oh wait - Xspire, on 07/21/2008, -0/+10Here's a strategy to help you kill everyone.
1. Pick the Parasite.
2. When you first start the game, sell your only symptom, this will make you practically invisible to the world.
3. Buy waterborne transmission.
4. I let it sit for about 10 or so minutes then came back, and bought resistances to cold, heat, and moisture, up to at least 2 on each.
5. Pray that they don't find you. If you wait long enough then you can infect every country.
6. As soon as you have infected every country, start buying deadly symptoms but try to avoid any that will boost your visibility. I usually pick pulmonary edema and hypersensitivity. Heart Failure is another good one though it is a bit more pricey.
7. Try to leave some space available for more symptoms, more resistances, and more transmissions for when they start working on a vaccine. This can throw off the vaccine and make it ineffective.
8. Once the vaccine is deployed, if it didn't work, or if it isn't deployed in time and you have already infected everyone, then you can buy all the deadliest symptoms even if they boost your visibility as no one can be cured of your disease.
Good Luck!- Xspire, on 07/21/2008, -0/+7Sorry I have to make one correction to this. On number 4, I forgot to mention to buy drug resistance.
Sorry about that. - LSP55, on 07/21/2008, -0/+2Yeah, I pretty much figured it out but by the end I can't help myself and I go for necrosis if it is available (sometimes the symptoms change)

- Lythium, on 07/21/2008, -1/+12If you start out with a benign, low-visibility yet highly infectious disease, Japan is one of the easiest places to take out - the game is fairly realistic in that. But Greenland is tough, yes, as is Madagascar, as mentioned above.
- squidandwhale, on 07/21/2008, -0/+15About Japan, how is that realistic? Japanese people wear masks in public if they start coughing as a courtesy to others. There are hand washing diagrams near every sink to make sure you thoroughly wash your hands. And instead of a few big hospitals like in the states, there are tons of little hospitals every third block in Japan, not to mention public health-care and a national obsession with cleanliness. It doesn't even have the highest population density.
- arvvvs, on 07/21/2008, -0/+3Make it water spreadable, and make sure hurricanes hit japan. Russia and New Zealand are so dang annoying.
- opticwind, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1Squid I've been living in Aisai for some time now and only the big 3 (Tokyo, Kyoto, Nagoya) seem to have ANYTHING you mentioned.
- stk198323, on 07/21/2008, -0/+6@squidandwhale
There obsession for ''cleanliness'' might just be the reason why there so vulnerable. Using anti-bacterian soap everywhere reduce your exposure to bacteria which result in a weaker immune system. People using too much of those antibacterian soap in america are reported to be more sensible to infection (sorry, don't have a link on hand).
It's good to wash hand's and stuff, but japanese people are taking it way too far and ruin there own immune system by doing this.
- ap44, on 07/21/2008, -0/+16Greenland was the first country to be completely killed off by my virus dubbed "CocksInAssitus"...
- DeFex, on 07/21/2008, -0/+13its funny how the "government starts exterminating rodents" when theres only 50 people left in that country.
- mithrasinvictus, on 07/21/2008, -0/+5For world domination sell all symptoms and increase vectors and resistances (esp. heat)
- Scriabin, on 07/21/2008, -0/+6It's tough, but I think I got it.. Just turn off all ways the disease can be spotted and turn off all symptoms. You just need to spread it to every region first, and if the regions can't 'spot it' then the regions won't be alarmed. After every region has a few infected, turn up the routes of infection--sneezing, coughing, etc--that are not lethal, wait until every region is 100% infected, sell those nonlethal routes of infection, and buy things like liver and kidney failure. You just wiped out the entire human race if you did it right.
Madagascar is also hardest to infect because ships move slow and they only have a port, so by time an infected ship gets there, they might be closed down. So you have to be cautious until you have that island infected especially.- uhhNo, on 07/21/2008, -20/+1Neither coughing nor sneezing are symptoms in this game.

