pixcetera.com — Capt. Ivan Castro, who lost his eyesight from a combat injury in Iraq, is the only blind officer in U.S. Special Forces. In September 2006, Castro came under mortar fire in Youssifiyah, Iraq,. Shrapnel ripped through his body, breaking his arm and shoulder and causing severe injury to the right side of his face. He now wears a prosthetic right eye.
