The marketing comes in as, just like you have done is post a reply, of the thousands of people that see this digg, follow it to the post, they count on the people that want to be "first" and post something or flame something, they click reply and it says oh you have to register, they register and then oh, we are sorry this thread is locked. It's not horrible marketing, its smart marketing. Smarter than your average bear marketing, that focuses on a certain demographic. They do not care who comes to Gamestop they only care about who signs up and answers all of the "marketing" questions. These demographic questions are then very valuable to a marketing company or department.
