gothamist.com — When a roving party of people dressed like pandas (Pandamonium) descended on the neighborhood, the police came out to stop the revelry.

- killcops, on 08/17/2008, -0/+1Despite what some allegations say, we (the pandas) were entirely peaceful, and tried to have a fun party, while simultaneously reclaiming public space and standing up for our ever-shrinking right to assemble (see NYC 'unpermitted march' laws, thanks Quinn.). The police over-reacted and brutally attacked a number of our ranks, causing the group to become decentralized and get completely out of control. This is not the first, nor the last time the NYPD has done this. Keep your eyes peeled for the next Pandamonium party!
