The World's First Bionic Sea Creature: Winter the Dolphin
dailymail.co.uk — As she glides through the water, Winter the dolphin appears to be completely normal. But she is the world's first bionic sea creature after being fitted with an artificial tail. Only closer inspection reveals the dolphin's rear end is entirely prosthetic. Winter the Dolphin, lost her own tail after being caught in a harsh crab trap.

- kernelRiot, on 05/05/2008, -5/+4What an enormous waste of money and resources... But I guess it's silly to think of the 24,000 people who die a day of hunger when a dolphin might not swim well, right?
This is exactly why our economy isn't sustainable, because we blow so much money on such asinine things.- MacParrot, on 05/05/2008, -1/+1Well MAYBE if some of those 24,000 people would flap around pathetically in the water due to getting caught in a harsh crab trap THEY could have bionic tails too. Man, you can lead 24,000 people a day to water but you can't make them swim.
