didn't like it?
(see that has two meanings)
- AirRaven, on 09/24/2008, -0/+29Seconded.
- RealmDown, on 09/24/2008, -2/+107Where's MmmmBop by Hanson ?
- verbaldouching, on 09/24/2008, -5/+2This is a "Worst Song" list, not gayest song. I do agree with you though, that should be on both lists.
- redscofield, on 09/26/2008, -0/+1dude! totally forgot about those little bastards... that's for pulling that song up in my memory... now i can't stop hearing the chorus internally... it makes me want to punch a baby...
if dane cook can do it, so can it...
- CuriosityBites, on 09/24/2008, -16/+0I agree with ya silverzone.
Even my 15 year old daughter thinks it's the *****! I am so glad that she kisses boys ;)- feezus, on 09/24/2008, -6/+5Appearantly you don't know your daughter as well as I do.
- Nintendesert, on 09/24/2008, -2/+3Dugg down for not providing pics.
- dougwastaken, on 09/24/2008, -1/+1kisses boys at 15 and listens to that *****? aside from homophobia you've got a whole nother slew of experimental problems headed yer way, sir.... i mean 15's a fine age for thems to be kissing it's just... i mean christ i got out of high school a few years ago and the girls that listen to pop music are probably the sluttiest i ever knew next to the kinky tim burton fans.
- MrTankJump, on 09/24/2008, -2/+94More importantly "Soulja Boy"
- larissa13, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2Terrible, Horrible Song~ACK!
- koenigje, on 09/24/2008, -0/+9Yoooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.
- LRE13, on 09/24/2008, -0/+1Yes. Although hard to believe when it first came out but that marco polo song actually is worse.
- orangefly, on 09/24/2008, -3/+10whoomp there it is....???....
- Zedian, on 09/24/2008, -1/+18Hey at least "Soulja Boy" brought it's own dance.
*Says that with utter sarcasm*- ATLien74, on 09/24/2008, -0/+9So did the Macarena.
- koenigje, on 09/24/2008, -1/+1Unlike the Macarena
- scot333, on 09/24/2008, -38/+411. "I smoke pole" by the *****
12. "My pussy hurts" by the Libtards
13. "Die you islamic scumbag" by Dick Cheney
14. "*****" by the Pussies- kyhx, on 09/24/2008, -1/+28That was just dumb.
- Stevethegreat, on 09/24/2008, -1/+22There's dozens worse and more annoying singers than Rick Astley that I can think of. He may be cheesy as hell but he's quite a good singer himself, in fact he's better than MOST popular singers, it's a shame that he's on that list because if anything his infamy is artificial due to the internet meme rather than his lack of talent.
- falkonv7l, on 09/24/2008, -0/+6I don't think this category can support only ten songs, I agree with the "MmmmBop", "Soulja Boy", or even "Over and Over Again".
- Firespray1138, on 09/24/2008, -7/+5***** I liked the Macarena =(
- Ersh777, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2Buried for liking the Macarena. Sorry.
- Firespray1138, on 09/24/2008, -0/+4I still have the CD too =/
- bagboyrebel, on 09/24/2008, -0/+3Dear God man! What's wrong with you!!!
- Ersh777, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2Buried for liking the Macarena. Sorry.
- falkonv7l, on 09/24/2008, -1/+1Bleeding Love!
- ansatsu29, on 09/24/2008, -0/+3Bleeding love is better than those in the list.
- falkonv7l, on 09/24/2008, -0/+1I got tired of hearing it soooooooo much.
- SomeRandomGuy, on 09/24/2008, -1/+3That list fails for including Rick Astley, and for not making this #1.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disco_Duck - hahahafr, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2what's the matter with "Don't Worry, Be Happy" by Bobby McFerrin ?
good song I find. - xrambo, on 09/25/2008, -0/+2Aqua - Barbie Girl for #1 anyone??
- silverzone, on 09/24/2008, -5/+96Wheres that ***** stupid ass I kissed a girl song???
- tombomb, on 09/24/2008, -2/+19I don't know whether Rick Astley should be moved off this list or shot up to #1 after this rickroll fad.
