  • mizike, on 05/05/2008, -1/+62a basic cable tv package in Korea includes not one, but two channels devoted 24/7 to starcraft tournaments (well, not entirely 24/7 as very rarely it would have some other game -- generally a korean FPS -- but at least 95% of the time was starcraft)....I'm almost certain that clip was taken from one of those two channels....too bad it didn't switch to a shot of the crowd for a second, you'd be shocked at how many people are in the audience watching two dudes sit on a stage playing PC's....

I'm currently in Seoul on exchange without a TV, so I go over to my gf's house to watch starcraft. The last time i was over there watching, it was 5v5 girls playing counter-strike 1.6. I've never been so turned on. *tells gf to start playing cs* Warning though, gamer girls generally aren't pretty.

      Plus, it makes a great spectator sport and the Koreans value what is hard to do.

  • Rodalli, on 05/05/2008, -1/+3Everytime I hear a crowd of people going crazy over any kind of event I can't help but draw a parallel with apes/monkeys. Not bitching or saying Koreans are monkeys (lol), of course, just pointing out the added level of humor it lends the video. :D

    I do wish I lived in a culture that embraced my hobbies on this kind of level.
