      I think the monkey ("ape") was just getting a kick out of making all the weird humans cackle. They are known to do those things, not for any evolutionary or biological reason, just for fun.

      1) Some apes are freakin' nuts. Humans do some pretty weird things too. Orangutan minds are capable of just as freaky stuff as Humans, so to know why they do crazy stuff, you have to know why we do it.

      2) They're in something similar to Prison. Sure, they're treated better than the average prisoner, but they're still confined to a rather small area. Imprisonment can make humans go crazy, why not Apes. Furthermore, they're being gawked at all the time, which further humiliates them, driving them to insanity.

      3) Because they've grown up in captivity, probably from parents that grew up in captivity for at least a few generations, they do not benefit from the usual Orangutan culture that keeps craziness in line (Read 'Lord of the Flies' or 'Heart of Darkness'). If you locked humans away from other humans for a few generations, they would probably not get along too well with other people who had interacted with each other. I suppose such Isolation (usually geographical) is the origin of cultural differences.

        Urine is only sterile if you are absolutely healthy (ie. no mild asymptomatic bladder infections), and the urine doesn't acquire something on the way through your urethra, which usually it does. Mid-stream is better because it washes out the stuff at the beginning, but even then it can have it from the exterior of the body.

        On top of that urine is not antiseptic, but rather a wonderful breeding ground for bacteria, so as soon as it comes out, it begins breeding harmful stuff. Bottom line is that you shouldn't drink it and it's not healthy to do so.
