- digg it
- cam0man, on 10/12/2007, -5/+26looks more like he just drove off the edge. what cop would try to jump between two garages??
- Teaboy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+127Main page is slow, http://peretfamily.netfirms.com/peretfamily.com/media/text/*****.html is working.
- Picard102, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Ya, the door wouldn't be pulled forward like that if he jumped the building. Looks like someone probably rammed the car off the edge after the office had exited.
- enderwig, on 10/12/2007, -2/+43http://duggmirror.com/offbeat_news/17_How_The_Hell_Images/
- heyiquit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2What I think happened is a little less exciting but it just happened to a security guy at the mall here in Providence. He probably just backed up without thinking and broke the little rail.
- Agret, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3Thanks for link enderwig
- Eliminator, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Honorable mention?
http://tollroadsnews.info/artman/publish/article_1185.shtml - pyrophire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Its sad that im going to admit this, but the picture of the cop.... thats in my city, El Paso, Tx, they claimed someone tried to escape in it, later the cop admited he thought he put the car on Park but had left it on Reverse and it rolled back after he walked away from it. Here is a pic of the side of the cop car that says the city http://media.kdbc.com/images/pd2.jpg
- BadassCheese, on 10/12/2007, -5/+94"Top 17" Just couldn't find that 18th crazy picture, huh?

That's just creepy. Now, imagine when she's old and can't find good work. Wal-Mart door greeter??? - jtizzle, on 10/12/2007, -8/+43there goes sockpoppets again, posting ***** that nobody really cares about.
- ahawks, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4sockwho?
Oh, he must be one of those annoying people I blocked. I advise everyone else to do the same. Makes the world (digg at least) a much more pleasant place. - famouslastwords, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1dont hate him because he masterbates to testosterone loving women. that just makes him gay. and a looser.
- sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -91/+13Here's one.
- gimlik, on 10/12/2007, -5/+22Is this NSFW?
- Laurentvw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+108All pics are SFW. No need to worry.
- wphj, on 10/12/2007, -31/+8It's fine.
- SierraAlpha, on 10/12/2007, -23/+3No, it's ok... nothing bad.
- NinjaBoy, on 10/12/2007, -20/+1No its safe
- ij00mini, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15All of these "How the Hell" images have to do with vehicles of some sort (Car, bus, plane, boat, etc.). Nothing more.
- mercurysquad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+27guys, once is enough....
- blueskydiver76, on 10/12/2007, -3/+73No...but really...is it SFW? I wasn't sure with only 4 people responding.
- naio21, on 10/12/2007, -49/+8But... will it blend?
- bobothn, on 10/12/2007, -29/+7well it all depends on your work. in one of the pictures there is a woman with out her face covered which might be a problem if you work in a Muslim mosk. but for the vast majority of people it is sfw
- asuraci, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16nalo21: It got old after the first 10 comments, you're on about the 500th.
- tralalaa, on 10/12/2007, -28/+6"Is this NSFW?"
...quit being a pussy and just click the ***** link.
Jesus Christ.. if you're that worried, stop ***** around at work. - amk29j, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15@bobothn
That's dumb. First of all, it's spelled mosque. Second of all, women's faces don't have to be covered. Third of all, it just doesn't matter. It's not like it's some one is stopping Muslim men from walking down the street just because women aren't wearing hijab. That's just dumb - nagumi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16also, who surfs the net from a mosque?
- Nat5an, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3@nagumi Well, I have, but I suppose your question was probably rhetorical.
- 5blocksfree, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1@naio21

- kiljoi, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8Haha, number 9 is from where I live. I remember the newspaper article about it a few years ago, I've got the picture from there up on my wall.

