- asauterChicago, on 11/13/2007, -0/+6Well... how exactly would Bush and his partner corporations make billions if they put tax payer's money into solar power or alternative fuels? That's the part I'm confused about, because I don't know if I would sleep well at night knowing that my hard earned money isn't going towards making someone insanely rich.
- jetsetsc, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1There's nothing intrinsically necessary about the military industrial complex being, uh, military in nature. It's just traditionally been real easy to sell to voters - "The Commies/Terrorists are gonna kill us all!". Those corporations could diversify and get into the alternative energy R&D racket. If they did, I'd have no problem with them making a mint off of government contracts. If the MSM/talk radio fear-mongers switched to scaring the shizzle out of people about global warming, peak oil, and energy costs, that graph could go the other way.
- jamesallen74, on 11/16/2007, -0/+1Good freaking lord, I think I'm going to puke!
Great quote: "Don't tell me what you value. Show me your budget and I will tell you what you value".
- onisamsha, on 10/15/2007, -0/+3Logic would say, "Hrm this system is completely fubar!"
Profit would say, "Hrm this system is completely awesome!"
But remember, it's not about oil! It's about bringing freedom to the Iraqi people/Getting the WMD's/Ending torture/etc/etc/etc- BigMommaLurka, on 11/10/2007, -1/+2ENDING torture?... Have you been watching the headlines? We're specializing in it now.
- Ydnar24, on 11/16/2007, -0/+1I think that was sarcasm bud...
- BigMommaLurka, on 11/10/2007, -1/+2ENDING torture?... Have you been watching the headlines? We're specializing in it now.
- galleryfront, on 10/30/2007, -0/+1dugg for breaking all of the traditional graph rules. Reminds me of the Oreo bar graphs that compared military spending to welfare spending.
- TheNuclearMoose, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2Just goes to show how creating a culture of fear and distrust in the world feeds the military industrial complex and makes the top 2% of the worlds' population who share over 95% of the wealth even more rich. Too many of us have been duped in the name of democracy, freedom and patriotism.
- bepeace, on 11/20/2007, -0/+0obscene
- ApostolypseNow, on 12/28/2007, -0/+0Too many fat, stupid, illiterate, American idiots. Pull your heads out of your asses. Why do we allow criminals in the highest positions of government? We don't, they are just willing to kill people (JFK) to get there.
- tbhurst, on 02/23/2008, -0/+1Yikes. That looks like a bar graph for Al Gore's new Graph-o-matic visual display graph-climber.
- Axxon, on 12/19/2008, -0/+1Has anyone finished scrolling yet...?
