Granted, that would make the project much bigger, but I think it would be quite entertaining to either intentionally put in 80's lyrics with 80's voices, or perhaps some mixups, such as female voices only singing metal songs.

  • lowerlogic, on 10/10/2007, -7/+2If I had the motivation to work on a program like this, I would take this idea a few steps further - instead of using the same single recording of a word each time it is used in the entered text, the program would try to match as many consecutive words from a song as possible with consecutive words in the text you typed in, so for example, if you typed in "this will rock you", it would use any old recording for "this" and it would use 3 Queen recordings for "will rock you". The next addition I would make is overlap the consecutive matching audio clips by 1 word, so it would find a song that sang "this will" and "will rock you", and it would fade out the first song and fade in "we will rock you" at just the right moment while both songs are playing back the singer saying "will". This would help ease the transition between the different songs. Of course if several identical clips fit, like for example if another song had the lyrics "will rock you", it would select the song with the genre that best matches the genre of the previous clip that sings "this will".
