- corbyboy, on 08/28/2008, -10/+7I'm sure they made sense at the time. Hilarious!!!
- Inohavehalos, on 08/29/2008, -0/+4http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7xEFRUHV-U&feature ...
did this? - themastersb, on 08/30/2008, -0/+4if only the Game Gear didn't take 6 AA batteries and only last a few hours. It would have actually been the better handheld.
- Inohavehalos, on 08/29/2008, -0/+4http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7xEFRUHV-U&feature ...
- AwesomeInTheory, on 08/29/2008, -1/+10Oh man, those Game Gear ads I think I saw like 5,000,000 times when I was younger. They played non-stop on the telly.
I was hoping to see a Dr. Mario ad or the ad for Tetris with 2 Russian bears. Oh well, those were all awesome.- luke16, on 08/29/2008, -0/+5I wish game commercials were still like this. The only game commercials we get here show a ***** pensioner trying to get a high score on Doctor Ichi the Killer's Brain Accademy.
What happened man? Bring back cool commercials that make no sense. - thatsmyaibo, on 08/29/2008, -0/+6The Game Gear was cool. I even had the TV Tuner. SEGA has a way of being ahead of its time...unfortunately it took 6 batteries to operate and they needed to be replaced once a week.
- 8bitflu, on 08/29/2008, -0/+7Once a Week? Did you have some kind of special batteries? I would play Sonic, and every time I got the last guy, it started going dead and I wouldn't be able to finish the God Forsaken Game. Ughh.
- PleaseJustDie, on 08/29/2008, -0/+6I had a rechargeable battery pack and the TV tuner.
I loved the TV tuner for that thing, it made long drives and camping trips soooo much more bearable. It was always fun to have it plugged into the cigarette lighter during long drives and as you pass cities just spin the dial to see what's on...
I even bought a little coax to mini-coax cable so I could hook up a VCR to it, hell I even had my snes and playstation playing through the tv adapter on my game gear. Only problem is you can't read the text on FF6 cause the tiny liquid crystal display is too small and not clear enough. - themastersb, on 08/30/2008, -1/+2Once a week? Maybe if you played only 30 minutes a day.
- ej1oo1, on 08/29/2008, -0/+2The Game Gear was bad ass i played sonic on it when I was a kid for like a billion hours and I had an ac adapter to solve its battery crisis.
- luke16, on 08/29/2008, -0/+5I wish game commercials were still like this. The only game commercials we get here show a ***** pensioner trying to get a high score on Doctor Ichi the Killer's Brain Accademy.
- shiftzor, on 08/29/2008, -1/+4where is the old school mario 3 commercial with all the people chanting "mario"?
i remember it being cool but it was probably totally lame.- DarkStryke, on 08/29/2008, -0/+3http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wz2z-ZbcxT0

- pisseddog, on 08/29/2008, -2/+24I'm not sure if this counts as a commercial but it's pretty sick... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Xfqkdh5Js4

- etgoboom, on 08/29/2008, -0/+6i dont think the jet moto2 commercial would be airable in today's Politically correct world
- Archeologist, on 08/29/2008, -0/+1Oh man I remember Jet moto. That was one of my favorite games on the PS1.
- T00LB0X, on 08/30/2008, -0/+1YAH that and jet moto2...IT was so much fun...where can i find that now (googles playstation emulators)
- belebih, on 08/29/2008, -0/+11Wow, it's the fat dude from Mallrats in that Game Gear commercial. He should have tried that same trick at the mall in order to see the sail boat.
- alight, on 08/29/2008, -0/+9Willam!

- PopASquatt, on 08/30/2008, -0/+1Ethan Suplee, or something like that. He was also on American History X

- xsquirrel378x, on 08/29/2008, -3/+6Yes some of us actually grew up during this time period.
- Gimjee, on 08/29/2008, -5/+5At first I was like "-_-" then I saw the laughing Ostrich and was like "O_O".
- 1timeuser, on 08/30/2008, -1/+2Really? Cause I was all like "@_@".
- ryborg, on 08/29/2008, -0/+2Check out the drug reference at 9.20

- LeonHRodriguez, on 08/29/2008, -0/+4...mushrooms.
- grav80bong, on 08/29/2008, -0/+15I was brought here solely by the fact that Mr. Perfect was used as the image. Well done submitter.
- NeiloMac, on 08/29/2008, -0/+2Ditto. Curt Hennig FTW.
- Dr00pieS, on 08/29/2008, -0/+2Perfect
- solid12345, on 08/30/2008, -0/+1Dugg anytime old school wrestling gets a mention, the one subculture that is not represented enough on digg

