- Dradis, on 10/11/2007, -3/+103Killer, dude.
- short_man, on 10/11/2007, -2/+15I see what you did there
- Spuy767, on 10/11/2007, -0/+26I would hate to be the ***** who tried to get this ***** thing into an airport.
- texpundit, on 10/11/2007, -8/+8"I would hate to be the ***** who tried to get this ***** thing into an airport."
Dude...I'd be the ***** just to cause a little havoc. I'd even bring it in inside one of the Coffin Cases. ***** the TSA and their oppressive *****.- tizz66, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11I think you have more mouth than balls to be honest. If you disagree, go and try it, and write up a blog post for us.
- RoboPimp3000, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Yeah, ***** them for trying to keep us safe on planes!
- badjoke, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Anarchy would obviously be more secure and reasonable.
- JordanVictor, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3I wonder if it could be used as both gun and guitar at the same time? If Herman Li of Dragonforce played with it his ultra-fast playing would distract Al-Quaida long enough for him to mow them down.
- psycho79, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2For those 'killer' riffs.
- secretwhistle, on 10/11/2007, -15/+4I'm leaning toward preposterous.
- markdr123, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6I'm leaning towards cool.
- badjoke, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I'll double that lean to overtake secretwhistle.
- markdr123, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6I'm leaning towards cool.
- murty, on 10/11/2007, -14/+59If only terrorists used them instead of the real thing, the world would so much more peaceful.
- corleone, on 10/11/2007, -3/+20"If only *anyone* used them instead of the real thing, the world would be so much more peaceful."
Just to say that terrorists are only partly responsible for the fact that the world is not a peaceful place. Good point though.- Fooord, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I think he meant that terrorists used these guns. It's a common stereotype...
- theoallardyce, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4I have a feeling it will be the other way around - they'll start hiding guns inside guitars so they can pretend to be hippies and then shot you.
- Infowarmachine, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3oh crap, i see another desperado sequel coming out
- Infowarmachine, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3oh crap, i see another desperado sequel coming out
- chris9902, on 10/11/2007, -1/+49We bombed this city! We bombed this city with ROCK-AND-ROLL!
- Morphinity, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4They would melt people's faces!
- darny, on 10/11/2007, -4/+6wow, that's lame.
- ArgusDrake, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Maybe, but would you really want emo terrorist bands?
- badjoke, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2We wouldn't have to worry about killing them, they'd do it themselves.
- derekbez, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2See digg article on 6.5 billion people. We need more killing.
- skyfire1, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4With their long beards and bushy eyebrows, I'm surprised they're not hippies.
- Zippo, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3If terrorists played AK-47 guitars, would Bush play a missile-shaped banjo?
- hiroki40, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2so, who said terrorists use ak-47? are you playing too much counter-strike or you just are implying russians are terrorists?
- badjoke, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2The middle east is flooded with bought or stolen soviet weaponry. Video game creators don't just say "Hmmm, terrorists would look cool with AKs. Let's add 'em!"
- BabyWookie, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1The Russians hardly use AK-47s any more. The army uses AK-74Ms.
- corleone, on 10/11/2007, -3/+20"If only *anyone* used them instead of the real thing, the world would be so much more peaceful."
- laterthandawn, on 10/11/2007, -3/+38If the guitarist plays in Iron Maiden, this is acceptable. Otherwise, no.
Honorable mention goes to Megadeth.- mikaPELL, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2Uuhhh. Guns 'n' Roses?
- gregsmamma, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I'm pretty sure this guitar belongs to John Rambo.
- mikaPELL, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2Uuhhh. Guns 'n' Roses?
- donveto, on 10/11/2007, -1/+62cool guitar, might be hard getting it through airport customs.
- ronaldinho, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2and perhaps anywhere else in that matter
- FameMoney, on 10/11/2007, -6/+7"Killer creativity"
- bakkouz, on 10/11/2007, -9/+7Not as cool as the Angel Sword Guitar: http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/angel-sword-guitar/
- imacashew, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3actually it's much cooler
- gameforge, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Don't know why you're being dugg down, that's far and away a better guitar (and cooler looking). The angel guitar has floyd rose locking tremolo, and looks like a guitar that a superhero would play. The AK-47 guitar is cool, but honestly... probably would have been a lot cooler in the 80s.
- merreborn, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1"The angel guitar has floyd rose locking tremolo"
Really? While I'm no expert, I don't see any sign of a tremolo on there anywhere, and it's certainly not mentioned in the ebay page, or the gizmodo page. As far as I can tell, that thing doesn't even have a volume knob. A $100 walmart guitar has more features than that thing.- gameforge, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1You're absolutely right, I didn't even look for the tremolo (whammy) bar. But, notice the three studs on the headstock where the chin would be, and the six finger nuts on the end of the bridge where the ends of the strings would be? As far as I know, this is a string locking setup (once?) patented by Floyd Rose. While there is no tremolo bar, the idea is the same - the strings are locked at the same distance, so as long as the bridge intonation doesn't change and the strings don't stretch, the strings cannot go out of tune. I would imagine on non-traditional body guitars, this is important.
If it were to have a tremolo ("whammy") bar, you could drop it as low as it would go, to the point that you could bunch the strings together in a pony tail, and let go to its original position and not one string would be out of tune. Notice the locking nuts and hardware in this picture:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Floyd_rose_pro_parts.jpg
A $100 Wal-Mart guitar has a steaming turd for a tremolo system, junk electronics, and a cheap lightweight body. That Angel guitar probably has pretty nice pickups, a nice fingerboard (one where the strings don't get stuck on the frets), good electronics, and a good bridge/suspension system.
My guitar is a $700 ESP H-200, it has two humbucking pickups, a single tone and volume control and a three position pickup switch. No tremolo, locking strings, etc. - a guitar doesn't need lots of features to have a plethora of different sounds, or to have a great feel when you play it.
Anyway, I stand corrected. :)
Edit: low and behold, that Angel guitar is made by ESP...

