When Parents Attack in Youth Sports: Fists of Love and Fury
ballitics.com — Think rabid soccer moms and blood thirsty baseball dads. When their children were cheap shotted or wrong called, these parents went for the throats of other youth players, coaches, and parents. If these parents attack, you don't want to be around.

- emilyerin, on 06/17/2008, -0/+2HAHA this is HILARIOUS!!! This is so true...especially in small towns, like the one I grew up in nestled in the hills of Southwest Virginia...they have nothing else to worry about so they OBSESS over their kids sports!
- oldgal, on 06/18/2008, -0/+3Glad I grew up when I did. The kids in the neighborhood got together at the vacant lot, divvied up equipment, chose up sides and went at it. If a girl could throw, catch, and hit, she was in. Everybody learned to be nice to the fat kid cuz he was generally the one with the most equipment. No adults involved. Most disagreements were resolved without violence - cuz that stuff hurts. If you were a real pain you just didn't get picked for a team - generally modified bad behavior. We learned a lot more about sportsmansip and had a lot more fun than the kids today.
- shutaro, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1They need to add a ring for the angry parents to fight it out... Make it part of the attraction. You can watch the game, or you can watch the parents. Maybe sell tickets to watch the parent fights... Could be a source of revenue for the youth leagues. No more selling candy door to door.