http://duggmirror.com/offbeat_news/17_How_The_Hell_Images/ - Deranged, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9@central:
Take one more step and find out where the link goes first. Click the link and you'll find out it goes to the right page, just less effort. - rnelsonee, on 10/12/2007, -7/+9The original poster doesn't need to link to the page. When you go to duggmirror.com, it looks at the page you're coming from (digg.com/topic/story_name), and if it's from a digg comment page (which takes that form), then it adds the '/topic/story_name' to the base url (duggmirror.com). So if you click the link the poster provided, it takes you right there.
- naio21, on 10/12/2007, -16/+11"Take one more step, and link the page please."
It redirects automatically, moron. - Ahnteis, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13actually, it doesn't redirect for some people. (Specifically those whose browser doesn't send a referer while browsing.)
- pdpdjh, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Not everyones browser passes the referrer, some dont by default, mine does but I guess this is why people dont get that the link should redirect automatically, why be so harsh?
- PDelahanty, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3If people have turned off referrers in their browsers, it serves 'em right.
- wolrah, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2@pdpdjh:
No, all browsers send the referrer by default. It's part of the spec. Some paranoid people disable them (for what reason I'm still not sure...whoopdee-*****-doo, Site X can know I clicked in from Site Y) and then problems happen. - gekkoeye, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Does anyone know if referrers can be activated in Safari (OS X)?
- ahawks, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2"Does anyone know if referrers can be activated in Safari (OS X)?"
Yes! Use Firefox. - pants428, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2safari has refferers activated by default...
- elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1My browser ( Maxthon ) doesn't send referrer when opening in a new tab.
- central183, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Thank you so much for calling me moron and insinuating how stupid I am. I feel like I'm in grade school again getting bullied by the rich kids.
I do have Safari, and every time someone posts "duggmirror.com" is does not automatically find the story It goes to a table of contents. I did not know about the referrer feature of dugg mirror. As far as I know, I have never shut off this feature. If you look to the top of the comments, someone else has posted the same exact link I did and got 41 diggs so far.
Why would it kill you to post the actual link instead of relying on referrers? Not everyone has the same system you do.
- central183, on 10/12/2007, -45/+8Take one more step, and link the page please.
- tuffy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2117 reasons to get off one's cel phone while driving anything. :)
- PaulusVictor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Image 16 is an NC State Wolfline bus. I remember when that happened.... Let us just say that Wolfline bus drivers aren't exactly the best drivers in the world.
- burkencsu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Haha, the Wolf Web will go nuts when they see that one. That's an NC State classic...
- Maagic, on 10/12/2007, -3/+23I don't see anything particularly inconcievable about any of those. Sure they're unusual, but common sense can pretty much figure out how they got in that predicament.
- simpleid, on 10/12/2007, -53/+8That's funny, my sister and I thought the same thing.
My sister being an 'emo myspace' girl, and then I noticed your being dugg down for saying that. Sometimes I question digg users, maybe only very few digg users actually have any sort of intuitive sense. Apparantly an 'emo myspace' girl is smarter than the people digging you down. That's kind of ironic, huh?
When you see boat like that, it means it got stuck in shallow water, obviously.
A bus on a hill potentially from a drunk driver or someone distracted. obviously.
etc. etc., 90% of these are going to be from some kind of distraction, alcohol, drugs, or someone else that was pissed off at one of these individuals.
Amazing. - KniteWulf, on 10/12/2007, -5/+23Simpleid, what does your sister have to do with this?
- orientis, on 10/12/2007, -5/+29@simpleid How do you deal with being smarter than everyone all the time? It must get tiring some times.
- bobothn, on 10/12/2007, -4/+38@simpleid
Is your sister hot though? - simpleid, on 10/12/2007, -53/+6That's very funny, I guess you guys feel pretty ***** cool. The point is everyone here makes fun of myspace, and the typical emo myspace girl thought all of this was easy to figure out.
Which the original commenter stated and was being dugg down for.
But I guess that went over your heads as well.
It -was- stupid to digg Maagic down, because he is right. - bobothn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+29@simpleid
You still didn't answer the question. Is your sister hot? - avolant, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12whats her myspace page?
emo girls put out - milk93rd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Everyone makes fun of myspace, because, well, have you been there?
Nobody here is making fun of your sister. Especially if she's hot. - dhulser, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3@simpleid
pics or it doesn't count..
ps) vids while you're at it?
- simpleid, on 10/12/2007, -53/+8That's funny, my sister and I thought the same thing.