- JRjJ106, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Now this looks more like a guitar that Manowar would use.
- Nick22, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1If only that guitar didnt look like a penis...
- BevansDesign, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I suggest you check out Rick Nielsen's guitar collection some time. By "some time", I of course mean right now! http://www.hamerguitars.com/?fa=rick_nielsen

- zooxbeirut, on 10/11/2007, -11/+7'You're gonna sit down and listen to me play some guitar or i'll blow your brains out!'
very useful for beginners this guitar - jlebrech, on 10/11/2007, -0/+35A question must be asked: Does this go in a Guitar case or an AK case when visiting an airport?
- Markpdotcom, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Either way you're getting the rubber glove treatment! And put on many watch lists! :D
- ikak, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1"Welcome, to the axis of evil Mr. AK Guitar."
- texpundit, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2I'd put it in a Coffin Case. That'd *really* ***** with the TSA assholes.

- vampireblood, on 10/11/2007, -5/+1WTF is wrong with flickr I can't even save the image!
I wanted to blog it but yeah WTF!- antipax, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Flickr allows people to blog photos if the original uploader so desires. As well as downloading it, so if you can't do either, the Flickr acct owner thought better not to allow it.
Sucks, I agree. But hey, that's why there's a PrtSc key on your pc! - eaasness, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Learn how to print screen! Here... http://inhellinside.us/Ak-47-tar.png
- deadmann, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2right click > page info > media
- owlfeathers, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0If you click and drag the image to the address bar, it might work? I don't know.
- Otterdam, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Flickr overlay most of their pictures with a transparent GIF. Right-click and save picture won't work unless the picture's owner specifically allowed it to be downloaded (then you use the 'download' link).
Do what deadmann said in Firefox. In IE I suspect you'd need to get sneakier with View Source or simply print-screen. - Nick22, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1http://farm1.static.flickr.com/137/388626035_344a52a674.jpg?v=0

- munee23, on 10/11/2007, -2/+11The craftsmanship; remarkable. Now it needs a bullet-belt strap!
- slicedoranges, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5Why is it the only time I ever see semicolons actually being used, they're being used incorrectly?
- Jenovaside, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1because its digg, or the internet for that matter
- ScottMaximus1, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Exactly, they can't even use the shift key correctly and you're expecting the semicolon?
- BrokenWind, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1sometimes you feel like a semicolon; sometimes you don't
- badjoke, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1They're scary, OK?!

http://www.slade.onlinehome.de/pic/dav2.jpg - sixthplanet, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9Awesome find! It would be cool if Megadeth used it to play "Sweating Bullets"
- bumfish, on 10/11/2007, -3/+0mirror anyone?

- zapa, on 10/11/2007, -6/+2That looks stupid, sorry.
- Narwaffle, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2That's what she said.

