Digg's Kevin Rose Digs Pinback, Knife, More
blog.wired.com — Los Angeles radio staple KCRW has lately handed over its studio to a variety of all-stars from entertainment and culture for the Guest DJ Project. On Wednesday, it was Digg's turn to mix it up: Kevin Rose teamed up with DJ Raul Campos to spin five tunes that make life easier while programming a social networking phenomenon.

- acmaurer, on 07/17/2008, -3/+40Oh geez. This has FP written all over it. Nice one, Surferess!
- pukiman, on 07/18/2008, -3/+2What "FP" stands for? "Fail Parade"?
- drawkward84, on 07/18/2008, -1/+2Face palm?
Fap parade? - Jorry7, on 07/18/2008, -0/+6Front page guys....... front page.
- tykwondingo, on 07/17/2008, -4/+23yeah, kiss that ass...
I will not submit. - sfrench, on 07/17/2008, -0/+17Also..the actual link to the program.
http://www.kcrw.com/music/programs/gd/gd080716kevi ... - l800LEMMINGS, on 07/17/2008, -2/+11i always wondered why geeks especially coders listened to what i would normally consider boring music but it makes sense that its more about relaxation, concentration, and being productive then the music itself. I personally listen to harder music but i do find i listen to softer stuff when i'm trying to be productive.
- sfury, on 07/18/2008, -1/+6yeah that's the only time I listen to Coldplay
- tykwondingo, on 07/18/2008, -2/+15"You know how I know you're gay?"
- ngmcs8203, on 07/18/2008, -1/+4I wouldn't consider Pinback boring IMO, but Sigur Ros is one of my favorite artists to listen to when I want to focus and I can see how people could consider them boring.
- lynx44, on 07/18/2008, -1/+2I'm a coder but I definitely don't listen to mellow stuff all day. I mean, it isn't death metal, but its much much harder than this stuff. I don't know if I'm the odd man out or if this what you wrote just a skewed perspective of the average coder.
- jferraro, on 07/18/2008, -1/+1Yeah I usually listen to hardcore stuff when I code. The noise drowns out everything else.
- JoeCool51, on 07/18/2008, -0/+1Boring is a poor word to describe the music. I've always noticed I like to turn on "inspiration music" when I'm designing ***** for websites. Don't get me wrong, I love rock music. But when making graphics or not being able to get some flash coding to work the way I want it to, ambient music helps counter out frustration.
- mlirblur, on 07/18/2008, -0/+2How can you consider Pinback boring?
- sfury, on 07/18/2008, -1/+6yeah that's the only time I listen to Coldplay
- lucy22, on 07/18/2008, -0/+11Hey the digg team gets down.
- teethandeyes, on 07/18/2008, -9/+8Music to me is very mood driven.
Depending on what I am doing, I listen to a vast array of Sounds.
I usually end up posting nice, tasty DRM-free full album downloads of what I am listening to for the day right here--> http://beatsandblood.blogspot.com/
Enjoy! - thegreenspanput, on 07/18/2008, -17/+7Kevin Rose belongs in prison for violation of free speech rights.

- mudpuddle, on 07/18/2008, -0/+4I hope one day you have thousands of people keeping tabs on every thing you do in life, taking every opportunity to judge you on things such as the band you currently like or the donut you chose with your morning coffee.
- lordtyros, on 07/18/2008, -1/+3That'd be badass. If I were on the Truman show, I'd smile and jack off all day.

- metaphysical, on 07/18/2008, -1/+4Who's ever overrated Pinback or The Knife?
- danomagnum, on 07/18/2008, -2/+7Who's ever rated them?
- championchap, on 07/18/2008, -1/+4I've rated them.
The Knife are an incredible band, Karens voice is simply something else!
Royksopp once got hold of her to sing a song for them, it was called "What else is there"
So there, thats the 3 of us, me, kevin rose and royksopp.
The knife are awesome.
- metaphysical, on 07/18/2008, -1/+4Who's ever overrated Pinback or The Knife?
- cupcupcup, on 07/18/2008, -6/+9Kevin Rose cannot program. Buried as inaccurate!
- EmperorAwesome, on 07/18/2008, -1/+1Well, considering his background, its safe to assume he knows at least a little something.

In case anyone was curious. Wonderful song, but mellow? Hardly. - chaos7, on 07/18/2008, -2/+1i wouldn't listen to any of that stuff
- LiberalKid, on 07/18/2008, -6/+1Dugg for 4/5 of the bands being good, MGMT is the oddman out....
- StrangeFamous, on 07/18/2008, -0/+3I like MGMT... although I would say that they have a sound better suited for the studio. I saw them play at an Of Montreal show in Philly and the subtleties got a bit lost in the noise.
Also a big fan of Pinback and Iron & Wine.
