    • Schmich, on 07/03/2008, -0/+2I remember seeing a short documentary on this on the TV a while back. He got hit in the inside of the thigh and not the private parts fortunately for him. In swedish (maybe other languages too) you say "lycka i olyckan" which roughly translates to having luck within the bad luck.

      Another thing people don't know is that at the time the poles didn't have any top to cover the pole. So basically the cylinder was open and empty inside making the border easily penetrate the skin. It was due to this incident that they're now all covered.

      As a professional athlete, he'll be strong, fit, healthy, etc etc. He has brilliant genes. Being a pole-vaulter doesn't give him any sort of evolutionary disadvantage; quite the opposite.

      This is just what someone being jabbed in the balls looks like.

      This, of course, was before robots cleaned our houses.

This pole had been abused, dug into the ground 100's of times, mistreated with too much weight throw on it in short bursts, no one ever thinks of the pole's feelings, this video was a triumph for poles everywhere, he could have been a stripper pole but he was forced to carry questionably homosexual men over beams, he got his revenge, finally.
