I don't understand how people can stand to watch squares changing colors.

Use our differences to our advantage. Any stratagist, engineer, architect, artist, musician... heck anyone can tell you that two heads are better than one...because these two heads are DIFFERENT. The problem is when the difference scares us... and THAT... that is why this video is so cool... because it removes that fear. We are not all the same... but we are not all that different either.

Instead, he has ignored other nations, involved us in wars that were more personal than Presidential, and taken a wide array of actions to specifically undermine the most sacred ideas on which this country was founded.

          So I don't have to speculated on how George Bush would react, he's given me eight years of evidence that his cynicism and greed would crush any optimism I might be able to muster.

          In person he's really affable, and when he's in a small group he's really easy to chat with.

You are accompanied by an approved North Korean guide the entire time though and there are many restrictions on when you can go, how long you can stay, and where you visit. From what I've heard, it really isn't that interesting and the only reason to actually go is just to say you went.

They had a government minder with them all the time, they could film, but when one cameraman was filming a giant statue of Kim, the guards told him "no".

        @atericks....Dang, If ever I have the opportunity to go to N. Korea, I would take it! Too many Americans think we live in an opressive regime here, and everyone should get the chance to see what a REAL repressive regime looks like.

    • grantino9, on 06/23/2008, -0/+6You can visit the JSA, including those blue conference rooms which actually straddle the Military Demarcation Line, by contacting the USO in Seoul. Matt must be pretty big, because when I went those ROK soldiers were HUGE.

The USO advises visitors to make no threatening motions or any gestures while at the truce village, as it could be allegedly used by North Korea for propaganda. Since the area is still technically a war zone, visitors are warned that they could die.

      I wonder how the North Koreans would have used this for propaganda...

One of the speakers talked about Korea visits for Korean adoption families. One bit she mentioned about these visits was visiting the DMZ, so I surmised that it's not too difficult for tourists to do.

It's generally used for meetings by both sides. On that table in the room, there are microphones to record the discussions, and they are actually on the table on the border (table length is equal on both sides of the border, etc.).

      I feel more safe walking down the street of Paris, or Bacelona, or Brussels, or Munich, or Stockholm than NYC, Detroit, LA, or St. Louis.
