Digg's Kevin Rose Digs Pinback, Knife, More

blog.wired.com — Los Angeles radio staple KCRW has lately handed over its studio to a variety of all-stars from entertainment and culture for the Guest DJ Project. On Wednesday, it was Digg's turn to mix it up: Kevin Rose teamed up with DJ Raul Campos to spin five tunes that make life easier while programming a social networking phenomenon.

  • l800LEMMINGS, on 07/17/2008, -2/+11i always wondered why geeks especially coders listened to what i would normally consider boring music but it makes sense that its more about relaxation, concentration, and being productive then the music itself. I personally listen to harder music but i do find i listen to softer stuff when i'm trying to be productive.

    • lynx44, on 07/18/2008, -1/+2I'm a coder but I definitely don't listen to mellow stuff all day. I mean, it isn't death metal, but its much much harder than this stuff. I don't know if I'm the odd man out or if this what you wrote just a skewed perspective of the average coder.

    • JoeCool51, on 07/18/2008, -0/+1Boring is a poor word to describe the music. I've always noticed I like to turn on "inspiration music" when I'm designing ***** for websites. Don't get me wrong, I love rock music. But when making graphics or not being able to get some flash coding to work the way I want it to, ambient music helps counter out frustration.

      Also a big fan of Pinback and Iron & Wine.
