Chuck did you listen to a single thing Obama said during the campaign? He's the first president who has taken office during my lifetime who has laid out a clear plan for reducing the number of abortions performed in the country. Every other president has stuck to their guns saying "keep it legal" or "make it illegal", but no one has actually asked the fundamental question, "how can we reduce abortion".
And I've got news for you:making it illegal will not reduce the number of abortions. All that will happen if Roe v. Wade is overturned is the religious folks will be able to congratulate themselves and have a great big holy circle jerk before they shift their attention to abstinence-only sex education.- eastwood24, on 11/14/2008, -0/+2 Consider this credit crisis has put an additional 171 million + people around the world into severe poverty. If your goal it to protect life, then how can one support Wars of Aggression that have contributed to the actual death of millions in the middle east over the last five years?
I will never understand pro-lifers, especially when living in a world that has unsustainable population growth. What do you think will happen when too many people are competing for too few resources? Perhaps responsible family planning would save lives in the long-run. Over-population = famine and disease. Wake up to a 21st century perspective of the world around you and stop living in religious fantasy land. - ThsGuyRightHere, on 11/14/2008, -0/+2Agreed, likewise I want to know where all the pro-lifers were when we made the decision to invade Iraq. How you can equate the burning and/or dismembering a human being with fighting and removing a genocidal maniac and his cadre is beyond me. The Kurds and most of the Iraqi civilians are glad he's gone and they finally are getting working electricity, running water, and working sewage systems after 30 years of watching their infrastructure fall apart as new palaces were built, and watching their village disappear in clouds of poison gas in the north.

It's the people who do the burying, and those who try to hide from opposing viewpoints, that have a problem with their ideas withering under the slightest scrutiny. You suggest that the spells Obama's name with a '0' in order to insult Obama. I simply stated that I disagreed, and offered an alternative viewpoint. Now, who got defensive, and who was rational?