- binorgog, on 09/24/2008, -2/+3Hey Duckie, let me put the 7 inch in the computer.
- billymeade, on 09/24/2008, -0/+3...if it breaks when it bends, you better not put it in!
I gotta disagree with Batdance on the list - even 20 years later (wow, didn't realize how old that song is), there's not another song like it.
- billymeade, on 09/24/2008, -0/+3...if it breaks when it bends, you better not put it in!
- Oddish, on 09/24/2008, -6/+66Opinions are like assholes...
- imnojezus, on 09/24/2008, -1/+48Full of *****.
- Revolution101, on 09/24/2008, -8/+6and everyone has their own
- jdames1980, on 09/24/2008, -0/+17They work best when open... Ooops wrong saying.
- KaseyCarbone, on 09/24/2008, -0/+0*hi5*
- wrestlingnrj, on 09/24/2008, -4/+3Everyone has one and they all stink
- DetpackJump, on 09/24/2008, -6/+1They smell like my finger?
- Slick37c, on 09/24/2008, -12/+1And if they didn't ***** the assholes,
you know what you'd get?
You'd get your dick and your pussy
all covered in *****.
- imnojezus, on 09/24/2008, -1/+48Full of *****.
- bmc31190, on 09/24/2008, -1/+16there are much worse songs that have hit #1, the author is probably a fan though.
- Premier, on 09/24/2008, -4/+40"Why does it sound like his balls are clamped while he’s singing the song"
It's called a Falsetto - Garofoli, on 09/24/2008, -22/+3Who let the dogs out? What the hell? I actually liked that song. WOOF WOOF.
- dajuggernaut, on 09/24/2008, -1/+4I'm not even going to bother burring that comment down... I have the satisfaction of knowing that natural selection will get his ass
- keitarofujiwara, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2Yeah, but you bothered to write an entire ***** comment.
- Garofoli, on 09/24/2008, -0/+1Dammit... Forgot to add "/sarcasm." Silly me, not knowing typing and talking are different things. Also not realizing how ignorant people are with their inability to pick up on people saying "WOOF WOOF."
- dajuggernaut, on 09/24/2008, -1/+4I'm not even going to bother burring that comment down... I have the satisfaction of knowing that natural selection will get his ass
- llama5492, on 09/24/2008, -4/+171This list sucks.
- jason4188, on 09/24/2008, -10/+2I knew that the list was wrong immediately when I saw this.
2. "Macarena" by Los Del Rio (1995)
Number 2? I was 15 years old when that song came out and it made me not like girls at a time in my life when I wanted nothing more in the world than to stick my dick in them. How could I they had me barricaded off with this invisible fence called the, "Macarena". That song is one of the worst things ever.- spamly, on 09/24/2008, -0/+6Smooth man. Smooth.
- jason4188, on 09/24/2008, -10/+2I knew that the list was wrong immediately when I saw this.
- bakshi, on 09/24/2008, -17/+9Where is Viva La Vida by Coldplay? Seriously, Chris Martin is going the way of Chris Daughtry and trying too hard to be like U2.
- bbtweb, on 09/24/2008, -3/+3Viva La Vida sounds nothing like anything on the radio currently, Coldplay is in a league of their own and they have the talent to play and sound live exactly how they do on the cd. Viva La Vida also sounds nothing like any U2 song I've heard and I own every single U2 album.
- BabyWookie, on 09/24/2008, -1/+1Yeah. It doesn't sound like any thing on the radio today. It just sounds like every thing on the radio in the mid-80's. Also, sounding live exactly like you sound in the studio is not a talent - it's a ***** bore. When I go see a band live, I want some improvisation and variation. Otherwise, I would just listen to the ***** CD.
