- BeyondEvolution, on 07/11/2008, -1/+6Your puny 20 APM has nothing on his 600+ APM.
- Trichomonas, on 07/11/2008, -2/+9I hope you're joking. That is Boxer...the father of professional SC in Korea. He's been playing professional SC for almost 7 years, has a book written about it, was the first pro-gamer to get a million Korean Won salary (~100K+ USD at the time; now a lot of pro-gamers make a lot more than that) and he's in the Korean Air Force.
- NailToTheX, on 07/11/2008, -0/+3although boxer is far from the top anymore with the air force commitement, hes still very good. that game was awesome with the ghost lockdown.
i have no doubt that he would mop the floor with any non-korean. - BeyondEvolution, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2100k? Maybe when he first started in the leagues. He had a stable salary of around 250-300k.. not including his 100k endoresments on top of that. Boxer was balling for ages.
- Robert0, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2I don't think he would mop ANY non-Korean. There are some excellent non-Korean players out there and a few who might just be going Pro soon. There were actually a few replays posted on a website that were supposedly Boxer playing a non-Korean and LOSING. That's also during their time on Battle.net which for a lot of the Pros is mess around time.
- Trichomonas, on 07/11/2008, -0/+5He only gets ~2 hours a week to practice vs. the rest of the pro-gamers who practice 9-14 hours a day and usually live in one house to do so. He's also getting old for SC and is leaving ROKAF (the Korean Air Force team) this coming season. Watch some of his earlier games though.
For example, Boxer vs. Reach: http://youtube.com/view_play_list?p=8A807F933A9CB4 ...
Or his "pimpest play" vids: http://youtube.com/view_play_list?p=60557D0C86F773 ...
CholeraSC is a great commentator and you'll enjoy listening to the games he casts. - crossmr, on 07/11/2008, -0/+11,000,000 Korean won is only $1000 US. I think you mean 1 billion.
- NailToTheX, on 07/11/2008, -0/+3although boxer is far from the top anymore with the air force commitement, hes still very good. that game was awesome with the ghost lockdown.
- SnowflakePillow, on 07/11/2008, -1/+3This would be you: http://www.teamliquid.net/staff/Chill/SeaVsMondrag ...
Actually you would fare much worse, because that was the best non-Korean Starcraft player in the world getting slaughtered by a Korean who's far from the best Terran (though Sea is better than Boxer today).
- LtDanP, on 07/10/2008, -4/+72Damn! why did my parents have to immigrate here before i was born, i could have been doing what i do now but getting paid for it

- Andrew33, on 07/10/2008, -0/+18it takes sheer determination, leet skillz and very little to no social life in order to get to where boxer is currently at
- BeyondEvolution, on 07/11/2008, -3/+3What, to get into the Korean Air Force?...
- ImNotFunny, on 07/11/2008, -2/+2boxer doesn't win anymore.. but then again he can't practice 10-12 hours a day like most SC professionals
- dabura, on 07/11/2008, -3/+1You're a disgrace! We're partying over here bro!
- exomni, on 07/11/2008, -1/+11Professional StarCraft players live together in small houses filled with computers and floppy disks of replays, spending each and every hour training and training. The minute Boxer joined the airforce and started spending even a few of his waking hours not playing StarCraft, he immediately plummeted out of practice. StarCraft players are the most dedicated and determined professional athletes in the world.
- vladsmiljanic, on 07/11/2008, -4/+12I don't think there is anything athletic about it.
- wellyuk, on 07/11/2008, -3/+3athletes?

- Import98, on 07/11/2008, -2/+3I have to jump on the bandwagon. Sounded good until "StarCraft players are the most dedicated and determined professional athletes in the world.". Like vlads said, there is nothing "athletic" about SC.
- Brad324, on 07/11/2008, -3/+9I consider myself to be an athlete of late night internet porn.

CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK - exomni, on 07/11/2008, -1/+7Athlete:
a person trained to compete in sports
wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn
A sportsperson (British and American English) or athlete (principally American English) is any person who participates regularly in a sport.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athlete (sports)
Sport:
A sport is an activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sport
Chess today is a recognized sport of the International Olympic Committee.
As are considered rifle shooting and marksmanship. - exomni, on 07/11/2008, -0/+8The word "sport" comes from the Anglo-French "disport", from Old French "desport": "pastime, recreation, pleasure," from "desporter": "to divert, amuse, please, play".
The word "athlete" comes from the Latin "athleta", from Greek "athletes" "contestant in the games," agent noun from athlein "to contest for a prize," related to athlos "a contest" and athlon "a prize." - winampman2, on 07/11/2008, -1/+3And therefore, by definition, Boxer can be considered an athlete who competes in SC, which can be considered a sport.
- Ryvenn, on 07/11/2008, -0/+1"contestant in the games,"
A prize for an attained performance is not what defines an athlete. Assassins are not classified as athletes.
Having said that, neither are soldiers. The feat itself does not have to be physical.

- saunders45, on 07/10/2008, -10/+2No wonder there's so much anime porn... these losers and getting any.
- Robert0, on 07/11/2008, -1/+4If you listen to any of the VODs on Youtube you would realize the crowd is 90% girls and they are all there to support their hero. The way those Pro games work is almost the entire crowd empties out between matches and the place refills for the next one. They just go to support the specific players they like. Combine those two facts together and they are getting more than most of the people posting here. :P
- exomni, on 07/11/2008, -1/+3"these losers and getting any"? That doesn't even make any sense.
Anyways, obviously you haven't seen a professional starcraft game: all the fans are wild and extremely attractive Korean girls fawning and fainting over the slightest move and waving signs and pictures of their favorite players.
There are more girls at a professional Starcraft tournament than at the Super Bowl. And unlike the Super Bowl, everyone there is attractive.
Boxer makes more money than you, and he's from South Korea. You fail. Plus he has legions of StarCraft groupies rabidly willing to give it up for The Emperor. Once again you fail.

- exomni, on 07/11/2008, -0/+5This was a fairly recent and big win over Free. Boxer did a dance. Someone who is a StarCraft fan decided it was reminiscent of Soulja Boy.
- ilovepoop, on 07/11/2008, -2/+4is he giving the finger ???
- Badewell, on 07/11/2008, -0/+5I think that an extended middle finger isn't an insult in Korea, so it isn't that big a deal.
- sexualwasabi, on 07/12/2008, -0/+1He was aiming at his opponent

Boxer brilliantly lockdowns Free's arbiter and just fights him blow for blow, successfully defending against a Reaver drop and just outplaying Free in a standard no-twists game.