- sturmgiest, on 07/21/2008, -0/+2Peru got me even when I started in Madagascar.
- Qeveren, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1I seem to have pretty good luck with waterborne parasites with no symptoms. It just takes a very, very long time to spread. I seem to win every time I go that route. oO

- Pyroteq, on 07/21/2008, -1/+6How about Peru with NO PORTS. Yes, that's right. I started on Madagascar, infected the entire world except for Peru who closed their borders and managed to survive.
Infecting Canada was hilarious, Madagascar was almost completely infected, the boat finally left after about 180 days, travelled around the entire world, finally docked at Canada and the infection spreaded around the world almost instantly. - dorkino, on 07/21/2008, -0/+6Madagascar can become infected even with the shipyard shutdown. I had everything but Madagascar infected, they shut the shipyard down, so i increased the bacteria resistances to max and added Airborne to the already enabled Waterborne. It became infected almost immediately thereafter.

- magicjames92, on 07/20/2008, -7/+67Great game but some bad problems.
No points for killing people. Only infecting. So if everyone in the area is already infected, no points for you.
Island regions are pretty much impossible to get to.- adragons, on 07/21/2008, -4/+29You can't call it a problem... that's like saying checkers is problematic because you can only move diagonally....
- ap44, on 07/21/2008, -1/+29It's also how a real outbreak would work. Once the host dies, the disease dies...so why would you get points?
- 1Bad, on 07/21/2008, -0/+12Yes, being blind and prone to heart failure IS quite a problem indeed. It is difficult to administer the proper resuscitation techniques when you can't see. Muhaha.
- aywwts4, on 07/21/2008, -0/+6That's not true, I keep getting points slowly even though my disease has stopped spreading, and 100% of the infected region's populations are infected and now dieing.

- RashandCurious, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1thank kinda makes sense though. The success of a disease isn't how well it kills people. It's how well it reproduces and continues to pass on it's genome. Al la herpes.
- geoboy, on 07/21/2008, -0/+2What's more of a problem is how incredibly unrealistic this game is. I managed to get damn near the entire world population infected with a bacteria that causes fever, diarrhea, and kidney failure. And not a SINGLE person died. Not one. Over a period of several weeks. Not a single death. Yeah, I'll believe that.
- razorc03, on 07/21/2008, -0/+3Everyone in Greenland is dead, the they are still open for ALL businesses!

- Xionn, on 07/21/2008, -1/+12agreed. I was quite disappointed to find that the extent of the graphical representation of your disease was a region turning red. I was expecting more of a expanding blob or something. And why not make the airplanes and boats red if an infected is on it?

Even if they did find some super virus or M31 Syndrome, Madagascar and New Zealand would survive. That way, all future generations would derive from them. Think about that: every movie would be by Peter Jackson, sheep farming (and associated Saturday night "wool gathering") would be the primary occupation of most of the earth, and every restaurant would be Madagascarese, filled with whatever they make in Madagascar. - h4mx0r, on 07/21/2008, -0/+3Which I saw like two days ago. What a crappy ass movie. It had stargate worlds though!
- MalDON, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2Yea, wargames is what I meant.
- VgRasta, on 07/21/2008, -1/+8Well that is just redicu
- Abram730, on 07/21/2008, -1/+1You'd need a sealed hepa Vacuums, plastic, duck tape, bath tub, lots of bleach,,,,.. to make a two negative pressure rooms and a positive pressure suit with air pumped in or scuba gear.. err not like I ever thought about that or anything and I think up of lots of things... err I'd better shut up now lol
- echelonist, on 07/21/2008, -0/+2Funny because it's actually resuming the plot of the cheap directo-to-DVD sequel to War Games.
For a good laugh check for "War Games: The Dead Code".
- SQLserver, on 07/21/2008, -5/+18I took a hint from Steve Ballmer and named my virus GPL.
- nonks, on 07/21/2008, -0/+5very nice game...great time consumer
- thallium205, on 07/21/2008, -2/+57Skip all the BS:

