AWHS students: We were punished for wearing pro-life shirts

wtol.com — They wanted to send a strong message about the sanctity of life, but some local high school students say they were punished for their beliefs. The T-shirts read, "Abortion is homicide." The students wore the shirts on April 21 to mark the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortion in the U.S.

  • shupy, on 04/26/2008, -0/+1The reality is that many schools have rules against wearing T-shirts with political messages. The students were not punished for their beliefs, they were punished for breaking rules they expect other people to follow.

    Right, if the opposing side were allowed to wear T-shirts, they might have an issue. As it is this is just another attempt for the right wing-nuts to try and claim they are being picked on.