- bbtweb, on 09/24/2008, -0/+1not even close to the mid 80s. Some of the synthesized sounds used on their new album weren't even remotely available in the 80s. If you knew anything about music you would know that. Ok, so maybe you don't like bands to sound like they do on the CD, there's nothing wrong with that if you prefer improvisation more. Just as many people prefer bands to play their music like on their CD so they can sing along and know what to expect - also their opinion and that's fine. But either choice made by a band requires great talent and skill. In fact for a band to want to sound like they do on the CD to show everyone that they actually play all those parts you hear on the CD and it's not a bunch of sampled loops on a computer, like half of pop music today, requires incredible talent and knowledge of instrumentation and orchestration. Lack of talent is illustrated by bands that lip sync or attempt to sing but can't hold tune to save their lives. So no matter what kind of concert you prefer, you cannot argue by any factually based means that Coldplay lacks talent and originality. You may not care for them or their style and that's fine, but that's your opinion and no measure of the group's talent.
- Linzee82, on 09/24/2008, -1/+3Thank you!! It feels so good to hear someone else say it. *****' U2 wannabes.

- whittmadden, on 09/24/2008, -0/+10If any song needs to be on this list, it's that one!
- triferlinks, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2for real man.
- koenigje, on 09/24/2008, -0/+3Yoooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuu!
- MOJIRA, on 09/24/2008, -0/+3Eating a dick.
- bangalter, on 09/27/2008, -0/+0BLACK ICE.
- timusca, on 09/24/2008, -3/+20While I was actually a big fan of the band's harder stuff back in the day, With Arms Wide Open by Creed needs to be on that list.
- fleischkopf, on 09/24/2008, -3/+5yeah, creed used to rock so hard.
- salinemist, on 09/24/2008, -0/+9Our band should play CHRISTIAN ROCK!
- timusca, on 09/24/2008, -0/+3Faith+1
- timusca, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2They actually did... they had a lot of really hard stuff they just never played on the radio.
- bangalter, on 09/27/2008, -0/+0If you think Creed has every played anything hard then you've-... Oh ***** it. You're hopeless if you think Creed ever did anything worthwhile.
- fleischkopf, on 09/24/2008, -3/+5yeah, creed used to rock so hard.
- NathanielJ, on 09/24/2008, -2/+10MadTV's take on #1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_4n7kmA5wM
- shakabrah, on 09/24/2008, -5/+2wow, i clicked expecting to get rickrolled. but it was really just MadTV's take on #1. i am disappointed...
- bassfanatik, on 09/24/2008, -3/+1That was pretty good..
- alexY2k, on 09/24/2008, -24/+1Oh god so immature and so "please i wanna go to front page" post, and actually most of these songs are good and inspiring and original.
If you sooo wanna be front-paged ever again you can suck my ***** and whoops, you're there!
-- Best regards,
Digg bot - DDDavinnn, on 09/24/2008, -8/+21I, too, hate James Blunt.
- Strunt, on 09/24/2008, -3/+5everyone hates James Blunt. Except fools.
- larissa13, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2Not a big fan of James Blunt. I did rather like the Bad Day song though. I wouldnt have added that song to the list. I could think of many others to replace it.
- DCGUY12, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2stay, "Beautifullllll, beautiful, it's true" DDDavinn.
- DDDavinnn, on 09/24/2008, -0/+1noooooooooo
- Strunt, on 09/24/2008, -3/+5everyone hates James Blunt. Except fools.
- mgraham80, on 09/24/2008, -3/+125You know, Never Gonna Give You Up is actually a good song. I sometimes Rick Roll myself just to hear it again.
- dynelol, on 09/24/2008, -1/+40That and Don't Worry, Be Happy.
Then again, I like The Safety Dance and Cotton-Eyed Joe.- drgmdp, on 09/24/2008, -0/+1agree, bobby mc ferrin is an awesome artist.
you gotta listen to him and *chick corea* in a live recording that's there around.
it's outstanding.
- drgmdp, on 09/24/2008, -0/+1agree, bobby mc ferrin is an awesome artist.
- shadyrudy, on 09/24/2008, -0/+13I have it as my ringtone. I get Rolled all the time.
- Procure, on 09/24/2008, -4/+4Be honest- No one calls you.
- sweatymongoose, on 09/24/2008, -0/+1haha, same here
- Memnochxx, on 09/24/2008, -0/+11I watch rickroll so much all my suggested videos are Rick Astley.