- ronaldmonster, on 07/21/2008, -0/+15This game really shines if you do the rarest thing and start in Madagascar.
- Anorhc, on 07/21/2008, -0/+5Funny you should say that. My first game started in Madagascar. It's becoming a bitch to move my disease out with only one port (which was immediately closed).
- ronaldmonster, on 07/21/2008, -0/+3Make it water & airborne the moment it leaves Madagascar you can dominate the world.
- dsmx, on 07/21/2008, -0/+5Actually you better of just going with rodents.
- Anorhc, on 07/21/2008, -0/+5Funny you should say that. My first game started in Madagascar. It's becoming a bitch to move my disease out with only one port (which was immediately closed).
- triont, on 07/21/2008, -4/+61I named my disease /b/.
- Bennessy, on 07/21/2008, -1/+6I beat the game with a disease named that.
- twrife, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2Actually you lost the game.
- CommanderEFG, on 07/21/2008, -8/+3Funny I named mine the cancer killing /b/
- mm3guy, on 07/21/2008, -0/+6You're part of the cancer killing digg.
- vault, on 07/26/2008, -1/+1I named my disease Liberalism. Infected everyone except Madagascar before I lost since no new people could be infected.
They are very eager to close their shipyard, and I had everything else maxed out without symptoms at first, so I'm not sure how you're supposed to get Madagascar if you don't start there.
- Bennessy, on 07/21/2008, -1/+6I beat the game with a disease named that.
- SwedishNinja, on 07/21/2008, -35/+18President Madagascar, someone coughed in Brazil!
CLOSE
DOWN
EVERYTHING!- Psi57, on 07/21/2008, -0/+14Like 8 ppl beat you to it - with the comic and everything :D
- ezalis, on 07/21/2008, -0/+26Just make it airborne and give it the sneezing symptom. Even Madagascar isn't safe. Then mutate it and kill them all.
- recoil669, on 07/21/2008, -0/+0You're full of belogne and LIES.
- monsieurginger, on 07/21/2008, -10/+2No wonder everybody hates us, look at the kind of games we make.
- jmcneilly, on 07/21/2008, -19/+0This is how you win the game...

