- bamapachyderm, on 10/20/2007, -0/+14***** you, you're one of the shout spammers. Take me off your friends list, because I won't be adding you to mine.
Oh, and you're blocked.

- ChronicColonic, on 10/26/2007, -1/+12Dested, you should shout spam this to everyone you know....this is freaking hilarious! I am going to spam this back to everyone I consider to be 'Shout spamming.'
- bamapachyderm, on 10/26/2007, -0/+13So am I. Like the douche above you (mposdeev) who just added me as a "friend," like all the other shout spammers..
- jcm267, on 11/06/2007, -0/+18How about only accepting shouts from friends, and taking shout spammers off your friends list if they appear?
- sbader, on 11/06/2007, -3/+18The thing that drives me nuts is that the shout spamming seems to be working.I've watched bad shout spammed stories slowly make the rise to the front page and it irks the hell out of me.
- jcm267, on 11/01/2007, -2/+11It's just an extension of the way all of the "top diggers" have operated. A few of them had been mutual friends in the past, and I noticed that they take the time to digg a submission of yours within minutes almost without fail. They spend all day trying to build up a network of friends so that their stories all make the front page.
I'm perfectly happy with just getting most of my entertainment and news on digg from my friends list.- appleann1, on 10/21/2007, -1/+9Since I've gained 70+ new "friends" my submissions are buried twice as fast. They are not doing you a favor, make it backfire, bury the hell out of THEM.
- polymath22, on 10/19/2007, -1/+1but how will you follow them? they are on your fans list, not your friends list...kinda like you are on mine. you could bite the bullet and befriend them back...
- appleann1, on 10/30/2007, -0/+6I know I'm on yours.

- vault, on 11/06/2007, -1/+5I usually just look at someone's comments to see if I should friend them...I notice a lot of my "fans" however are from the third world and have no comments, just crap submissions. I don't mind relevant, on-topic shouts from stuff I'd digg anyway, but I delete and unfriend anyone who shouts a crap story.
- NoamSayin, on 11/05/2007, -2/+4No more shouts to me, either.
Unless you know me.
And you don't know me. - macmug, on 11/06/2007, -2/+6If anyone wants to shout me, friend, foe,or indifferent, that's fine, What's the harm? Maybe I'll reply if I get a chance. Digg is not on my priority list, but I check it out occasionally. My first stop is always LGF, once in a while I'll comment there. Always glad to hear from those who are benevolent.
- ashok, on 11/06/2007, -0/+2I confess, I am shout spamming a bit - I have an article I really like, one article, and I'd like people to read it. So anyone who gets added as a friend gets that shouted at them.
I should make something very clear: you guys, unless you create content, don't realize how passive crowds on the Internet are. You can have a story everyone will like, and no one will look at it until it is literally put right in front of their face. Promotion is a necessity on the Internet: if you care for your content, you work to make sure its read.
That having been said, do some people take it too far? Yeah. Am I kinda guilty of this? Probably.

***** spammers man. ***** spammers. - jenmorrison, on 01/04/2008, -0/+2So true...I always get them from one person.