- TheWorm, on 09/24/2008, -3/+2I'll never understand why so many people enjoy hearing that mediocre disco
- dougmc, on 09/24/2008, -0/+4... which is exactly why it works. If it was the song `Wildfire' by Michael Murphy (which hit #3, I might add) -- the `wildroll' would have never taken off, because you're _supposed_ to hate that song. But Never Gonna Give you Up ... that song is catchy, and it's aged pretty well. Most people don't really mind being rickrolled that much.
- dynelol, on 09/24/2008, -1/+40That and Don't Worry, Be Happy.
- kelsosmythe, on 09/24/2008, -2/+7Damnit... RickRolled
Well played spike. - E9437, on 09/24/2008, -9/+114don't talk ***** about "don't worry be happy"!
i ***** love that song.- dynelol, on 09/24/2008, -0/+16The video is good, too. I like that one and NGGYU.
- SiliconRain, on 09/24/2008, -1/+7And it is NOT sung a cappella as the author of the list would have us believe.
- paidhima, on 09/24/2008, -0/+7It is a cappella. There are no mechanical instruments used in the song. Every sound is made by McFerrin's voice and body. The most you can say is that it's a bit of a cheat, as he lays down individual tracks himself and puts them together to make the final song rather than just having a bunch of people all doing it live.
- skeletorcares, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2That's where the list starts to go from, 'worst' to 'overplayed' or 'annoying'. Batdance should have been #1, that song is awful, not just overplayed and annoying.
- JCougar, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2I hear you... Bobby McFarrin is a great artist. I would have felt more comfortable with this in its place:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHaI4uZ4oeg
or anything by Destiny's Child..
- meikl, on 09/24/2008, -0/+3I'd rather swap good old Rick Astley for the unholy cooperation of Marky Mark and Prince Ital Joe. Now THAT was real crap!
- JCougar, on 09/24/2008, -0/+1Oooh... that is a bad one. I love that Marky Mark's sporting the dream team jersey.
- sillygato, on 09/24/2008, -9/+50Buried for James Blunt at #1. Who numbered this list? How can You're Beautiful POSSIBLY be at #1 when it's on the same list as Who Let the Dogs Out?
- brentinkc, on 09/24/2008, -10/+9It's a ***** terrible song. Obviously the writer has a strong disdain for it, but it really is awful.
"My life is brilliant, my love is pure
I saw an angel of that I'm sure
She smiled at me on the subway
She was with another man
But I won't lose no sleep on that
'Cause I've got a plan "
'Nuff said.- McHaleR, on 09/24/2008, -1/+9but its not awful enough to be number 1 on the list.
- jer21, on 09/24/2008, -0/+8It may be an awful song, but try playing it for a chick on you guitar...it's almost as good as slipping a roofie in her drink.
- rheaume, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2"saw an interview with james on tv and he said he wrote this song when he saw his ex-girlfriend with her new boyfriend (that he didn't know about at the time).
so everyone who guessed the song's meaning was along that line is right! haha
but the lyrics are confusing. james himself said a lot of people play this song at their weddings...which knowing the real meaning of the song now is kinda weir"
So really, you should hate the morons that misinterpret the meaning of the song.
So much ***** music for this song to be #1, Im sure most of you liked it the first 100 times you heard it, the 6493th time? Not so much.
- ZeeZee2k, on 09/24/2008, -4/+6This list sucks!! I ***** love James Blunt!
- Fracatsa, on 09/24/2008, -0/+1Problem is, he does have good songs on his album back to bedlam but this is the only one people know about and it played too many ***** times...now people are understandingly sick of it.
- RawMeat3000, on 09/25/2008, -0/+0He really is a talented songwriter, even if a lot of his lyrics are crap.
- ronaldinho, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2This list is crap. I know James Blunt sounds like the most pussified guy in the world, but the guy at least can ***** sing. ***** the cheesy theme for a moment - ALL pop songs are ***** cheesy anyway. Give credit where it's due. Blunt isn't my favorite, but I will take him over Baha Men, Backstreet Boys, and Spice Girls ANYDAY.
Just my 2 cents. At least I think he has the singing capacity to belt out some Radiohead songs quite nicely. Try asking Backstreet Boys to do THAT.
