      First off, they're 19, not 16, and second, banks always err on the side of caution, because they're federally insured, anyway, so as long as they cooperate with any demands, no matter how little threat, they're always in the clear. You'll also notice that the amount stolen is never disclosed publicly. Even if the teller wasn't in on it, the default response to such a note is to give the money and hit the alarm button. And tellers have boobie-trapped money as well that they draw from to give to the criminals. The only reason the girls weren't caught *more quickly* is because the teller was in on it.

      The official police description was "black male, 18-40, possibly wearing blue coveralls". Well, if you hadn't noticed, that's a tiny bit vague.
      Well, they wound up trying to arrest my friend at a Mexican restaurant the next day. They forcibly threw him to the ground, held him at gunpoint (despite no resistance being given), and interrogated him for several hours. He had a backpack with him, and without a warrant or his permission, they searched it for the stolen money. What came out? A massive pile of Pokemon cards. He'd just left the comic book store next door to get lunch.
      Further, the whole debacle involving five police cars and a helicopter didn't even make the evening news.
      What a great, fair society we live in, eh? And a note--he got a cash offer from the police to prevent him from suing, but (unfortunately) didn't press charges.

    It would be unfortunate to send these two misunderstood white girls to prison to teach them a lesson. Taking away their credit cards and 3-Series BMW would be punishment enough in their society. As they say, let the punishment fit the crime. I suppose if you feel some sort of "cruel and unusual" punishment is in order they could be made to wear only thrift-shop/second hand clothing for a year, but I think that is a little bit extreme for a first offense.

      Yes, but I should also clarify not JUST minorities and ugly people. The poor and handicapped (I mean that as two separate groups, someone in multiple groups certainly needs more than the baseline incarceration) should also be sentenced accordingly.

      Jews and Protestants are kind of a grey area. In those cases there are additional factors that should be considered.


      I think that covers it, except for old people. They can get a shorter sentence, because the net effect is the same.

Her parents are hardworking and mean well, but she just got in with the wrong crowd, started doing pot and meth, and just went downhill from there. She was really into tennis for a while, I played with her every week. She used to be one of the best looking girls at my school (really,) then lost a bunch of weight when she went on the meth makeover. She got caught up in drugs, stripping, abusive boyfriends, all the sort. Her parents meant well and it sickens me to see all the negative comments towards them. Her actions are of her own doing.

I'll set some of you guys straight on the story since i went to high school with one of the girls (heather) and knew her pretty damn well. 1st...the girls were 19. 2nd....they went worried about their identities b.c they both died their hair...duh! 3rd....i know for a fact heather wasnt ugly last time i left her, she was a drop dead gorgous red head. 4th cocaine will make everyone ugly. and little tid bits that you may like to know...the girls didnt tell anyone what they did, they did it spontaneously and even went out to a party later that night with the money on them (although no one knew at the time). Oh and it was a special occasion....it was heathers BIRTHDAY!! Heather, when your on your 30 min of computer time in jail and you see this...happy belated birthday. hope you had fun!!!
