(Star Wars float) - dominasian, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2whats with the chimney goose?
- Halodude1489, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2Florida still sucks.
- iashraf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Oranges and Lemons* - also, damnit when that fruit rots!
- swiftekho, on 10/12/2007, -9/+7Yeah... WTF, I would take the oranges and give them to the hungry. I mean, people say lets take the money we are using to protect ourselves and help them... I say lets take the oranges we are wasting and help them...
- str3ama, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5you can't compare oranges and lemons
- LaurenAnn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4@ swiftekho
You can't save the world's problems by throwing oranges at them.
But seriously. Giving poor people food + no education on how to help themselves = increased populations and increased mouths to feed. Therefore, just giving them food would make the problem worse. - dokbeast7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Maybe their servers were made of oranges...
- Tetranitrate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I didn't know oranges created internal server errors.
- Humptydank, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@laurenann:
It made me laugh that you put your second comment under the "But seriously" section...
I would like you to make that case not from the keyboard in your bedroom, which is probably not far from your full refrigerator, but instead standing with a bag of oranges in front of a family in, say, Darfur, whose child was near death from starvation. Education? Good. Reorganizing populations and food distribution systems? Good. New farming techniques and high-yield crops? Good. Off-the-cuff pronouncements about not giving a man a fish until he learns to fish? Bad, especially when that man is about to die from starvation. - DeCiX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why does the dog have an erection?
- shinynew, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1its going to be hell when they start to rot.
- oskite, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3[insert 1,2,etc,profit! joke about the current high cost of oranges]
- gerry87, on 10/12/2007, -1/+39I think lemons deserve at least some of the credit.
- pinab, on 10/12/2007, -12/+5What a waste of food. It could have been done with plastic balls.
- alex, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Yeah, like plastic or styrofoam would be any better. At least oranges will decompose as opposed to styrofoam which lasts a really really long time. The same with plastic. Plus, they are petroleum products which environmentally aren't very good either.
- rhustang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22orange you being a bit dramatic?
- elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If it was done with plastic, it would've been a waste of oil.
There's no BETTER way to do it; anyway, oranges smell good. - b3mus3d, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2if it was done with plastic balls it just wouldn't be as good somehow.
- TempusReborn, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Now Imagine if you were allergic to citrus....
- Recusant, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Where is the juice...?
- 3uster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+32there's nothing that says 'we don't have a food crisis' like a bunch of things made out of oranges
- Goodonebales, on 10/12/2007, -13/+5Yes, but.......Will it blend?!
- kapi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Yes it will.. Mmmm.. Orange Juice..
- Labradane, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Creative/Weird
- jammbrose, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9Wasteful
- anagoge, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Tasteful
- Unclebob1992, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Very interesting, I wonder how many orange vines it took to grow all those.
- qber, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11oranges grow on trees...
- thumperings, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7you idiot oranges grow underground like carrots not on vines dummy.
- Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Oranges are the devil's fruit. You must suffer grapefruit to be truly righteous.
- brY2o, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Interesting
- Supernova36, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You know when you've been Tango'd.
- RUFiO006, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I wouldn't wanna be there in a few weeks...
Perishable art FTW - tumoas, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0i thought orange was somekinf of monkey.. i was kinda lost there for a few minutes.
- AuAndCs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I want what you're smoking.
- Felshadow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Why :S
- evilspoons, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1When I saw the headline, I was hoping for some sort of rudimentary society formed by sentient citrus fruit, but the description said made "with" oranges so I was slightly disappointed.
- cielo23, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Actually, the best use of oranges has already been discovered....
http://www.stuffonmycat.com/media/2/20060202-SANDER.gif- marshall007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i thought you were going to refer to penicillin, but thats ok too
- BackwardsPanda, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I cant comprehend how big those are for some reason =/
- clockworkORANGE, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That's going to be nasty to clean up..
- shanerich, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Just goes to show you, when life gives you Oragnes, you make super-huge-non-sensicle-wasteful-sculptures with them.
- chippper, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Man, that's gonna STINK in about a week.
And I loves me some oranges. - MrM1yagi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0And they said that the frost killed all the oranges...
- MisterBozo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Some back story here: these are photos from the "fĂȘte du citron" (lemon celebration) that takes place in the city of Menton, France, every year - www.feteducitron.com
Some more photos here http://www.linternaute.com/sortir/sorties/festival/citron/diaporama/1.shtml - Ashurek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0What happened to the California cold snap that killed all the oranges this year?! At least they're finding a good use for the ones that survived....
- Avalontor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1you are right, but just so you know the US doesn't supply all the world with all the oranges like you believe.
- anomalya, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1wtf
- donsherio, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1So thats why oranges cost so much this time of year. People waste them on parade floats. I bet I could steal those oranges and sell them off and become rich XD
- Tripw0l, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I'm pretty sure that was made WITH oranges, not by oranges.
- isolino, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You took the words right out of my mouth.
- legopacific, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Better pics and with a black background. Why does everyone insist on the plain vanilla gray-white when almost every pic looks better on black?
http://freshpics.blogspot.com/2007/02/orange-sculptures.html - TheBaker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Those are some pretty juicy pictures.
- MainframeF4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It looks like a Tropicana protest.
- santa7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Is it me or does that wolf in the bed have a boner
- RetroEvolute, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why not eat them?
- dwhitbeck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Pictures made by oranges: Must be veggie tales.
- cheezdoodle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow! Too much time and WAY too much produce! They should follow up all of this with the "World's Largest Glass of Orange Juice." Seriously, though... this is incredible! Nice work!
- plamia, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Thanx a lot for the info. Rubbish.