Picture 13 looks like one of those awesome paintings that is done on the sidewalk, so that from a certain position it looks real :-)
and
Picture 7 - that lady is smiling! That's great! - NSMike, on 10/12/2007, -15/+6Here are my guesses:
#17 - Something caught on fire on the ship, firefighters tried to put it out and ended up filling it with water, causing it to list beyond the point of recovery.
#16 - Not really that astonishing. Probably trying to avoid something on the road, possibly a deer.
#15 - Sleepy bus driver.
#14 - Drunk or sleepy driver.
#13 - Mine subsidence. This (mine subsidence, that is) happens a lot in Western PA, where old coal mines pepper the area.
#12 - Probably a similar situation to 17.
#11 - Parking in a "No Parking" zone.
#10 - Okay, this is the first one that presented any kind of challenge to me. My only guess is that someone didn't put on the brakes and it rolled backward.
#9 - Put it in reverse and backed out of the parking garage.
#8 - Backed into it as it was going by.
#7 - Likely put it in drive instead of reverse.
#6 - Tide.
#5 - He drove off the cliff and was saved by his trailer getting stuck.
#4 - That's a good one. I don't know. The cop must've been driving around where he wasn't supposed to.
#3 - I'm not even sure what I'm looking at here. There must've been something on the track that caused it to jump up.
#2 - Someone in the switching tower wasn't paying attention.
#1 - Drove off a drop-off.- Flon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Actually number 12 is usually caused when loading/unloading the containers from the ships. If there not careful when doing this they can cause the ship to become to heavy on one side and tip over like in the picture.
- battybattybatt, on 10/12/2007, -2/+59 is from Blues Brothers 2000 (prepared stunt shot)
8 is from a Jacki Chan movie (prepared stunt - after shot) - Lezlee798, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Number 10 couldn't have rolled backward. the smashed gates are in front of the plane no behind it.
- NSMike, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@Lezlee -
Read your comment again and apply some simple logic this time. - Lezlee798, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@NSMike
I still don't get it
- localzuk, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4When I saw #7 the first thing that run through my head was 'nice parking!' followed by 'hope no-one moved the boat'!
- sarge, on 10/12/2007, -15/+4comment in wrong place... digg down please
- Ystig, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Spectacular metaphor for local police having national security walk all over them:
http://www.moronlandmedia.com/special/*****/*****.jpg
In the eternal battle between land and sea transport, there will always be winners and losers. But never did our friend the pickup truck expect his greatest defeat in this perpetual struggle to take place on the mountain highway where he felt most at home. And while the powerboat sat by and mocked...
http://www.moronlandmedia.com/special/*****/*****.jpg- sarge, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2That looks like an Air Force patrol car, not a local....
- Ystig, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6To state that obvious, that's why I called it a *metaphor* and not *an empirical description of the particular case in question*. You will notice that, similarly, in the latter of the two photos linked, the car and boat in question do not in fact appear to be *sentient beings*.
- computerdude33, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Can someone explain #6 to me? I don't see what's wrong.
- RatherDashing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18in my experience, boats should be in the water instead of on the land....just a guess though.
- NSMike, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4The very large ship has run aground.
- Mr.Chainsaw, on 10/12/2007, -1/+38Wait.... so boats should be in the water? Hold on let me write this down.
- markdr123, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Er, a huge tanker has run aground?
(Damn, when I posted this the 3 other replies weren't there.) - computerdude33, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6I didn't see the ground. >_< Damn eyes...
- mgrucker, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3Those are chops, I can tell by the pixels and I have seen a lot of chops
- battybattybatt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Perhaps you wouldn't have been dugg down if you would explain what a chop is.
- morrisp6, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Chops are Side burns, not sure what they are called in America.
- kdmaster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+313 looks like a botched italian job
- waza8501, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3looks proud of her parking skills http://www.moronlandmedia.com/special/*****/*****.jpg
- naio21, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1I rofled for how she was pride of her "work" at that picture. :-)
- TheWorm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5You "rofled"?
- HP844182, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1rofl my wofl
- doodlebumm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1She's probably just a tourist wanting to be in the picture showing the how some other dumb ass parked.
Think a bit before saying stupid things.
- Falldog, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1#13 is a deleted scene from Blues Brothers
- MrSunshine, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1#0: the lady that drove over a barrier with her car and nearly into the lake behind it. Can't find the picture anymore.
- tralalaa, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3I don't get how any of these are "How the hell" images as opposed to normal accident pics.
- punkrockxtian, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Because it's hard to figure out how the vehicle came to be in that position.
- ohhsnap, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Not really.
- RevoltPuppy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Yeah, all they did was drive or float or land somewhere they weren't supposed to. With the exception of the flipped boat, they're all pretty easy to figure out.
- Aharoni, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Here are some more pictures of the same case of #1 (pics by Dadi Erez):

- nagumi, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3wow... someone סגר שבת for that one.
- FoxtrotUSAF, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3#4 is the result of getting road head while driving on the flight line. We talk about that picture a lot in the air force.
- subscribtion, on 10/12/2007, -10/+4They were all caused by women drivers. You thought women in cars were bad, look what happens when they're in a tank or boat.

'also, who surfs the net from a mosque?'
The guys in the back that plan ***** like 'bigshot' talks about. They're called 'extremists' in pc circles...
Also, being a former rider of the Wolfline Bus System, I can attest to them not going over 35 in most places, but that intersection looks damn familiar to a corner I used to live near, and there's NO WAY the driver should've been going very fast at all. - funkytaco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wheres a pic of the dumb lady who drove into a swimming pool? Or the one of the truck that fell into the water being pulled out by a truck that also falls into the water so they get another truck?
- tw0bit, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1saying "how the hell" in your head as you seeing each one helps make it more funny : P
- estacado, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is another one:
http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2006/10/28/nation/15849450&sec=nation - graemee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3To sum up, the answer is "Bad Drivers"
- evilelf2407, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1that would SUCK to screw up when your the captain of one of the large tankers or cargo ships. no getting away with those mistakes.
- nbcivic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have to say this is pretty insane. Although some are very old, i've seen that stupid woman with the civic through the boat about 500 times.
- mxreb0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Picture number 2 is NCSU Wolfline http://www2.acs.ncsu.edu/trans/transportation/wolfline/
That picture looks like it's on Cent Campus near the power lines. No idea how it happened. - geniusNOTatWORK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1some of these pictures are pretty crazy.
The set does remind me of this classic video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DoWFfK5Ognw - Tomes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1#5 pic must be happy he got that boat.
- godd4242, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1link busted
- AugustWest333, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0Wow, for only my 2nd post this sure got digg'd a lot
- ringo380, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Kind of makes you doubt the "everything on digg is gamed" complaints.
- tomslatin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I'll tell you how it happened. It's all a matter of human stupidity.
- VioletArrows, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1These are mostly accidents that you can figure out. Now a 'How the Hell?!' image for me is a plane wedged in a subway tunnel, or a derailed train that can keep going up the street, or a car in a (very strong) tree, with no cliffs around to have fallen off of.
- neutrino15, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1number 1 is ghetto
- coachace, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Didn't #5 happen in a Simpsons episode?
- bioskope, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I almost thought those were the pics from the sets of Bad Boys 3