- brentinkc, on 09/24/2008, -10/+9It's a ***** terrible song. Obviously the writer has a strong disdain for it, but it really is awful.
- ProjectGSX, on 09/24/2008, -8/+25I can only assume that god awful Chumbawumba song never hit #1.
- FallenTurtles, on 09/24/2008, -2/+29Whoa man. Whoa. Let's not say things we can't take back.
- AtraNoxVII, on 09/24/2008, -7/+4I got knocked down but I got up again, you're never gonna keep me down.
- crichards7, on 09/24/2008, -2/+4Awww, I like that song.
- FallenTurtles, on 09/24/2008, -2/+29Whoa man. Whoa. Let's not say things we can't take back.
- mckaymic, on 09/24/2008, -2/+14How did he manage to forget Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice. That sticks out in my mind as the worst song of all time that hit #1.
- ahhell, on 09/24/2008, -1/+18Blasphemer!!!!!
Ice kicks so much ass he has to import more from China.- purzzzell, on 09/24/2008, -1/+11I was going to bury you for supporting Ice. But I'm digging you for a kickass line.
- pault107, on 09/24/2008, -0/+5Surely not - he rocks the mic like a vandal and, also, waxes chumps like a candle.
- ahhell, on 09/24/2008, -1/+18Blasphemer!!!!!
- iamabootdisk, on 09/24/2008, -7/+8GET THE ***** UP BATMAN
- rjc5056, on 09/24/2008, -7/+1Who Let The Dogs Out??? How dare you make fun of Mitt Romney's campaign song!
- lefthandpisces, on 09/24/2008, -3/+50why isn't soulja boy on this list?
- noloveIII, on 09/24/2008, -0/+5does he have a number 1 song i hope not
- funk1999, on 09/24/2008, -0/+5Unfortunately, yes. I think this is a sign the apocalypse is right around the corner.
"Crank That (Soulja Boy)" is the Grammy nominated debut single by American rapper Soulja Boy from his debut album souljaboytellem.com. It has spent seven weeks at number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 2007. "

- jkahrs595, on 09/24/2008, -11/+23James Blunt really does suck.
- fixator, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2He whinges!
- tdogg241, on 09/24/2008, -0/+1I remember seeing him on SNL and when he looked at the camera during his performances, he looked like he was about to be murdered. He had this odd look of fear on his face. It was unsettling and hilarious. Too bad his music is just unsettling.
- fixator, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2He whinges!
- Riffraffs, on 09/24/2008, -4/+4You like what you like, nether right or wrong
- jpkeisala, on 09/24/2008, -5/+11The list sucks. Some of them I actually like it.
- mastazed, on 09/24/2008, -1/+15Thumbs up for 10 items and 1 page
- Bagrad, on 09/24/2008, -1/+25A killer metal album ? Am I ***** stupid ??

- CarStan, on 09/24/2008, -1/+19REALLY? Thats the worst the US could come up with? You are lucky
Lets take a look at some of the biggest hits in Germany of the last 4 years)

LOL I remember when this came out, It wasn't as big in the UK thankfully - BryanTravers, on 09/24/2008, -0/+3I'm sorry, the only German music I happen to be familiar with is this. And it is sufficiently awesome:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mm2eT-sTVys- CarStan, on 09/24/2008, -0/+1lol, the ironing: 'This video is not available in your country.'
- nobleexperiment, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2Yeah. Well. Germans Love David Hasselhoff.
I'm not keen on the song but I love this music video from Germany. Ich Bin Ein Trinker.

"This video is not available in your country. "
lol wut? - JStille, on 09/25/2008, -0/+0Ahhh Schnappi and Schnuffel ... bringing back painful memories of those songs being played a billion times on the radio and MTV. It's no wonder why I don't watch TV or listen to the radio anymore.
- weeFred, on 09/24/2008, -0/+1Schee Schnaw Schnappi das kleine crocodile!!
- SRSco, on 09/24/2008, -3/+48"Never Gonna Give You Up" is actually a pretty good song. It doesn't belong on this list. It was just included so this could sail to the top of news aggregator sites due to the popularity of the Rick Roll meme.
