      And its not just spore, the new command and conquer and Crysis Warhead also uses this anti-consumer DRM

        yes some people might find it annoying, i haven't had any trouble with it. and the vague concept of the game having DRM hasn't made it any less enjoyable.

        you might be happy to have your rights trampled over but i disagree.

        if i purchase a bit of software i would like to be able to play it in 10 years time if i feel like it, or if i think the title is below par i would like to trade it in.

        the DRM on Spore and other titles makes the second hand value of this game £$0

      As a pro photographer, I'm seriously doubting that statement from the lens characteristics alone.
      If the lens is small, like on a camera phone, then that flare in the background would destroy the contrast in that photo.

Even at macro ranges, because the sensors are so small, there wouldn't be as much blur as there is in the picture. It could very well be a point and shoot, though - but it isn't a camera phone.

        The photo on that website has an even tighter crop than the one shown in this article.

        EDIT: I'm amazed. Look at the "eyes" of the dragonfly. You can clearly make out the reflection of the phone. Whatever phone it is, it has a larger sensor than my piece of crap free Nokia.

        I think you mean too much depth of field.
        A lot of depth of field = everything in focus.
        Less/shallower depth of field = selective 'ranges' in focus.

    • chroko, on 09/20/2008, -3/+3No they aren't more advanced. You have different brands - and probably a different consumer focus. Arguably the most advanced cellphone in the world is American (the iPhone) - most of the rest are Japanese / Asian brands anyway ('cept Nokia).

      But you can't talk "advanced" in a country that has no concept of local calls - and charges an additional fee for calling a cellphone from a landline! eg: $0.13 per minute. This is crazy!

      Unlike the US, where all local area calls (ie: within your state) are free - even to a cell phone number.

        As far as the iphone being the most advanced phone in the world.. Are you serious? The N95 alone smokes the iphone out of the water. Granted I have an iphone, but there are phones that can heavily out-perform it. Hence the successful launch of the iphone 3G in japan. =/

        As paulishuku pointed out, the N95 far outclasses the iPhone spec wise, sure it's not as big and shiny but it's far more powerful.

        If I understand this correctly, in the USA, mobile phone users pay to receive calls, which is quite honestly a concept I find really bizarre.

Well, the k800i has customizable Camera Drivers that allow you to manually control the focus before taking the picture. Also, the default Macro mode is damn impressive so best believe it. I definitely can believe the resolution and the focus. I have taken great pictures with that phone and for those who don't believe me, check out the Flickr images:
