- Reziarfg, on 07/02/2008, -1/+5I think Warwick is a pretty cool guy. eh rescues bears and doesnt afraid of anything.
- Homerr, on 06/30/2008, -7/+39Oh, it was tranquilized.
- MasterPain, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2You have the balls to run in the ocean & swim a almost 400 pound bear to shore. This guy is the ***** it does not matter if the bear was tranqed, he could swim his self otherwise.
- DangerCollie, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2Even tranq'ed that was huge. Try moving 375 pounds of anything in the ocean. Double tough. Way to go wildlife guy.
- AntithesisVI, on 07/02/2008, -1/+0Many times, animals in distress won't allow you to help; they'll fight you unless they're too hurt or too tired. A drowning bear trusting someone to pull it out would've been a big deal in terms of animal behavior.
- ironeus, on 08/01/2008, -1/+4crazy rescue!
- Ty1erDurd3n, on 07/02/2008, -2/+0The police interviewed the guy afterwards

- ninzoris, on 07/01/2008, -0/+103That man is set for life. Anybody ever gives him grief, he can just say "I pulled a frickin bear out of the ocean, ok"

- lfroker, on 07/02/2008, -1/+1Move over chuck norris
- dtele, on 07/01/2008, -11/+8The article doesnt give much information.

- acliffhang3r, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2Yeah well nice try bear, acting all cute and innocent. Thought jumping into the ocean would prevent the truth from being forced out eh?
Water-board that bear! - tator13, on 07/15/2008, -0/+0Uh, no, the Bush clan is the biggest threat to America.
- webkami, on 07/01/2008, -7/+10you mean Pedobear?
- malcolmboston, on 07/01/2008, -3/+36i thought this guy was the bravest guy ever, until i realised the bear was sedated.
Good job though!- megamod, on 07/02/2008, -1/+1Trying to rescue something that is drowning (even a person) while they are in survival mode (must GTFO of here mode) is very dangerous. There was a guy that was drowning because he didn't know how to swim and his wife went in to try and help him. He is flapping around so wildly that he held her down underwater while trying to get out. It was only when he was out of the water and back to his senses that he realized what he had done...he drowned his wife.
Now imagine what a fully conscious bear would do. Even tranquilized, you try carrying a 375lb of dead weight in the water and YOU try to stay afloat.

- daimposter, on 07/01/2008, -12/+14saving a sedated bear from drowning is like someone fighting off a lion but leaving out the fact it was a young cub.
- Pyroteq, on 07/02/2008, -1/+16Except the fact that a bear is ***** huge and it would be pretty hard to swim back to shore whilst carrying a damn bear.
- daimposter, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1i'm not saying you don't have to be strong to carry the bear back to shore....but a title like 'man rescues 375 lb bear from drowning' would lead you to believe he risked his life saving a bear that would attack him.
he's still a hero but he's not as courages as the title lead some to believe.

- drunkmonkey01, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1im not sure how easy it is to fight a young cub... i imagine that a half-developed lion would still be able to rip my throat out. obviously a tiny baby lion is different. either way none of those equate to a ***** 375 pound bear.
- RunLevelZero, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1Your a dumb ass.
- s0nicfreak, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1You do know that there's a possibility the bear might have woken up right? Sedated or not, imo it still took a lot of balls to do this.
- Pyroteq, on 07/02/2008, -1/+16Except the fact that a bear is ***** huge and it would be pretty hard to swim back to shore whilst carrying a damn bear.
- diggit08, on 07/01/2008, -4/+32Good thing it wasn't a ManBearPig

- ChuyMX, on 07/02/2008, -8/+1im gonna get a tranquilizer gun, shoot a kitten, stage a rescue, be on the news, and wait for the offers from chicks to get laid.
- woody313, on 07/02/2008, -0/+4Only problem is chicks don't wanna do a 12 year old.
- cwmather, on 07/02/2008, -1/+2Well played, sir. Well played...
- woody313, on 07/02/2008, -0/+4Only problem is chicks don't wanna do a 12 year old.
- x00x, on 07/02/2008, -1/+40I guess he couldn't bear to see it drown.
- hogar983, on 07/02/2008, -0/+14So he rescued him with his bear hands.

Too much wild turkey for me tonight. - hollywoodphony, on 07/02/2008, -1/+3Where's the video? The link won't work.
- ganjaguru, on 07/02/2008, -1/+15In sharp contrast, we have http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOpKFPEah3E
- drunkmonkey01, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1classic
- fas2, on 07/02/2008, -2/+3Title got me there. The video consists only narrated pictures :(
- drunkmonkey01, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1well it was a spur of the moment thing. it would actually be a bit strange if someone had been there filming the whole thing, would have made it look staged. the title is somewhat misleading tho...
- CrimsonBlur, on 07/02/2008, -0/+4Stephen Colbert does not approve.
- superflydugg, on 07/02/2008, -0/+5the bear wasn't completely knocked out until after the guy went in, plus he got cut up. we love our biologist down here in FL. Scientist 1, Death 0.

He is Adam Warwick!! *Cue cheesy action theme* - AoiTakuma, on 07/02/2008, -0/+4I am living right near Apalachicola for the summer, and working for Florida Fish and Wildlife. This is relevant to my interests.

- magicalhobo, on 07/02/2008, -0/+6Yes it is.

- Pahtcub, on 07/04/2008, -0/+1I didn't come here to tell you how this was going to end, I came here to tell you how it's going to begin....welcome to the real world, tons of ***** is going on all around you that you either ignore or are blind to because of mainstream society, again here's the real world, welcome.
- Solid07, on 07/02/2008, -1/+0and now he's captured for tourists to see... what an inspiration.
- drunkmonkey01, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2Osceola National Forest != a cage in the zoo
- RunLevelZero, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1Seriously. Did you even think about what the hell you typed? The alternative was drowning to death because humans sedated him and scared the hell out of him. Granted he was in a neighborhood but uh, we are invading their territory and not living with them. Where I am from bears are coming from the north and they haven't been here in decades but they can't survive where they were because we tear down their forests etc and take away their food supply. drunkmonkey01 is also right. He is not some caged animal.
- m0neybags, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1I'd like to buy that man a bear!
- Duositex, on 07/02/2008, -1/+4It looks like this is how Chuck Norris teaches his kids how to swim.
- nutzngum, on 07/02/2008, -1/+1so i had this joke about two bears in a lake...but i couldn't come up with a good punchline.
- dtele, on 07/02/2008, -1/+1Well, I guess this proves that it pays to dupe submissions eh Kevin ?
- azAZ09, on 07/02/2008, -0/+6Even with the bear tranq'ed, this has to be worth at least 200 "badass-points".
Sitting around the bar.
"What did you guys do this weekend?"
"Mowed the lawn, did some yardwork."
"I played video games, Finished GTA4"
"Updated my blog, posted on digg"
"What about Adam?"
"Oh, he jumped into the gulf of Mexico to save a bear from drowning"
Who says gen-x isn't cool anymore? - alperea, on 07/02/2008, -1/+3I think the bear was trying to shape-shift into aquatic form, but the dart drained all of his mana.