- BrotherHero, on 08/29/2008, -0/+2What's with all the Japanese commercials?
- disappointed, on 08/29/2008, -1/+4I guess the Japanese like video games. Who knew?
- luke16, on 08/29/2008, -0/+1I still have my Gamegear with about 30 games. My favourite games were the Shinobi series, followed closely by Monaco GP Racing, which i use to master every track. It's a shame though because the power-jack is broken and no longer turns on.
- MrM4nager, on 08/29/2008, -0/+3Well, you could still use eight AA Batteries and get like, what, 20 minutes of life?
- luke16, on 08/29/2008, -0/+1The broken power-jack fried the circuit board. Similar thing happens when you get a wobbly laptop power-jack.
- Shaflugi, on 08/29/2008, -0/+2Get a new Gamegear, I think they're pretty cheap on ebay.
- MrM4nager, on 08/29/2008, -0/+3Well, you could still use eight AA Batteries and get like, what, 20 minutes of life?
- Hanzolot, on 08/29/2008, -0/+1Including "Kung Fu" as a zapper game was a nice touch (~30 secs).
And trying to sell fighting games to nerds so they won't get picked on any more (~9 mins).
Sweet. - luke16, on 08/29/2008, -0/+12:30 - 3:00 - What just happened?
- anyo, on 08/29/2008, -0/+3http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wz2z-ZbcxT0
Mario chant video... - Bhaald, on 08/29/2008, -0/+1Ahhhh man Royal Rumble, my friends and I had sooo much fun playing that! I remember our thumbs would be swore from smashing the buttons when you locked with opponents. Anyone remember that game solstice? Ahh good times!
- JoshuaSciarrino, on 08/29/2008, -3/+1Ah, the days when video games were simple...I'm glad those are over. :)
- luke16, on 08/29/2008, -2/+46:17 - guy from 'My Name is Earl'
He has come a long way. - LeadStripes, on 08/29/2008, -0/+3Yoshi's Island Fat Man is a Mr. Creosote rip off
- LeonHRodriguez, on 08/29/2008, -0/+1"It is a wah-fer thin, sir."
- kenkyomausu, on 08/29/2008, -2/+2Maybe some of these would be more nostalgic if i grew up in japan...
- TorontoJays, on 08/29/2008, -0/+1Wheres the Japanese Link to the past commercial with Link as a girl and everyones dancing.
- InfinitySnatch, on 08/29/2008, -0/+14I like how the video is more pixelated than the old school games.
- GuitarHeroDenn, on 08/29/2008, -3/+2No Zelda Rap, no Smash Bros, no Digg.
- LeonHRodriguez, on 08/29/2008, -0/+2I was really hoping they'd show the Metal Gear Solid "suicide mission" commercial :(
- username7410, on 08/29/2008, -0/+4Genesis Does!
LOL - ryleyleckie, on 08/29/2008, -1/+2there is absolutely nothing wrong with the Mario 3 commercial.
- directedition, on 08/29/2008, -3/+2I'm not sure you can count it as 'nostalgic' when it's from a whole different country..... Maybe for people in that country it is. I don't know about other people here, but I didn't watch much Japanese television in the late 80s and early 90s.
- 1shawn, on 08/29/2008, -0/+7OMG 16 BITS!!!
- ChayD, on 08/29/2008, -0/+516 bits? Luxury! In my day we only had four.
- themadhatter444, on 08/29/2008, -4/+4These would be nostalgic if I was from Japan.

Best one ever- SreyaNotfilc, on 09/01/2008, -0/+1The reason why it's missing is probably because it had 4x the amount of bits as the games in the video.
- deaftly, on 08/29/2008, -0/+2Dreamcast always had the coolest commercials
- bensone1, on 08/29/2008, -1/+3wow looking back on 989 studios... FAIL
- Gonasadude, on 08/29/2008, -1/+3SEGA DOES WHAT NINTENDON'T
- VinnieDaMac, on 08/29/2008, -0/+1Those old SNES wrestling games were fun. So were the N64 ones.
- Bungleboss, on 08/29/2008, -0/+0Anyone in the UK remember the Super Nintendo ads with Rik Mayall? They were *****.
And the Mega Seedy/CD fat man in his van? - gitboxgreg, on 08/29/2008, -0/+1ok jetmotto2 was the best ps1 game ever! I still play it all the time.