- JByrd, on 09/24/2008, -14/+2"actually a pretty good song"...well, of course you are entitled to your opinion, but I don't believe you will find that many folks are in agreement.
- JByrd, on 09/24/2008, -0/+1Well excuse me, I guess I was sadly mistaken. Apparently people do think it's a pretty good song. Roll on then...
- awtripp, on 09/24/2008, -7/+3No, its a terrible song. It's trite and shallow. It's just plain ***** dumb. Plus, he's liar, no man can keep the promises he makes in that song; and if you disagree -- why put the pussy on pedestal? Bitch needs to get let down and be given up every now and again. Damnit, LET ME JUST WATCH FOOTBALL!
- JByrd, on 09/24/2008, -14/+2"actually a pretty good song"...well, of course you are entitled to your opinion, but I don't believe you will find that many folks are in agreement.
- bigfatphony19, on 09/24/2008, -6/+7I'm glad that people haven't forgotten the ***** awfulness that was James blunt.
- bassfanatik, on 09/24/2008, -10/+17Dugg for the James Blunt #1....I f**king hate that song.
- feezus, on 09/24/2008, -0/+24In before Prince's legal team brings down the video.
- frostbyt, on 09/24/2008, -5/+2Good list. Anyone who does not agree with us is dumb.
- amprather, on 09/24/2008, -10/+9James Blunt? Really?
I agree that about 5 of these belong on this list, but that's my opinion, like this is someone else's opinion. - Bmarofsky, on 09/24/2008, -6/+54What? No Nickleback?
- tdogg241, on 09/24/2008, -0/+1Or Creed!?!?!
- eastwood24, on 09/24/2008, -1/+2Jury is still out on whether or not the noise Nickelback produces can be classified as songs.
Question: What is worse, having some guy cream your face or having to listen only to nickelback for a month?
Answer: You can wipe your face off, but you wipe Nickelback off your soul.- bangalter, on 09/27/2008, -0/+0Chad Kroger (singer of Nickelback) likes cream on his face.
Because he's gay.
- bangalter, on 09/27/2008, -0/+0Chad Kroger (singer of Nickelback) likes cream on his face.
- gall0wsp0le, on 09/25/2008, -0/+1Has a Nickelback song ever hit number one on the charts? If so then any of them qualify for the worst of all time.
- SpookyPig, on 09/24/2008, -3/+21Nickelback?
- aspec, on 09/24/2008, -1/+4I think the author was just sour about getting rick rolled one too many times in the office email jokes. There are way worse #1s than that one.
- doshindude, on 09/24/2008, -3/+47Soulja Boy?
That retarded "i kissed a girl" song?
..anything by Hannah Montana?- Memnochxx, on 09/24/2008, -0/+15Hannah Montana isn't a person.
- itsradBrad, on 09/24/2008, -5/+5LEAVE HANNAH ALONE!!!
- jerrolds, on 09/24/2008, -1/+4I wanna digg you up for Soulja Boy, but then Katy Perry is pretty hot...
But i hate Soulja Boy so much
Dugg. - Neekolazz, on 09/24/2008, -0/+4@jerrolds
She's also the biggest attention whore of this century. "I kissed a girl and I liked it"? Come on... - bangalter, on 09/27/2008, -0/+0Well that's not technically music, so...
- sjmulder, on 09/24/2008, -0/+6I'll judge for myself, thank you.
- jonmlm, on 09/24/2008, -1/+6buried for including batdance. everything else is pretty obvious too
- zaren, on 09/24/2008, -0/+6James who?
Honestly, I've never heard that song before. All the other ones I've heard a million times, and while I've heard the name James Blunt, I don't think I've heard a song by him, and I know I've never heard the one on this list.
Apparently, I'm now old.- Zedian, on 09/24/2008, -1/+4Lyrically that is one of the most incoherent songs and his voice is so annoying.
Trust me Zaren your not missing out on damn thing here. Now go back to doing what you were doing. - Strunt, on 09/24/2008, -1/+7You lucky, lucky person!
Keep it that way.
- Zedian, on 09/24/2008, -1/+4Lyrically that is one of the most incoherent songs and his voice is so annoying.
