Quinton Jackson to face Wanderlei Silva at UFC 92 in Dec.

sherdog.com — Quinton "Rampage" Jackson will meet Brazilian legend Wanderlei Silva for the third time, and Forrest Griffin will defend his light heavyweight crown against unbeaten Rashad Evans in two featured bouts at UFC 92 on Dec. 27 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

        and there are A LOT of mma fighters that would outstrike Kimbo hardcore. Fedor, Sylvia, Arlovski, Crocop, Overeem, Hunt, Schilt... the list goes on, and these are just heavyweights. if we were talking about light heavyweights, hell everyone in the top 15 would outstrike him.

        so far your only real argument is "yeah well if kimbo learned the other 75% of mma and got good at it, then hed be the best!"

        Did you see the fight against James Thompson? James Thompson is a jobber who is not a very good fighter. Just a Tomato can for Kimbo to beat up on. James Thompson almost won that fight and should have if it wasn't for bad officiating.

        Also he did lose a fight outside the ring to Sean Gannon. The ONLY reason he has not lost in the ring is because elite xc doesn't want him to. They keep feeding him easy fights while people who have stepped up and said they want to fight Kimbo are pushed away. If he was so great he should be taking all challengers.

        Kimbo is a joke, and will get exposed once he faces a real top 20 opponent.

      • Zlorp, on 10/03/2008, -0/+3the way Machida fights is dependent on his opponent. with better or more aggressive fighters he tends to push back harder, if they're lay and pray warriors (tito) he doesnt do as much (not that he wasnt impressive to watch against tito). just watch him v Rich Franklin or Bonnar, he demolished both guys in an aggressive fashion, he also dominated Soko.

        id like to see him against someone more aggressive, like shogun or wanderlei,

Couture would be a big fight money-wise but I honestly don't think it would be really competitive. I think the Couture-Lesnar-Nogueira-Mir tournament for the UFC title will have Nogueira coming out on top. He'd be best heavyweight if it wasn't for Fedor. but he's someone Fedor has defeated twice. I love the UFC production and would love to see Fedor fight in a cage, but I rather not see Fedor sell himself short to the likes of Dana White.
      • molamann, on 10/03/2008, -0/+2Uhh, Fedor has already beaten Nog, Timmy, Barnett, CroCop, and countless other fighters. Not to mention he is technically undefeated in almost 30 fights, one loss being an accidental cut.

        Only reason he hasn't signed with the UFC is contract disputes with UFC(Dana White.) Dana has a long history of contract/personal disputes with fighters, such as Barnett, Arvlovski, Lindland, Tito, etc.

  • angelslay, on 10/03/2008, -0/+1I really like both fighters, but it doesn't make much sense for them to be fighting a third time at this time since Silva has beaten Rampage twice already. It would make sense for the fight to happen if Rampage still had the title, or if Silva was the champion and Rampage was the number one contender. Not to say that Rampage isn't capable of beating Silva, but the timing isn't right. A Rampage-Shogun rematch should be happening instead.

I really don't see him winning this one, especially in light of all the craziness with him recently. Who knows where his head is. Eh - I'm just looking forward to UFC 91 so I can see Amir Sadollah's first UFC fight.

However, after seeing Silva absolutely destory Jardine (a man who destroyed the man who just beat Rampage), I think Rampage is going to be 0-3 against the axe murderer.