EPIC FAIL- netneutrality, on 07/21/2008, -0/+3Just remove the extra g at the end of the URL. It's just the start screen with the disease starting in Madagascar though.
- TokiWartooth, on 07/21/2008, -0/+0Image link not working,
- Tanktunker, on 07/21/2008, -2/+18Personally I'm just morally outraged that there aren't an creation points.
This game in no way accommodates the only true, rational viewpoint that an onmnipotent, invisible, omniscient being made us all in spore.- ElSpaniard, on 07/21/2008, -1/+4Good job, champ. You show them.
- jstancom, on 07/21/2008, -0/+23I made a low visibility virus with no symptoms, however made it heavily infectious. Then I bought all the tiers of symptoms and clicked on "Heart Failure." The entire world was already infected, and within 5 minutes everyone was dead.
- aukxsona, on 07/21/2008, -0/+5sweet
- dawgma, on 07/21/2008, -0/+4genius. who would have thought of that? genius.
- Zuranaken, on 07/21/2008, -0/+4I did the same thing. I named my virus "Death Note Virus"
- dhVyse, on 07/21/2008, -0/+5Yeah, low visibility and highly infectious is the way to go, with high resistances to all. Then I like a mixture of Kidney Failure, Fever, Pulmonary Edema, Hypersensitivy, then some vomiting and coughing to get it going even faster. The lethality is more then enough this way.
Also, ***** Madagascar, Greenland and Australia. = - elijahalcantara, on 07/21/2008, -0/+6cool, thanks to you I was able to execute my plan - GLOBAL DIARRHEA
- aukxsona, on 07/21/2008, -0/+5sweet
- rationalbeats, on 07/21/2008, -3/+27In the world news section I was just informed that Canada is completely devoid of life.
Sweet. - leladax, on 07/21/2008, -29/+0only americans would like that game.
- poopsmcgee, on 07/21/2008, -0/+12I'm not an American, I like it fine.
You are an idiot. - jmcneilly, on 07/21/2008, -0/+4The people in Madagascar love it, since they are the only ones who will win.
- JohnLawson, on 07/21/2008, -1/+5You are blocked now.
I will enjoy the absence of you.
Cheers.- leladax, on 07/21/2008, -6/+0enjoy your ignorance.
ignorant.
- leladax, on 07/21/2008, -6/+0enjoy your ignorance.
- poopsmcgee, on 07/21/2008, -0/+12I'm not an American, I like it fine.
- poopsmcgee, on 07/21/2008, -0/+58When the big pandemic comes, I'm moving to ***** Madagascar.
- dawgma, on 07/21/2008, -0/+40They won't let you. Everything will be shut down by the time you realize there is a pandemic.
- arvvvs, on 07/21/2008, -3/+1Russia and new zeland are still uninfected.
- dawgma, on 07/21/2008, -0/+40They won't let you. Everything will be shut down by the time you realize there is a pandemic.
- rmeddy, on 07/21/2008, -1/+22That is some sexy disease music.
- lumbergh, on 07/21/2008, -1/+3They ripped it off from Underworld. Track is called "Ring Road". Underworld still rules
- Splicernyc, on 07/21/2008, -0/+10A phenomenal game. Almost as fun as wiping out entire planets of people willing to give up in the old MOO and Gal Civ. Now if they can only create a war game that lets me kill noncombatants on the town level.
- jbrand45, on 07/22/2008, -0/+3There was a game I saw online somewhere, where you bomb an Iraqi(?) village in an attempt to eradicate the terrorists. The thing was, whenever an innocent villager was killed, 10 more turned into terrorists, so as I'm sure you can see it was a continuing cycle.
- antiorblkflag9, on 07/21/2008, -1/+14New Disease and Jennifer Lopez have just killed everyone
- TheInformer, on 07/21/2008, -6/+12Replace "disease" with "political ideology" and you have our school system.
- alpharaptor, on 07/21/2008, -0/+13no symptoms, still spreading, they're burning people alive
- madetosink, on 07/21/2008, -3/+60I named mine George W. Bush
- bennovw, on 07/21/2008, -1/+8Poor humanity!
- Verz, on 07/21/2008, -14/+4No game should ever have a mandatory 8 minute tutorial video. Nor should a game make you wait for 5 minutes and stare at a bland map with a short music loop and hope that you're lucky enough to infect every country.
- Kanten, on 07/21/2008, -0/+121. The video's not mandatory.
2. Level up your damn infectivity and resistances.
3. There's a fast forward button.
4. Turn the music off.- JohnLawson, on 07/21/2008, -2/+2wow, Verz is a genuine idiot.
- AyaJulia, on 07/21/2008, -0/+2I watched the tutorial and didn't learn a damn thing I didn't figure out within 5 minutes of playing, therefore it's far from mandatory. Also, there's a little button at the bottom to speed time up. Fail.
- Verz, on 07/21/2008, -1/+2The whole "time" thing is unnecessary and artificially extends the game in the most boring way possible.
- Kanten, on 07/21/2008, -0/+121. The video's not mandatory.
- Onji, on 07/21/2008, -1/+71The Tutorial lady's voice is SO god damned annoying. Holy *****.
- Verz, on 07/21/2008, -1/+14It's actually a dude's voice.. The guy that created it.
- adragons, on 07/21/2008, -0/+5No, he got someone else to voice it.
- innocentsinner, on 07/21/2008, -0/+5Sounds like a dude to me.
- NightRiderkami, on 07/21/2008, -0/+19Yeah, it sounds like she had a stroke in between tutorial one and two.
- statk, on 07/21/2008, -0/+3and half a bottle of jack daniel's
- dhVyse, on 07/21/2008, -0/+6Yeah and the tutorial is also speaking to us like we're 3-year-olds.
- Verz, on 07/21/2008, -1/+14It's actually a dude's voice.. The guy that created it.
- kingUssop, on 07/21/2008, -0/+5It's a fun game, I've been playing it for a few days. Good time waster. If you want something with more control over spreading try the first one, they're pretty different, but both fun.
- nonks, on 07/21/2008, -0/+5i named my disease Dymono Lymphoma
