      I was lucky that I logged onto myspace to see a weezer post saying the pork and beans video was posted on youtube at the time it had 233 views. I put it on digg shouted it to about 100 friends and hoped for the best. I got lucky and it got to the front page.

      Now mrbaby is duping my story and people say he isnt in it for the fame. mmmmmmm.

The band got big by striking a deal of having their music video Buddy Holly bundled on the Windows 95 CD-ROM. And this was a time where few people associated multimedia beyond ancient computer games with PCs. So it was a genius move, especially against the standard paranoia which would hold that the song could be copied/would reduce sales/etc that we still see today but would have been the "common sense" of 1995.

    They didn't do it to the same scale though, which could be argued, is a better thing. Having the 'stars' film it themselves and use the raw, low res webcam footage makes it feel more authentic.