- radiometric, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Thanks for posting those stories.
It's nice to know how this KICK ASS guitar came to be.
- nautre125, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12I saw this guitar approx a year ago. This is an artistic thing who explain that we should give up weapons and get music instruments instead. so it's more a peace symbol than a war one.
- radiometric, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1If this plan came to be, and wars were fought with bands instead of armies,
would you want to be in the moshpit for WW3?
- radiometric, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1If this plan came to be, and wars were fought with bands instead of armies,
- tonygarcia, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3http://13gb.com/pictures/439/ another AK guitar photo
- celerityfm, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5That's cool but it's not an AK-47 :)
- pifko1987, on 10/11/2007, -2/+0...And how are you 'sposed to tune it?
- blahtastic, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1A) (as mentioned) not an AK
B) It's a bass
C) Though I play guitar, not bass, and have never gotten to play with any headstock-less instruments, pretty sure you tune it with the little silver knobs below the bridge.
- blahtastic, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1A) (as mentioned) not an AK
- imkoreansowhat, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2this is from UN. I definately saw this when our class took a tour of UN.
- whaleyboy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8perfect for AK-40-Shreddin'
- Morphinity, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I see what you did there.
- insomniasystems, on 10/11/2007, -3/+0i'm a guitar luthier(i've been building guitars for 12 years now), and the first "most" important thing about any instrument is that it sounds good.... i guarantee this sounds like *****... what a piece of crap!!
- dezmo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2actually i heard in once and it is quite possible the best sounding guitar I have ever encountered. It has amazing tone and great sustain. The action is great and the pickups are amazing, I think that this artist has unknowingly stumbled upon the ultimate guitar body shape!
- imacashew, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Sounds like someone hasn't learned much in 12 years.
- Abomonog, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Not original. For years Gibson and Peavy put out an Uzi Electric. And personally, I want to see a 1917 B.A.R. Guitar. Now THAT's a bad ass gun.
- Nitrodist, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3That thing must have some killer solos.
- dilb0t, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Boz Boorer of Morrissey's band has been known to play one of these (or something very similar). It appears on the "Who Put The M In Manchester" DVD and I can tell you it does not sound rubbish!
- chrisinsocalif, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0I like the "guitar toilet seat" also.
- littlebean9, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Would you imagine wailing Zeppelin on this?
- Frailty, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Make music, not war!
- tzone, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2its awesome!!
- snooly, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2kinda weird considering that much of rocknroll was a response to WW2 and Vietnam by the thoughtful music artists who were appalled at watching people they knew go bomb and napalm, often get killed, and those that returned have life long anti-social complexes.
- SWMpls, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Thanks for that, Mr. Serious.
- kyrandian, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2This is on display in the UN-- i saw it with my own eyes last year.
- jcardinal, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Alice Cooper's guitarist played one that was an M-16
- exscind, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Interesting. When I saw this picture, I actually thought it would be perfect for "Pick Up the Bones".
- diggSJaustin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5I'm going to digg this without even looking at what it is, just because you used "[image]" instead of "[PIC]." Not sure why, but you definitely sound so much smarter that way.
- dzieger, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5"This machine kills fascists."
- wangl3r, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1That was Tom Morello (the Nightwatchman), right? Do I win?
- pilgrim3970, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1"Old news."
No, REALLY old news - A guitar manufacturer named Hondo made somehting like this in the 80s and it was just as rediculous then as this is now.
I agree with insonmiasystems, this thing no doubt sounds like crap. Should appeal to same 15 year old that likes to plug into the crapiest amp in the store, and play a butchered version of whatever is popular at the moment (back in my day it was still Zepplin's "Stairway to Heaven" or Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water")- diggSJaustin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1"Ridiculous" was spelled without an "E" in the 80s, too.
- SolipsismX, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Ancient... seriously, these things have been around for a long time.
- chopenik, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1Phrase "Killer sound" comes to mind.
- SpamDog, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6and they turned their swords into plows...
and their guns into axes...- Flashman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Ha, very clever
- hybridjosto, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0Gibson made this special guitar for Jack Bauer (everyone knows keifefer Sutherland is a gibson collector), when he's wailing on the guitar he can also wail on those pesky terrorists.
- SickPigzJohnny, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1Mine.
- Jergens, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1Been done! Kane Roberts was a guitarist for Alice Cooper in the 80's. The guitar / gun was his gimick. Well..that and he was a huge bodybuilder. It was quite the ridiculous look, like most of the stuff from that era:
http://www.answers.com/topic/kane-roberts?cat=entertainment- imacashew, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Well, Rambo was all the rage back then...
- Ladon, on 10/11/2007, -5/+1Guitar Guns are old and boring. See= Once Upon a Time in Mexico for the last time they were EVER cool.

- mrgreenjeans9, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0i think learning hendrix's 'machine gun' would be mandatory before
picking up that axe - airquotes, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Im boycotting flicker, those on picture comments are just too ghey.
